This moment scared me too

Was this the scariest moment for a lead character in the ff series?

When Squall gets hit by that huge icicle through his chest and falls down? I knew he wasnt dead but i thought hed be seriously injured......man that point in that game came out of nowhere and scared the heck out of me...........did this scare anyone else?
 
At the end of the game when he was having all those "flashbacks" at the same time, in that spacesuit when something seemed to have exploded on him, i thought he was dead right then and there right before the ending scenes came on and the song........did this scare anyone else? I seriously for the first time almost fell backwards off my chair!:huh:
 
Um, no that didn't scare me at all. And from my understanding, that was Rinoa in the spacesuit as her helmet exploded. (Hallucination, maybe?) Notice that Squall's tears came rushing down real quick.

I still don't fully understand the whole flashback scenes...I know it has to do with time, but it really confused me. But of course, there are many theories about the ending.
 
Well not really scared but more anxious, to be honest. xD
And yeah, Mitsuki practically voice my mind as well. :monster:
 
Er no. xD It was a bit shocking, yes...and totally unexpected, but it didn't scare me one bit. And like you, I knew he wasn't dead either. I mean, the game barely started, so I knew he was going to be alright. (The discs were rather short, if you ask me.)

The scene was a bit dramatic - what with Rinoa's reaction and all. Actually, I think that scene was one of my favorites.

Though I'm pretty sure that must've hurt him and some people who viewed it just because he was the main character and all.
 
it didn't scare or shock me, i mean obviously he wasn't dead and even if he was injured, what did that really matter? for some reason when it happened, i just sorta went meh, and put the 2nd disc in.
 
No, I didn't think it was the scariest thing to happen to a Final Fantasy character lol. I think there has been a lot worse than that actually. I knew he was going to live considering he is the main character and that was no where near the end of the game. That scene was very surprising though, very unexpected. I bet it hurt a bit! :P
 
Yeah.. I didn't really get scared by it, I was just confused and a little surprised as to what was going on. I didn't know what was going on, whether he was dead or just unconscious! I'm glad he was okay though lol, I knew he was alright after Rinoa came over to him. The look on her face made it obvious in my opinion.
 
It did shock me! I jumped and was like NO! Squall!!!
Lol, but then change disk and I calmed down.

I think Aeris getting a sword down the spine was more scary then that lol.
 
I did not find any moment of FFVIII to be scary although the music on Ultimecia castle was very good plus with the background dark sky and old castle gives me a bit of a rush which is great!

When Squall got pierced in the chest i really did not care because i knew the main character was not going to die although i really would have not cared if he died!
 
Yep, it was kinda' shocking
and it made me want to play the second disk even more...:D
I thought the first one would last longer...
 
Not really scared by this one, since it happened at the end of the first disc. I had faith that Square wouldn't pull an Aeris on the lead character.

One moment where I did feel kinda scared in FFVIII was when the three characters are in the Missile Base when it explodes. I couldn't think of how they might have evaded the explosion, so it left me questioning whether or not they had died and I'd be getting new characters to my party.

 Actually, I sat there and thought… Great, I spent all this time leveling up these three and she gonna waste all of them with some absurd attack.

Scared? No… Only confused as to why there’s a FMV showing Rinoa actually dieing in space. I took me a second time playing through the game to actually understand why we were seeing the certain events that we were shown in those FMV’s, but no, it didn’t shock or scare me…
 
The icicle didn't really scare me all that much >_<
at first i was like whoa squall got shanked.

this is the scene that scared me the most....

this shot is less than a second long, and it is seen right after Rinoa's helmet breaks in the ending. it creeps me out to no end.

It shocked me because I didn't know how serious the injury would be or what it would lead to. Of course though, the main character must live on and fight the good fight to rid the evil power ruining the world, etc.

I do want to see a main character actually die in an FF game here soon. I'm not sick and twisted like that, but it would be a shocker to see it actually take place.
 
Wasn't scared at all. They couldn't have killed the main character at the end of the 1st out of 4 discs. It would have been a nice twist...seeing how that ice chunk through his chest musta hurt him a bit, to put Squall back at level 1.
