Lady Renecia was known to all as The Goddess of the Hunt. Her skill was such that she could hunt anything, be it on land, sea or sky. In time, she attracted a following – aspiring hunters who sought to follow in her footsteps, blacksmiths seeking to promote their wares, ambitious traders seeking to sell her followers their equipment, and those seeking a refuge from the monsters that plagued them in their daily lives. Eventually a small trading town, named Renecia village, after the huntress herself, was founded, growing into a thriving community. Renecia stayed there for a time, teaching others the way of the hunt until, one morning, she vanished, setting out for The Abyss and never returning. Others tried to follow her and they, too, were lost. It seemed that the Lady Renecia had found a mark worth her match, although none could either confirm or deny this.

That was hundreds of years ago. Now, The Wyvern's Claw, a guild founded by the lady Renecia shortly before she vanished, acts as protectors for the town. The Tigrex’s Fang, a second guild, was founded not long after and, whilst the guild is less experienced, the new blood helped to stave off the monster attacks, as not even the Wyvern’s Claw can be everywhere at once. For, since Lady Renecia’s passing, monster attacks have steadily increased, until it has reached a point where both guilds can barely protect the town and have had to send out requests for new recruits, new blood that, whilst in no short supply, is sorely lacking in skill for the most part.

Monsters never seen before are appearing in areas previously thought devoid of life, and those existing monsters the guilds are used to dealing with have become far more violent and daring, making several excursions into the village itself before being driven back. Plus, if the rumours are accurate, the one monster that Lady Renecia could not defeat has returned to the lands once again and stirs in the Abyss…

Rules
- God modding, meta gaming and power-playing is forbidden.
- Treat other players with respect. If you have a problem with someone, take it up via PM.
- Maximum of two characters per person.
- Please try to use a decent, understandable level of grammar, punctuation and spelling when roleplaying. Typos are to be expected, as are errors – nobody is perfect. But there is a certain standard, and I’m afraid if you don’t meet that standard, your bio will not be accepted. Sorry, but posts need to be readable, otherwise it’s extremely hard for everyone to know what you’re doing. Thanks for your understanding~
- Dodging attacks is a given, but please try to be realistic about it. You’re not invincible, and your stamina will drop over time, so even if you block things instead of dodging them, remember that you can only take a certain amount of punishment. Dodge and block everything and I’ll have Deviljho appear and you’ll be lucky if there is even a shred of your character left when it’s through with you.
- Check the Monster Hunter Wikia and Information Thread before asking a question, PLEASE. Answering a question to which the answer is already provided gets very old very quickly.
- Upon defeating a Quest monster, players can carve three parts of their choice from the monster’s corpse, and will receive an additional five parts of their choice. Body parts that are cut off during the course of the fight can also be carved from (during the fight) for an additional carve. Once players reach GR4, they may choose between normal and + carves and rewards.
- For the sake of simplicity, armour skills will be in effect if and only if you wear all of the armour of the set in question.
- Make sure you clearly state what you’re carving from monsters, as well as what weapon/armour you’re forging. A list of what you have acquired will be kept by me, but keep your own list anyway, just in case I lose track. It has been known to happen. Be thorough, and no misunderstandings will come of this~
- You need at least TWO other people to go on a quest with you. This is to prevent people from just power-playing their way through quests to get armour sets, as well as to promote interaction between players.

Application Template

Notes:
- All players will start off at Guild Rank 1. The sole exceptions to this will be the Guild Masters.
- All players excluding the Guild Masters start with a leather armour set, as well as a first-level Yukumo weapon of their choice.
- You will be able to branch out and acquire different weapons as you go along, but be realistic in how adept your character is at wielding it if you decide to change.

Name: Faythe (Rhodes)

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Personality: Faythe is strangely Happy go lucky for someone who has gone through as much hardship as she has. Losing her parents at a young age and being constantly bullied made her extremely pessimistic now she seems to be overly optimistic as a way of balancing that out.

This bi-sexual huntress will stop at almost nothing to enjoy herself both on and off the hunt. she can drink more eat more and shout more than anyone else, and if she cant she certainly tries to keep up. A loyal friend but a deadly enemy

The excitability of this girl is both a strength and a weakness. she is hardly ever taken off-guard because she is always waiting for something to happen however her lack of restraint often leads to over-zealousness

Appearance:
normal_8252d1313ff1e433ea884567381e1703.jpg

Weapon: Great Sword

Guild: Wyvern's Claw

Bio:
Orphaned as a child when her family was set upon by fanged wyverns. Living on the streets with no protection she had to grow up fast, this means she learnt to look after herself in a variety of situations. She has been picked on physically mentally and verbally to the depths of depression before she came back to fight for herself.

that is the secret behind her constant search for fun. Not to mention her thirst for friendship and approval that was kept from her so easily in her youth. The girl has been so unlucky that she has even forgotten her families name so she cannot even look up a relative of any description.

After 10 years of being alone and starved she has decided to venture out and make a name for herself as a monster hunter, and seeks to taste the flesh of every creature she can kill

Spot reserved for -Wyvern's Claw Guild Leader. (If you're asking why I get to be Guild Master, well, Martel jacked my RP. Just Kidding :xP:)

Appearance:

Name: Vincente' Zarian. Commonly goes by Vincent.

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Personality: An avid listener. He is a kind, warm hearted person and has an ear for entertainment. He upholds his duty to protect anyone in need, and will easily sacrifice his life in order to save others. He's adventurous no doubt, outgoing, and quite the comic at times. Lenient and easy-going, it takes a whole lot to get him irritated and annoyed.

Weapon: Being a Guild Leader, he has been trained over the years to use any type of weapon when the time is necessary. If a comrade in battle cannot handle a certain situation, he may step in and use their weapon to his discretion. His primary weapon usage consists of Great Swords and Lancers.

Guild: Wyvern's Claw

Bio: Will edit later.

The Tigrex's Fang Guild Master would be my one, then~

Himeno, a couple of things need to be changed for your app:
+ A little more personality/history, please? Another paragraph for each would be fine~
+ Under the weapon section, what I meant was pick one of the weapon types available to hunters in the Monster Hunter series that your character will start with and specialise in. I'll eventually (i.e. probably tonight or tomorrow) be writing up profiles of each weapon, with their inherent strengths and weaknesses summarized, but for now click here to see what weapon types you can choose. You'll start with the lowest-tier Yukumo weapon of the catergory you choose.

Name: Chris Harris

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Personality: Quirky, upbeat and fun loving, it's hard to get anything serious out of Chris because it just isn't in him to be sombre, morose, or brooding. He's more or less your typical guy, always smiling, friendly to most, and a bit unpredictable.

Chris' most discerning trait, as well as his greatest flaw, is his habit of trying to be friend and even lover of random people that he barely knows, talking to them as though he's known them for years, as well as a little light flirting here and there- with the men as well as the ladies.

He quite enjoys the thrill of the hunt, the adrenaline of knowing that each time he goes out might be a call to death exciting him where it might intimidate and humble other Monster Hunters. He isn't exactly careless with his life, but he does things with no fear and no hesitation, and never thinks about tomorrow, believing today is all he has and that yesterday and tomorrow no longer or haven't yet come to exist.

He is relatively dependable in a serious situation, being good for sweet nothings and words of comfort, but really he's about as useful as an umbrella in a tornado when it comes to comfort in crisis. Actions speak louder than words; a mantra Chris actively follows.

He isn't really capable if withholding emotion. If he's angry, he'll show it. If he's insanely happy, he's gonna show it. It can either be refreshing youth or an annoying kid yapping in your ear. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Finally, he is something of a klutz, and has been known to trip over air and fall flat on his face over and over again, though he somehow manages to keep this trait at bay during missions... for the most part at least.

Appearance: Pretty much average height at five foot nine inches, Chris' form is average; not too thin and not dominated by hulking muscle. He has strength from a lifetime of work; something that can be actively seen if one looks close enough at his arms and legs.

With dirty blond hair in a simple and casual tousled style, simple, round blue eyes continue the trend of basically average looks. His face too is normal and unrefined, if a little young and innocent from a lifetime of less dangerous work and simple pleasures. It's very expressive, able to show a wide range of emotions.

Preferring simple clothes when not in battle, half of what Chris owns are, you guessed it; clothes. When not out on a mission, Chris can be found in a wide variety of hats, caps, t-shirts, jackets, sweaters, jeans, shorts and sneakers, often horribly clashing because he just throws on whatever is clean, regardless of season, dress code and the opinions of the people around him.

Weapon: Dual Swords. Couldn't find what the name for the lowest rank of this weapon category though.

Guild: Tigrex's Fang

Bio: With a mother who was a Monster Hunter and a father who was a farmer, Chris was never given the relaxing life of a kid. By day he would help his father, his older brother, and his mother with work around the farm; often getting up at 5AM from as young as nine years old, giving him a sleek physique and a keen interest in animals and their behavior.

By night, however, he was raised with his mother's stories, which she would tell with a faraway gleam in her eye. A woman who was a hard worker as well as a mother and wife declared herself as an individual being through these stories, not that her young sons would know. She would sit on her sons' beds and entrance them with stories of the many and varied monsters she and her guild had felled in her younger days.

As Chris grew up, the mundane yet peaceful atmosphere surrounding this family life was gradually worn away. His mother, a woman who had been constantly thrilled and full of adrenaline during her youth, could only derive so much from her existence as a farmer's wife, and they began to have arguments, likely where they thought their sons couldn't hear. Yet they did, and the arguments became louder, and more frequent, until eventually they didn't even have to hide them anymore. Seeing his tall, proud mother stand and come into conflict with his stooped father made him both confused and concerned.

Eventually, when Chris hit sixteen and his older brother eighteen, said brother left, and the removal of one of the bricks that kept the shaky building afoot brought the whole family structure toppling down, and two months later, his mother denounced his father and took her leave, claiming in her departure a young colt of the horse she had ridden as a Monster Hunter. She did not know what she wanted to do, she said, but this was better for her, and it was time she thought of herself for the first time in twenty years.

It seemed that was the straw that broke her former lover's back, for Chris' father became sickly over the next six months, eventually dying to a chill that crept into his lungs and heart shortly before winter's end.

At the funeral, meeting with his mother again, Chris had resolved to continue the running of the farm for his father's sake, when his mother, looking young and proud once again, took him aside and told him that although his father was a good man, that he shouldn't let his legacy hold him back from his true potential, and gave him the location of an arms dealer in a large local village, taking to the road again after paying her respects to a man she still loved.

After contemplating for some time on this matter, Chris realized that his mother was right, and that he had only enjoyed the life of a farmer's son because his family had been there. Mimicking his mother's start in life, as well as what she had taken up the mantle of again since her departure, he became a mercenary for hire, becoming a proficient if slightly clumsy dual sword user and Monster Hunter, eventually drawing the attention of an up and coming guild in the area, spreading their roots to other areas. He's hoping the only way is up now that he has the metaphorical shine of a guild on his reputation, but only time will tell.

Well, at the time you posted that, I was in bed asleep. xD;

Anyways, Diar, you're approved. Himeno, just get rid of the link in your weapon and have it as Great Sword, and you're also approved~
