Has anyone played this game? I was going through mine, and I realised that this game has been in my collection for ages, and I've touched it like...once. Apparently it has a battle system that is not dissimilar to that of FFX, so I was wondering whether playing this game is worth it, or if I should just leave it on my pile? xD

It's a pretty decent game. Towards the end it got ridiculously easy however, and was a little tedious once you'd figured out the strategy that works against every enemy. But it's definitely worth playing it. And the battle system is pretty much identical to FFX.

I had this, but later sold it after finishing it. The above poster summed it up quite well. Plus it was quite short from what I can remember.

Its just worth completing it I suppose.

Rather good game with a combat system you could say thats ripped off from the FFX one. But as said above it dosn't have alot of replay value, its a good fame but you can only play it and properly enjoy it once unless your a die hard LOTR fan.

Thought I made a thread on this lol. Anyhoo, I love it to bits. Such a great RPG and its nice to finally play a turn based LOTRs game. Its one Ive had for years and will never part with.

I have this game on PS2 and GBA.
I really enjoy it on GBA but on PS2 its awesome :D

I have played the third age on PS2 and it wasn't a bad game, although it did kinda suck how you needed to have completed the levels as the good guys to get to play them as the baddies

yeah this game is quite good, finshed it a few times, now bad story and the gameplay is similar to ffx but you get in fights too oftern with ffx you will encounter one every like 30 seconds and i found that on a third age you will encounter one every few 10-15 seconds and that was rather annoying, good but annoying

The game is pretty good. The random fights occur really quickly and are not spaced out at all, and the pre-generated fights cause you sometimes to go long periods without being able to heal or adjust equipment on your guys. Other than that, it was good.

Oh, I love this game! I have it on the Gamecube and I've been meaning to finish it... The combat system was great, the story was pretty decent, the voice acting is quite good and the graphics weren't bad, though I did resume an old game recently and cringe at how one of the character's moved. :lew:

I played this game a long time before I actually sat down to play it. My brother owned it many many years ago and I took a whack at it, lost interested and left it at that. Years later I'm at Kira's and rather bored so I dig through her PS2 games to find this game again and decide to give it another go. I beat it completely and have to so that I absolutely love the game. It returned some of that good old RPG (as well as LotR) to my strictly shooter veins.
