On disc 1 & the begining of disc 2, the continent where Junon & Fort Condor are, are connected. When you recieve the Highwind though, there's a big hole there, and a lagoon type thing. This is where you find the Ultimate Weapon after you beat Dimond Weapon.

My question is this..........Where the hell did that hole come from??????
 
Thats something I've always ponderd over aswell, yet find no answers nor discussion about it anywhere.

The only thing we can go on is that it has been caused by the WEAPON's, seeing as it appears after they awake and run riot causing destruction.
 
Yeah, I was thinking it had something to do with the Saphire Weapon (The one who attacked Junon and got it's head blown off) I thought that the Sister Cannon might have made the hole when it fired at the Weapon the first time and missed. But the Cannon fired out to sea (west) not towards the land (east).

Something else comes to mind........when Tifa wakes up from her seven day rest in Junon, (right after the FMV of a the Weapons awakening) Barret says something about, "Weapons tearing shit up" to her. This could mean that Saphire Weapon wasnt the only Weapon that attacked that continent. As for the details.......your guesses are as good as mine.
 
Or just a crater created from a falling astriod. Nothing but a little imagination.
 
i remember the last time i played through the game it made sense to me why the hole was there, but now i forget. hehe
 
The hole is from when ultimate weapon crashed into the ground. (My assumption) There is also one in the water from emerald. Idk about the others though.
 
Right. Didn't ultima weapon crash after you fought it??

Well..you see, the truth is there was this giant invisible chupacabra that was angry at Cloud because he used up the last of his MEGA-Hold hair gel and didn't replace it. So It made a hole in the ground to show how displeased he was. duh.

And there was me thinking someone feed a Chocobo abit too much curry. Chocobo + Vindaloo = Mass destruction!

hmm....nuthin u just only find Ultima Weapon there, I have entered it with Gold Chocobo but nuthing happened
 
Maybe its where weapon took down the gilika aircraft ( where hades is) Cos they did say it held the most powerful anti sephiroth materia. So if that crashed it would of made a big bang right. Maybe it fell out of the plane just before it crashed and got blown up on impact.
