This has got me thinking... ashe actually met the Gods....

is there any place you can actually fight them in the game??

anyway.... surely this is a massive point in the game which has not been dept into great detail... surely with the gods now apparent there could be a new story where vanye gets killed by them and they take over and.. you and your party has to reclaim illvance (spelling) back with doctor cid?

could this have may been the original plot... but they had to cut down due to costs...

wasted oppunity in my view...

You sort of fight them at the end. SPOILERS

The game speaks of a legend which states that the gods withdrew into a "city of their own making", sounding as if the gods (in the Esper legends) are the Occuria. In the ensuing years, the Occuria use their Sun-Cryst, source of deifacted nethicite, to give power to particular humans over others, shaping history as a gardener shapes plants.

The Espers are created by the gods, but, led by Ultima, rebel against them (apparently this is the Thousand-Years War mentioned in Hashmal's Clan Primer description). The gods bind them into glyphs, forcing them to serve whoever summons them.

You see glimpses of the Occuria throughout the plot-line in their dwelling area. You see how Venat has rebelled against them and has gone off on his own to assist Dr. Cid and Vayne then at the end. Vayne merges with Venat for the final battle and form the "Undying" but it's mostly the form of Vayne...on steroids.

What I don't get is that basically after the Sun-Cryst is destroyed, you don't hear about the other Occuria at all. That's it; no more. It's just Venat, and that kinda left me confused and angry.

Yea, that kind of did suck. But the whole plot with the Occuria is dynamite. You just have to search for it. It's the only reason I'm trying to complete the bestiary is because it tells so much about it. It's cool though how they went to the Garif to influence them to control the world in their favor... but that the Garif couldn't harness the power. So that's why they went to Raithwall.

I wish we knew more about them. I don't think they're underdeveloped... just underexplained. Much like the rest of the game's characters.

This game would have probably been so much better, if they actually focused on the war between the Gods and the Espers.
