the stone roses reunite at last

Hopefully?! I can't see much point in this reunion, especially considering they managed only one very good album and a rather acrimonious breakup the first time round. The idea of a new record...well I really can't see it being like when Portishead came back that's for sure.

But what an album it was. Perhaps all the goodwill from this will mean that the Happy Mondays reform, and Oasis, and more importantly The Smiths.
Mani has been in Primal Scream and Ian Brown has been doing his solo stuff, but I don't think the other two, Reni and someone else have been playing much music. It'll be interesting to see if that makes any difference. I hope they come to New Zealand, but bands just ignore it most of the time:rage:

im on ticket buying duty on friday ive been told ian brown is appalling live, but well, im sure this reunion wont last, they never do and i might as well go see them while i have the chance

"The Stone Roses, Manchester Heaton Park. Fastest selling rock gigs in UK history - all three nights sold out!

220,000 tickets sold in 68 minutes with the first two nights selling out in 14 minutes.

Ian Brown is overjoyed, saying: "We plan on spending the rest of the day jumping up and down with our hands in the air.""

that's a hell of a turnover for them. hopefully they can live up to it
