Different Breed™
Hey guys. I'm bored and writing has truely grown on me over the past week. I've had a great idea and I think after seeing the talent on this forum that it will work.
Below are the rules:-
Basics
1. Someone writes up to three paragraphs, conversations don't count as a paragraphs. The next person will then repeat the process, but blend his/her three paragraphs with the first persons.
2. Each person takes hold of a different characters point of view. For example, if I created a character named Bob. I would then tell the story through Bob's perspective
3. If a conversation erupts, the writer must judge from the characters creater what he would say. Example being:
Bob is a voilent young man, he has a troubled background and tends to bully those around him.
Jenifer is a nice girl, pure hearted and likes to help people.
"Jen, please. I've had enough of your constant crying and attention seeking. Go do it somewhere else!" Bob excalimed.
"I'm trying to help him. Can you not see that? I'm crying because I hate seeing people hurt," she replied as tears streamed down her face.
Advanced
1. As the perspective will change often, certain rules are set. If a character is to leave the scene, the paragraph to end the post must end in a sentence that leaves the options open to switch time or place. For example:
(In Bobs perspective)
"Come on I didn't mean it," he said as Jenifer ran out the house. He sat down demoralized by her words and held his head in his hands, "What have I done?" he mumbled.
(In Jenifers Perspectie)
Now running down the dark lanes crying, Jenifer decided to run to a close friends house. "I hate him so much!" she cried to herself. She ran for a few minutes and arrived at her friends house.
It's also plausible to use the 'Meanwhile' card or other words like it. Although it could end up in a battle between posters to get their character back into the main story line.
2. When all characters are in the same place and time, each poster has the same perspective and are in control of all characters, speech and actions.
3. If your character is currently out of the scene, you must go along with your character and use your imagination to judge what he/she would do.
4. You can send your character out of scene during your own post.
Character Creation
1. Each poster can only create one main character. Other characters can be made but must not be essential characters to the expanding storyline.
There are more rules that would be needed, but I take that people are smart enough to understand the game I'm trying to create.
So basically this game is about your character and his/her perspective. There is no main character, but a bunch of characters that we all follow. To start the game we need a basis for our story to begin. A prologue as such. If anyone is willing to create one please do.
Also I'll need to see some sign ups to see if this game will start. So please post here and check in if you are up for it. I'll then create another thread to begin.
Thanks XD
