Time had restored calm and tranquility across the world, since the events of Sephiroth and Meteor unfolded. It had been just over 4 years. Some wounds remained fresh in the minds of people but normality was slowly returning. The occasional exception reared it's ugly head in the form of Sephiroth worshipers. These were people that believed Sephiroth was a kind of God. A god that should still be alive and ruling over the planet.

Cloud, Tifa and Barett had set up camp in Edge (Midgar). The rest of the entourage had meanwhile re-located: Cid, Yuffie and Red XIII went back home. Whilst Cait Sith joined Red XIII at Cosmo Canyon and Vincent decided to explore the Northern Continent.
There hadn't been a need for the group to stay close together any more; they had earned the right to live their lives as they wished.

The past few months had seen problems bubble up to the surface of Edge: kidnapping, thefts, attacks. Residents were full of chatter, was it all coincidence or simply organized crime? No one knew for sure, and no one was brave enough to pry.
Edge, being a concrete jungle of sorts, was a place where crime was easily masked ; thousands of buildings, alleyways and nooks.

Cloud, Tifa and Barret had been aware of the problems for a short amount of time but were reluctant to take responsibility. After all, they weren't hitmen.

Tifa, taking a break from the demand of the local drunks, stood outside in the crisp night air. All was quiet and still around 7th Heaven. She tilted her neck back and looked high up into the night sky, staring at the almost hypnotic stars. She couldn't help but think back to her childhood, sitting on the well with Cloud gazing into the night sky. Tifa was startled by a sudden crash that came from behind her,

"It was just a cat. Don't be stupid Tifa!"

The cat had knocked over a trash can beside 7th Heaven. It wasn't the spilt trash that caught Tifa's attention, it was the poster that was stuck to the side of her building, it read:

"We are all here for one reason.
We are all destined for the same fate.
We are all required to summon the chosen one.
Join your brothers and sisters.
AGAGNOG"

Tifa's face was a picture of confusion. The parts that were written clearly made no sense, and the last word just seemed to be gibberish. What did this mean exactly.
Scratching the back of her head, Tifa felt a presence behind her. Slowly turning around, she was face to face with a cloaked person. They had a slightly bigger build but were shadowed by their cloak,

"I see you're intrigued by what we write. Join us."

The cloaked figure reached out a hand to Tifa, who noticed that they had the number "24" scribed on the back of their hand.
Feining an interest, Tifa grabbed the strangers hand. She had no intention of following this freak, so instead knocked them out cold with a swift punch to the temple.

Carrying the stranger over her shoulder, Tifa took the unconscious assailant into the back room of 7th Heaven and summoned Barret and Cloud in.

They both stormed into the room and locked the door behind them. Tifa, now with a stern look on her face, rolled down the sleeve of the stranger and thrust their hand into the direction of Barret and Cloud.

A tense silence griped the room momentarily. The cloaked person began to regain consciousness.
Grabbing them viciously by the neck, Cloud looked directly at them,

"I want answers. Now."

Name: Robert Steiner

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Appearance:
RobertMartialArts.png

Personality: Robert is a rather fun-loving kind of guy. Even when he's in a serious battle and is completely focused on a fight, he'll toss out some biting humor, quite often to anger the opponent into making mistakes, but he generally likes to joke around. He can be sarcastic at times, which is what his humor often centers around. Some find it funny, others get offended. But at the end of the day, he's loyal to his friends and always does what he feels is morally right, even if it means bending the laws a bit.

Materia: Time, Steal, Counter, Exit

Limit: Psycho Crusher

Robert calls upon his latent power in the form of what looks and acts like Goku's Kao-Ken attack. Red energy erupts, feuling him with a massive power and speed boost. With it, he rushes his opponent and pummels them with a flurry of punches, following up with an uppercut that launches them into the air. Robert jumps up hard until he rises over his aerial opponent. He then uses the energy to propell himself downwards into his foe and slams them into the ground as the energy spirals down like a drill into the opponent. Robert jumps backwards and the energy is dispelled, bringing his power back to normal. However, this move causes Robert to lose some health.

Weapon: Gloves

Armour: Cured Silk Gi

Bio: Robert was born in Upper Midgar, where the sector 5 plate used to be before it was brought down. His parents were both wealthy business owners, but they never doted on him. Instead they always made him study so that he could one day take over the business. They went so far in dictating his life that they even went ahead to arrange a marriage for him before he was even old enough to date. He hated his parents and how they raised him to 'be' them.

One day, at the age of 16, Robert ran off and joined the Midgar army to get away from his parents. While it was still a life of training and orders, the army allowed him a lot more freedom. During final exams for rank placement, Robert showed a great amount of potential, enough to get him into the SOLDIER program. He underwent the mako process, however he was not implanted with the Jenova cells. That was reserved for those who showed a greater level of potential than Robert had.

Robert was a 3rd Class when the desertions began. Robert's faith in the company did waiver as their corruption became more blatant, but he stuck to his post. Several years afterwards, he was tasked with finding and capturing a specimen for Hojo in Cosmo Canyon that was to be used for a future experiment. Robert was sent to Cosmo Canyon, and through the use of some sleeping herb and materia, he was able to capture Nanaki, who would later be known as Red XIII.

Upon returning, he went into Midgar to spend his reward cash. It was while he was shopping that he overheard a couple of troops talking about how they regretted thier mission to kill Zack Fair. Zack had been a role model to him, even though they never met in person. This shook his faith in Shin-Ra the most.

But the driving point to his vendetta was the order of dropping the Sector 5 plate. That plate was where his parents' lived, and what was worse was how many peoples' lives would be lost. He tried to interfere by trying to stop the Turks from getting into their chopper, but he was knocked out and later locked up in prison. Branded a traitor, he could do nothing but await his execution, or to be used by Hojo in some sort of freakish experiment.

However, the sector 5 drop caused damage to the sector 6 prisons that he was held in. parts of Sector 5 fell on the prison. The ceiling caved in and fell down on Robert's legs, crushing them while the wall to his cell crumbled. Using all of the strength in his upper body, Robert managed to pull himself out of the rubble. A few fellow inmates who had survived and were imprisoned for standing up to Shin-Ra gave him aid and carried him to the sector 8 slus, where he was hospitalized.

Robert healed faster than normal people due to the mako process, but it was still a long recovery, lasting almost a full year. During that time, he went to Kalm in order to train, to get himself back into fighting condition. However, by the time he could fight at his full potential, Meteor was already decending upon the planet. Shin-Ra was practically in ruins, and thus there was no need for revenge. He knew about the same as anyone else of the whole situation, which was to say, very little. But in the end, the Meteor threat and Sephiroth were taken out.

Since then, Robert has moved to Cosmo Canyon, with a desire to make up for his past sins against the town and Nanaki. He aids in their defense against wild monsters.

Sir Fratley, awesome bio my friend. Exactly what I was looking for!
I really like the way Robert's past links in with Red XIII's.

TTT - I'll give you Red XIII for now. If you could get the bio for it ASAP, that'd be great.

Thanks guys. Good to have you on board.

hope this bio is alright.

Name: Stephen Hownam

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Dart_Feld.png

Personality: Stephen is cold and cut off, very harsh with his words, he tells things as they are, and never sugar coats anything, if a situation is dire, Stephen tells it so, he slender mixes with others and will be the ally of the highest bidder.

Materia: Bahamut (summon),

Enemy skill – Beta, Trine, Aqualung, white wind.

Limit: Quadra-slash – Stephen unleashes 4 slashes, the final of which is clouds braver.

Weapon: Brotherhood.

Armour: the outfit from the picture

Bio: Stephen was born in Kalm, raised by his older brother, who was a blacksmith, as his parents were killed when he was a child, Stephen spent his years training and helping his brother in the shop, when he reached 15, Stephen helped his brother make a sword that shimmered blue and held the element of water that only became useful with the equipping of an Elm-Atk material.

When the sword was completed Stephen’s brother gave it to him, and since then Stephen has called it brotherhood as it reminds him of the bond Stephen had his brother had. On Stephen’s 18th birthday Stephen was given two orbs of material and Gil among other things, the material being his Bahamut and Enemy skill. Bahamut being his least used Summon as it drains most f his MP

Since receiving the material Stephen has travelled the world growing stronger, and working as a mercenary, for the highest bidder, which occasionally happened to be Rufus Shinra, Stephen had worked for Cloud and the others a couple of times, and it was because of these missions that he managed to obtain the Trine and Beta spells.

Stephen still travels the world working for those who can afford to pay him.

That's great Kira, welcome aboard!

I was hoping that a few more people would have joined by now, but I'm willing to stay patient...

Awesome, can't wait to get this RP going, contemplating whats going on with the poster, and looking forward to working with new people.

Granted I've not been here for a little while, but I'd like to shamlessly bump this back up and see if anyone would be interested in taking part?

I still think this place is dying for a FFVII rp.

I would be quite interested!! Yes, I may be new... But I'm defintely not new to roleplay, by a long shot. I can come up with a brand new character if you allow me to join, I wanted some reason to get those creative juices flowing!!

I'd definitely be happy for you to join, I'm considering sending a message to the other guys as well to see if they could play the part of other characters. I'd like to start this soon even if we can't get huge numbers.

just read my guy and will take part with one alteration to his mateia if thats okay, i wanna swap deathblow for Bahamut (summon materia)

No problem, Deadpool. Sir Frately is back on board as well so we'll hopefully see him back here soon. I might look at playing the roll of a couple of canon characters due to our small amount of numbers - you guys feel free to take some more.

Awesome!! I have but one question: What are the limits on custom characters??? What would be considered "overpowered"??

Awesome!! I have but one question: What are the limits on custom characters??? What would be considered "overpowered"??

Custom characters should always be designed with an element of common sense I think. So nothing along the lines of: equipped with his ultimate weapon, ultima materia in each slot etc...there also shouldn't be anything along the lines of "he took down the giant beast with one swipe."

Post your bio and I'll soon tell you if anything needs changing. Also, if you're having a custom character could you play the part of a canon character as well please. Thanks!

Awesome!!

I'll get to a bio soon, but which canon character would you prefer me to be??? I dont mind having some sort of antagonistic role in the roleplay.

I really don't mind, the choice is yours. The main post shows who's taken already.

SOrry, here is my character post.... He is a new character, who is going to be used in different RP's

Name:(FIrst name first) Takao ,Yusei, Mishima

Alias: “Cu chullainn, the hunter.”

Alignment: steered towards good.

Class: “magical swordsman”

Race: Human, becoming slightly demonic
Gender: Male

Age: 19 years of age, born on the 11th February,
Country of birth/home country: A small village, near costa del sol.
Appearance: Takao’s Height is at an average five foot, eleven inches. His weight is a normal 158 poundsGrey coloured, mid length hair. Physical type is that of a hardworking athletic person meaning that his body is in prime condition. His skin colour is a half cast of eastern Asian and Caucasian, meaning he is very pale. His eyes are narrow and green in colour. His mouth tends to be shut tightly for most of the time. He has a fairly odd fade, but works as an everyman in forms of standing, sitting and mannerisms.
Clothing: Takao’s clothing consists of dark navy straight, slim leg jeans, grey long coat with black accents, a plain black T-shirt and black leather gloves. Around his waist is a darker grey belt, with numerous attachment holders.
<Insert photo “Takao 21”>

Personality: Takao is a fairly complex character. He is very cold, brutally honest and extremely focused when assigned tasks. However, the other side of him is a polite, respecting young man who prefers to avoid involving others in his own internal debates. His honestly reflects a lighter side: as a person, he refuses to lie to others. A man of few words, those which he speaks tend to be used in the most productive manner possible…. Or as a sarcastic remark.
Of course, his flaws are very easily displayed: He can loose himself in anger, becoming a danger to others. His “task” tends to put him under extreme pressure, meaning that-at times of his anxiety- he can snap at others. In essence, he seems to be quite like the Shakespearean “Hamlet”. In that, he is still a fighter for the good and just, he seeks revenge for his brother’s murder, which he has no involvement? However, unlike Hamlet-who procrastinates- Takao is quite forward and straight to the point: so much that he can get ahead of himself and not think things through. Nevertheless, he is under an unbelievable amount of stress from this task, as his soul is somewhat pure.

First
Impression:On first impressions, any person would notice that focused stare of Takao‘s, which could shock those who are timid. His own first instinct would be staying on guard, to which others would probably be confused by, as his “everyman” persona seems quite average and regular. All in all, he wouldn’t come off as a threat from a distance, but his aura is quite fearsome up close.
Statistics:
Strength:
His strength is that of a well trained young man who trains his body regularly. On average, he can press roughly 105 pounds. In fighting wise, his punching power would snap a thin plank of wood in half. However, it wouldn’t do much to a wall, except injury
Vitality: Takao’s vitality is higher than a normal human. He is able to take quite a few blows without losing focus. His tolerance towards pain is high and -due to his supernatural abilities- he is able to heal normally mortal wounds, but not at a supernormal rate.

Speed: His speed is above average, and is the mainstay of his attacks. He can run at a top speed of 45 mph on short spiriting charge and 15 mph long run/free running.
Stamina: Takao‘s stamina is probably his strongest point. He has bundles of energy and his lasting strength is fairly high. At optimum body levels, he can last with strenuous activity for at least 3 hours. His tolerance to pain is high, as he can take major injuries easier with focus. Of course, this is not unbeatable, as he can and will submit to extreme injuries.
Reflexes: His reflexes are sharp, but not to insane levels. It‘s obvious that he has been trained but that is the extent of his instinctual reflexes. This means that Takao can get caught off guard quite easily.

Fighting Style: Takao’s fighting style is a mixture of trained, kenjutsu and Shinkendo swordplay, freestyle “hit and run” tactics and a daredevil like manoeuvres. However, he can and will fight dirty if need be. It focuses on speedy slashes, forward charges and flanking sidesteps inside of a defensive “stone wall” type style. Weapons: Takao carries around the usual “big sword, little sword” combination which was famous around Japan during the samurai age. These weapons have no special qualities except those associated with sword of said era. However, they hold sentimental value so that Takao will avoid permanent damage to them. It includes the following two swords.
The “Big sword”, Katana.
Tenkaippin (“best article under heaven“)
Description: The sword is a quite common blade used by Japanese warriors of that era. The general scheme of the colouring is black, with a black hilt and black steel which forms the 28.5 inch blade. It has no other outstanding features.
History: This was takao’s personal weapon since his younger teen years. It had belonged to his family for generations and-according to myth- it would never lose as long as the blade stayed whole during any battle. Takao’s main weapon, he never allows it to leave his person. Along with a sheath strapped to his back, Takao has a black bag/case which allows him to carry it without suspicion.

Materia slots: 4, 2 and 2 linked.

The “Little sword” Wakizashi
Shounetsujigoku (Burning hell)
Description: This blade matches the Katana completely as a companion sword, with the only difference being the length, which is 20 inches long. From a first look, it seems as though this weapon holds no outstanding features. However, one may be surprised….
History: Even though this is the companion of Tenkaippin, Takao did not receive this weapon until his recent years. It was originally kept separate from the household due to the tag that the weapon can “corrupt” the wielder towards that of a demonic soldier. This has never been proven; due to the fact that preceding members of Takao’s family have not been alive long enough to formally inherit it. This weapon is usually held on Takao’s lower body, as a secondary weapon.

Abilities:
(limit 4) Warriors frenzy:
As with his moniker, Takao can- if forced- gain a berserker state in which he loses himself into the thrill of battle and will attack any that come close to him. At first, this was a technique which he gathered upon his travels and was strictly a mental focus which improved his swordplay, but upon his receiving of the “Little Sword”, Takao’s frenzy has become much more lethal, but at a price. His life-force is being drained by the short without his notice. It does recover over time, but that is a long rate. Also, his light powers are significantly weakened in this form, as his soul is corrupted. This-on the other hand- allows his darkness magic much more of his magic‘s percentage (Normally, it is 60/40 towards “light“. This changes it to 70/30 towards darkness.). Physically, his body changes only slightly, but he gains a darkened aura which envelops his body. His speed increases somewhat higher. After usage, Takao’s body is completely fatigued and he would barely be able to stand.

Magic: . His main magical usage is that of his “Magical weapons”. He can make bladed weapons of different sizes from either “pure light” or “Corrupted darkness.” However, he has not been able to hone his skills and improve his stores, meaning his “MP” is fairly low. He has scare materia stores, only baring two.

Limit: “Blades of redemption (light) (Level 1)
Using this spell, Takao creates numerous magical weapons which he can control with his spatial force. The light variants are solid like an icicle weapon which Takao can hold- but the power behind these is fairly little, and Takao needs to focus quite a lot of his potent “MP” into attacks to actually deal damage .Therefore, these work as a defensive tactic. This version’s appearance is a light white colour. This doesn’t take much drain from his body, but he doesn’t tend to use this due to his low magical stores.

Blades of Death(Dark) Level 2
While the dark variant aren’t quite as solid, but instead inflict much more damage upon the foe with its corrupting influence. They are also fast, but can be evaded. Blocking is another story. Takao removes his own defensive tactics and forces his complete potential into offence. A direct hit with a full-power blade of death can be fatal. They take on the attributes of fire. The colour scheme is that of a completely darker version. This can be only used once in a fight-due to his low store-, without the usage of his frenzy.

Along with this, he has respective light and dark versions of the regular Materia, with one "All materia connected to "Dark Fire".

“Dark” Fire//

This works in the same way as normal “Fire”, with a darkened colour.
“Light” Blizzard/

As above, it functions the exact same, but is much more pure in its description: the ice is white as new snow.
Both of these can only be cast three times within succession, as it takes a large store of his MP.

History:As a child growing up, Takao was a fairly happy and well received boy. He loved his family dearly and was generally accepted among his peers. He focused his studies into his swordplay, and generally kept up in school. It wasn’t until his 18th year in which his world slowly fell apart. His Brother- next in line to receive Tenkaippin- was found dead in the night. As the suspicions rose within the family, Takao was the prime suspect. Knowing that it was actually his uncle, Takao set out to prove his innocence to his family.
With his uncle disappeared, he had to follow the trail: Some sort of vision of an olden style town, occupied by a varied amount of species. But, the mission was about to become obsolete by a greater evil… He travelled to Midgar- by means of which he has yet to find out. Here, he came across the heartless. With a swift attack, he was felled by the “Shadow”… But then, something happened.
The light and darkness, they weren’t finished with him. While his heart was not pure enough itself, his focus allowed for the bending of rules: He received a power on the same level, his “blades”. With this magical armoury, he was returned to the worlds with renewed vigour. He was to become the “path to the grey hues”, the real middle way. It came at a price, his life could never return to the peaceful serenity that it had before.

He spent the next year travelling, his blades working as a type of teleporting machine to move him from world to world. During this time, he picked up on different scents, all which led to nothing. He learned new skills, honed his swordplay…. He still follows his quest on revengence, but what was life about to throw at him??
On a visit to Cosmo Canyon, he found the weapon which should have remained home. The weapon which none of his family- since centuries before- was allowed to weld… Shounetsujigoku! The devil blade. The “grey” told him to take it, to use it with vigour and strength like none before. With this, he continues onwards…. To a new adventure, that will swallow that quest of his!
