What do you think how many summons will be in Final Fantasy XIII? Will there be any returning summons and some new?

I think that maybe Ifrit, Shiva, Ixion, Odin and Bahamut will be returning summons and I think that maybe three new summons appear.

Well Shiva, Ifrit, Carbuncle and Odin have been shown for definate as being the game I think.

They seem to team up with certain characters and perform a vehicle function as well as that of a summon... However I do believe this function still only exists in battle.

For example:
Odin = Lightning's summon, and he turns into his horse, so it seems.

Shiva = Snow's summon, and she turns into a freaky motorbike. :D

Ifrit (I think) = Sazh's summon, and he appears to turn into a racing car.

Carbuncle = I don't think it has been revealed who's summon it is, or what it turns into. It probably makes the most sense to belong to Oerba. I don't think it has been revealed what it turns into, but I could be wrong.

It's all very weird and hard to tell at this point, but that appears to be what we know so far.

As for who is left to be revealed... We can almost guarantee that, if they are bringing back the classical summons, they will also include Bahamut... Bahamut would probably turn into something pretty big for a vehicle... Perhaps even an airship?


There will probably be a summon per character, unless they are equipable and anyone can have them. In that case there may be many more. However so far it looks a lot like each person has a specific summon.


So yeah, so far it appears to be keeping with the summons considered classics in the FF series. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bahamut, Leviathan and maybe Ramuh or some others make a return.

Hmm good question. i think the following summons or better said i hope:
Bahamut
Ifrit
Shiva
Ixion
Leviathan
Odin
Fenrir
and Carbuncle
actually just my favs but well if they could but em in a FF game together that would be great!
 
To be honest I'm hoping a darker summon will jump in. Something like Anima or Hades. FFXII lacked a creepy summon.

Oerba seems to be the Carnbuncle summoner, because it showed her catching a disc and Carnbuncle jumping out. Maybe a little blue, luminescent bicycle for Gestalt Mode.

Oerba: *pant pant* Wait for meeee!

Anyway, the only playable character revealed yet who's summon hasn't been revealed is Hope, and for some reason I think Phoenix or Titan will be his summon.
 
I'm a little iffy on the transformations from beast to bike.... however if they didn't do anything new with the summons, they would just get boring... Anyway, I know only Odin and Ifrit are going to be in ff13.
 
The other summons (the ones not attached to the main characters) will likely be on either antagonists or optional characters (if there are any, though i doubt it). Here's hoping to see Bahamut as an independent boss...
 
I hope they just put all the best summons from all th games, that would make it fair and good. :D
But its basically sure that all the Classic ones will be in the game, which includes Ifrit Shiva Bahamut Ixion......

You have a fair few right in there, Carbuncle, Odin, Shiva, Ifrit, Siren and Bahamut have all been confirmed for being summons in Final Fantasy XIII. So far the summons are pretty solid, they seem to including the classics we're used to seeing, my only concern is Gestalt mode, I can live with the Odin and Shiva ones, they're pretty awesome and original.
 
What do you think will there be Ultima, Esper from FFXII? Or Zodiark? I'd like to see them both because they are powerful and I think it will be great to have them in party.

I think it is probably unlikely. The FFXII Espers / Tactics Advance Totema's / Zodiac are pretty exclusive to Ivalice. It might be possible for some of them to appear in other games, but it is unlikely.

The Ivalicean universe seems to have its own thing with summons among other things which is seperate from the other FF games.
 
So are these all the summons in the game? WE NEED MORE PLAYABLE CHARACTERS FOR MORE SUMMONS. But I am so LOOKING forward to this game! I just hope some more characters(playable ones) Get revealed. Im sure the new tattoed girl will only be playable for a certain amount of time till she betrays you. Just guessing though.
 
It would be awesome if they add Alexander, Ark and Diablo as new summons. I think it will be perfect for the game. Imagine how cool would they look in Montage Mode, especialy Alexander and Ark.

What about Eden from FFVIII? Or if Neo Bahamut. I think that will be be great that if in FFXIII will be Bahamut that he can turn in Neo Bahamut.

Aw, I forgot about Alexander. That was my first "favorite" summon. It would be great if they could bring it back.
 
As far as I know the summons in FFXIII are called Eidolons and 5 are confirmed.
These are:
Ifrit
Shiva
Siren
Carbuncle
Odin

We have to wait for the next Trailer to see if there are others.

yah my friend said that bahamut was confirmed and the wielder is a person who holds a spear.. i think the name is oerba yun fang..

and he also said that ifrit is not the name of sazh's summon.. the name is burnhild or burnhid or something like that..
