The young prince Alec was gifted according to some, but cursed according to the rest; he had a demon lord sealed inside of his body. It was not like it did much to him save the odd ‘vision’ or strange dream. Though this was not something special compared to what the masses of the world were facing; war, crime, lack of any military force. In some areas even demons had started peeping out from the underworld where some ‘brave heroes’ had decided to open tombs and sealed entrances. Basically most of the world has lost laws and governments. This has lead some regions without a ruler that in turn has indirectly let bandits and gangs take over the smaller regions while ‘kings’ and barons sit on the larger. In the ‘owned’ regions there is a sense of order and prosperity, but this disappears almost as soon as you leave the borders.
To much dismay of the forest-dwellers, the lack of a ruling order has let the people that want to start deforesting to make a living, mining in ruins and the like. Basically outside of these ‘safe’ regions shit has gone to hell.

There is but one method to bring back order and prosperity to the world, the young prince Alec, the demon lord sealed inside of him has the power to bring back the peace and order in the lands, and this has forced the young lad to start a pilgrimage to the 6 gods to gain their blessing; and in turn gain more control over the latent power in himself.

After some reluctance, the teen set out on this journey with a handful of bodyguards, initially it was not told to the public that he was on this trip. Alas some found out and decided that holding the king of a region’s son hostage, would fetch a “king’s ransom”. The bodyguards, as well as the prince, were taken by surprise and in the end the only one from the royal group that were left alive was the prince himself and one of the king’s guards.

Managing to run away in the confusion, the Prince managed to get himself to the first shrine, the shrine of Ryuda. As he prayed to the god he was gifted with the lifting of a part of the demon’s seal, unlocking his access to the power one step. Though it was still far from the end he were now forced to recruit guardians for himself, proving his ability to place trust in the right person so that what he escaped would not become his reality after all, as well as to complete his pilgrimage and in turn mange to save the lands.

I'm keen, and I think I can commit myself to this even with the life syndrome acting up.

I'll edit this post to include the character. Probably not going to be one of the Specific Characters.

So since there are other posts, I may as well separate them.

Name
Lesley Sumner
Age
24
Gender
Female
Occupation
Sword-For-Hire (Mainly as a Bodyguard)
Race
Human
Appearance
(Image by MeganeRid. So damn good I'd rather link you to the real deal)

Lesley's chestnut brown hair is rarely ever preened, but somehow manages to pull off an unusual appeal. Her hair is shoulder-length and her fringe, despite reaching down below her eyes, rarely ever affect her in battle much.

She is always dressed in her hybrid armour, which meshes fashion with defense. Strips of Adamant (one of the hardest metal, and also fairly light) are slotted into vital areas of the blouse, like the chest area, to protect the wearer. The same is done to her lower body wear. At her waist, she wears a belt containing the strips arranged such that it seems like a plate-skirt.

She also wears a magically enhanced leather gauntlet that facilitates the use of magic, as well as to provide general protection for the hands.

An interesting detail of her clothing is the partial plate attached to her left arm which protects up to her elbow. This plate bears an 'X' which signifies the maker of the armour. (Mentioned again in History)
Weapon
It is the sword linked above.

The blade bears magical inscriptions that hint at the nature of the weapon. The hilt is surprisingly ordinary compared to the blade, which sparkles with a soft glow reminiscent of the moon at night.

This sword is aptly named the 'Moonlight' for that reason.

Moonlight is magical in nature, and must be summoned by Lesley. Summoning it always come with the sounds of a soft, melancholic melody, followed by a glow at Lesley's hands before the sword and hilt appears in her right and left hand respectively.

The moment the sword is sheathed, it is de-summoned. Because of this, it is possible to prolong the sword's existence by stealing the sheath.

Summoning Moonlight costs Lesley no magical energy, but maintaining it for anytime after five minutes will start draining her magical energies 2% per minute. When Lesley's magical energies are depleted, it starts draining away Lesley's life force at 5% per minute. When Lesley's life force is depleted, she will die.

This sword is highly durable, but not strong enough to shatter another blade. It is also especially potent in channeling magic spells, though when doing so, it requires 5% of Lesley's life force. (IE. Every spell channeled through the blade costs 5% of Life Force)

That being said, it is possible to cast spells separately. Doing so will not cost Lesley any additional Life Force. On this note, it should also be noted that Moonlight offers a weak enhancement to magic spells (that are not channeled through the blade).

The sword cannot be summoned immediately after it is de-summoned. At least 10 minutes must transpire before it may be summoned again.
Abilities
Lesley is especially attuned to the elements, so much so that she is able to draw out the essence of those elements to wield as weapons. The specific elements which she exerts mastery over are fire and water.

The appearance of the elements are seen in the link to the image (Linked in 'Elemental Control'). The color of the element of water is as in the image, while the element of fire is red in color.

As these are merely essences of the elements, they do not possess the physical characteristics of the actual element itself. Instead, they are similar to a metal ball, only with the effects of each specific element.

E.G. Fire would burn a person. Water would wet the person... (Lol. Now that I look at that last one. It actually sounds funny)

The essence cannot be molded into non-circular shapes, nor can they be any bigger than Lesley's fists. She can, however, summon a few of these essences.

These costs 0.1% of magical energy to summon.
Swordplay
Although not a master of swordsmanship, Lesley does possess an intermediate level of skill with the sword. She will definitely not be able to do battle with more than one opponent without using Elemental Control.
Magic
Lesley is capable of some low-level fire and ice spells, which can reach medium-level in the presence of Moonlight. If channeled through the blade, these spells are at advanced-levels.

Low Level Fire

A palm-sized flame ignites on Lesley's hand. This can be tossed at enemies to do damage equivalent to normal fire.

Low Level Ice

Three spikes of ice form in Lesley's hands, and these can be magically directed to home in on the enemy. These spikes fly at a speed of 70mph.

Medium Level Fire/Ice

Fire/Ice bursts in a stream in the direction her palm faces, taking the shape of a dragon. If hit, the enemy is either consumed in fire or ice.

Fire will burn at the enemy, dealing damage until it is put out.

Ice slows the enemy down for about half a minute before it magically fades away.

Advanced Level Fire

A dragon made of fire dances around Moonlight, until directed at the enemy. When directed, it rushes forth, it's heat more intense than a medium level fire. (Equivalent to a white-hot flame)

This dragon dissipates upon impact. The damage is mainly from the impact and the heat at close range.

Advanced Level Ice

Like with an advanced level fire, a dragon made of ice dances around Moonlight. It cannot be directed, but it reduces the temperature around Lesley by about 30 degrees Celsius (Lesley, however, is unaffected. Her allies are, though)

When willed, Moonlight is able to create a wall of ice directly in front of Lesley. This lasts for about 2 minutes unless physically shattered. It deflects or holds against most elements except fire, which melts it.

To clarify (This was briefly mentioned above under 'Weapons' as well)

All low level spells cost: 3% of Magical Energy
Medium Level Spells: 5% (Excluding the costs of summoning Moonlight)
Advanced Level Spells: 5% + 5% drain of Life Force

History
Lesley was born to a rich family of mercenaries who possess the abilities of Elemental Control. Inheriting her family's trademark ability, she was also raised to be a mercenary, and follow in her parents' footsteps (and their parents before them, and so on).

They spared no effort in training her and her cousins, subsequently discovering a talent amongst one of Lesley's cousins. Thereafter, efforts to train her slowed down considerably though she still paid just as much attention to her training.

20 years later, she is a master of her family's art, skilled enough to hold her own alone in battle. While she may not be as powerful as her genius cousin, she is good enough to carry on the family name.

That being the case, she was allowed 5 years of free-lancing before she must return to the family to serve as one of their mercenaries.

At the start of the role play, she has already done 3 years of free-lancing.

Hey, Fox. Do you mind if i import Mtiette from my character list into the RP?

I'll make appriopriate changes of course, but i want permission to do so first.

****Cutting down quote to make the page shorter***

Well, the only thing I have a problem with here is that wall of ice that the sword can make if you slash things.
The way it is formulated, if we were to cross blades; every time we hit the swords togther a small piece of ice would form on my sword. This is actually directly godmodding as you decide what happens to my weapon. Not to mention that it has no energ ycost and can be abused to really high levels ^^
Fix that one thing, adding energy drain, 'charges' (you can base this on 'length' IE; it can create X meters of ice each summon) or something like this. If you do that your Lesley can join ^^

Well, I see that you have edited her since I last approved her as mod, I note the "date edited" is later than my approval ^^
And though she is not an angel, her serious affiliation to good and her nature as "and angel" might mess up parts of the plot (you will know what i mean once the time comes). Even though Mtiette is not an angel in itself, the closest to an angelic being I would accept is eiter a 100% angel that has fallen and become "human", or a halfbreed. For plot-reasons I dont accept pure demon or pure angel(ish) races ^^;

alright. no problem. Is that applied to ANY wing being?

Phallia (character 1) is a half breed angel human race (her race actually says this). Or would you prefer me to use Viridiania. I dont mind either, but Viridiania seems good. Havent actually used her yet in a proper RP

Or maybe Nadesico, my Kitsunari

Ahh... I remember some of those.... ^^;
Mainly your key-mage. (that was Viridiania, no?)
I see that she is still unaltered from the time where I approved her.
So, lets go with her unless you want to use another. (TOTALLY haven't re-read her... so in-game-balance yourself plox ^^;)

Name: Alec Raithin
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Occupation: Prince
Race: Human

Appearance: http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/241567/blue_eyes-city-cloud-fantasy-male-original-scarf-s

A fairly young man with slightly spiky blonde hair and blue eyes, he wears a light blue shirt and trousers with a leather breastplate over the left of his torso and a red shoulderguard on his left shoulder. He wears a red and white scarf which flies freely behind him. On his arms he wears elbow high brown gloves and around his waist he wears a brown leather belt with a metal buckle which is worn loosely, attached to this is a double edged sword, held in a red sheath. Around his legs he wears a hip cape which falls to his ankles and leather brown boots on his feet.

Personality: A somewhat naïve young man, having been kept within the castle for the majority of his life he can come across as quite clueless and as such is easily manipulated. Not very prone to anger he isn't one to react to people insulting him, he will however fight to defend other people despite his inexperience, thinking of it as his duty during his journey to protect those too weak to protect themselves.

Also due to his closed in life he is rather shy around women, making him overly polite to the point of making himself and them rather uncomfortable, with more intimidating men and women however he stays quiet until he is able to relax around them.

Weapon: A double edged sword with a red handle, the blade itself is unremarkable and extends to a triangle point. The sword is just under 4ft long making it relatively balanced to his unseasoned build.

History: As a child Alec was forced to share his body with a demonic entity, unable to be exorcised of it he was forbidden to ever leave the castle and was kept out of the public eye. His life was kept relatively happy despite this, though as the demonic side began to more commonly come to the surface he was isolated more and more from the rest of the castle, till he only ever saw his parents and the castle maids and even then he wasn't able to speak to them for long periods of time.

His life continued in this fashion with his education being the most conversation he ever got with another human being, then on his 19th birthday an old prophet from an unknown land came to have an audience with the King, informing him of a way to 'cure' his son. Even though his son was unknown to the outside world, this man somehow knew of him and his 'ailment' and also knew how to cure it. Suspicion aside he decided to take the man at his word and called forth his most experienced bodyguards to protect his son on the journey. Knowing little more than that he had to take this journey, Alec was let out into the outside world though his happy image of such a large place was swiftly shattered when on the way to the first temple they were ambushed by strange men in the plains and got cut down, leaving himself and a single remaining bodyguard alive, hidden among the corpses.

When the threat had passed they both emerged and made their way to the temple, though highly shaken he persevered and managed to make contact with the first Guardian Spirit, giving him some greater control and stability over the demon within.

-------------------------------

Name: Unknown, he just sticks to Alec's name
Age: 83
Gender: Male
Occupation: Demon Lord's son
Race: Demon

Personality: Unlike Alec, he is straightforward, cocky, wild and fairly rude. Having a greater arrogance due to his power he doesn't often worry about upsetting people, preferring to have a good time with things. He is however highly suspicious of anyone who gets close to Alec, considering his naïve nature to trust the first person to say he's Alec's friend, making him act as a kind of big brother. Around women however, this goes mostly out of the window, making him more of a show off, flirtatious and generally trying to be a charmer not even noticing if it annoys them or not.

Despite his rebellious nature he is not opposed to Alec having more stability with him though doesn't say why and if Alec is ever in danger he's more than eager to take over, generally speaking he just sticks to talking into Alec's head, to which he is able to hear any thought Alec has whether he wants him to hear them or not, giving them some level of trust between them.

Magic: Unlike Alec as an unseasoned warrior, the demon side has the ability to use offensive magic.

Flame Saber: With a swipe of his hand he can release a long range wave of flame, relatively fast cast time with a small cost. In exchange for it's range however it lacks considerably in power though it can still hurt if the target doesn't defend against it making it useful as a distraction as well as lightning combustibles alight.

Fire Spear: Performing an action similar to throwing a javelin he hurls a spear made of flame into the air before it lunges down to it's target, it's fairly weak in accuracy but makes up for it with a large amount of power and piercing ability. Able to cut straight through armour on a direct hit, the cost is slightly higher than Flame Saber and due to it having to find a target, the cast time is sufficiently larger.

Dark Blast: Creates an explosive ball the size of his hand before slamming it into the ground, creating waves of strong force, the waves repeat three times before the effect vanishes. It has the slowest charge time but makes up for it with a long staying time with a normal drain time. The spell itself is best used against a group of enemies in a defensive situation.

Made the changes. Changed that entire thing into the ability to create a wall of ice that serves as a defensive structure. Also clarified the costs of all those spells. They actually had a cost, but I forgot to state them clearly under that category.

Medium level spells and advanced level spells can only be cast when Moonlight, Lesley's sword, is summoned. That is mentioned under 'weapons'. (Energy costs also mentioned.)

The bio is linked in this line for convenience.

Changes in that color. Lemon Chiffon, apparently.

Well, except the sentence that goes "it defends against most elements" since most elements have many a thing that can be done to ice, but besides that I'm not gonna be as nazi as I normally am ^^

You be appjoriefied! ^^ (AKA, approved)

Hm... It's true that most other elements would do really bad things to ice :gasp2: But since it takes the hit from those elements, it does defend against those elements, in a sense.

Maybe I should say it 'defends Lesley from most elements'?

I would just say "defends Lesley" ^^ Since it is a shield... of ice..
Regardless of what the shield is made of, as long as it is a physical substance, it is a shield and will guard against everything to a degree ^^

Wow. That is fast! I like!

I think it should be fine, we have only about four people so far... Though as always, decision-making by the super GM-early-birds
