Tidus and Yuna's relationship

When I first played FFX, I absolutely adored the relationship between Tidus and Yuna (I mean, c'mon. They would totally be high school sweethearts! ♥ or that's what I thought at first...), but the more I played, the more "eh" I got.
I mean, to me, it seems like they're bonding more of a brother-sister relationship throughout the game.

What's your opinion when it comes to their relationship? Good or bad? Hot or not? I'm curious if I'm the only one who wishes for Lulu and Tidus to hook up too....mohahahah >;D

P.S ....Newbie here..so if there's anything wrong with my thread, just tell me. XD
 
Noo they are lovers not brothers. They are both just shy and slow to admit how they actually feel. Yuna is a little saint, and Tidus is just nervous. I loved there relationship cause its exactly what i want. The scene where they finally kiss was one of my all time favorites, i couldnt stop smiling during or afer that.

and lolol at tidus and lulu hooking up. Lululs boobs are bigger than tidus. :pikamon:
 
Yeah Tidus is too young for Lulu, even if Yuna is a bit more mature than he is anyway. I reckon Tidus x Rikku was more on, seeing as she pretty much showed him the ropes when he rode Sin and ended up on that Al Bhed ship. If I was in his shoes I would've whacked the granny out of her, she was much better than Yuna.

I TOTALLY AGREE! Still, the fact that Lulu IS much older than Tidus and that the two of them hooking up is completely impossible makes it more appealing to little me!
But yeah, I actually hoped that Tidus and Rikku would end up together, because the two of them would make an epic relationship. They're both energetic and funny~
 
I love the relationship between Tidus and Yuna, like you said its like a highschool romance. To me they were made for each other, Tidus is a cocky wise-ass and Yuna is this innocent little flower. Opposites attract, so Im happy theyre together.
 
I completely aggree with the guys above, the fact that opposites attract, and I like their relationship very much.....considering it also continues on into X-2 etc.
I wouldn't have minded a ''new'' sort of Final Fantasy where you could have chosen which girl to ''go'' with =) ( the scene b4 leaving fr kilika suggests something like that, it shows Yuna and Rikku basically ''fighting'' over Tidus(LUCKY)
Possible alternatives??
1. If you don't like yuna you could pick somone else
2. If you think the main character would be better off with a different partner...or...
3. perhaps experience each romance story on a different playthrough, I think that would be awesome....hehe
Anyways I like all the girls in FFX Yuna, Lulu cuz of the obvious......*AHEM* and of course Rikku.....Which happens to be my favourite character in FFX......she's hot, she's funny and she's sensitive <3 <3 <3
PS: I kinda hoped Tidus and Rikku would......you know......

I do agree about Tidus and Yuna...

I did want Rikku to find someone...

maybe someday I'll get around to writing that story about her I thought about a few years ago..a sequel to FFX-2...

I think that they are cute together. And then there is the fact that Tidus always tries to make Yuna happy. That could be a contributing factor. I chose Lulu in Guadosalam and what she said made me laugh, so no. And Rikku? No, that would never work.
 
With the weight of the worlds happiness on her shoulders Yuna needed her own happiness to come from an outside source:TIDUS, and he did what he could to make her happy, in a world he knew nothing of and a foreign way of life he found a way to get her to smile.

And thats what makes them such a great FF couple........Lulu might just be Fan service, but she was a better match with Auron IMO, and Tidus and Rikku would have been great as well!

. Oooohh What a Scary Relationship... (SHUDDERS). Well We knows who wears the pants in that Relationship. But Roger That on the TidusxRikku Hookup, cause when she was lying on the beach and took off that Al Bhed uniform i was thinking Tidus you better get with her.
 
Tidus and Yuna are almost on par with Cloud/Tifa, they are possibly a better received couple than Sqaull/Rinoa........I think S-E went with the Main Male character and the quircky Chick with Vaan/Penelo, but nobody really cared enough!
 
I think for them........Yuna and Tidus the relationship was bigger and strong than that of cloud/tifa and aeris...........They did base the whole game of FFX-2 all on mainly Yuna seeking for tidus after she found a sphere about him.........As well as vegnugun.......But she is mainly seeking tidus along with defeating vegnegun.
 
I thought it was a sweet relationship. Though when I first played, I thought of them as just really close friends than an item up until that kiss scene. I find Yuna and Tidus' relationship cute more so than hot and sexy. Though if he went out with Lulu, that would have been a different story. ROFL.

I did feel kinda bad for Rikku. She's such an awesome character, it's no fair that she didn't get a lover too. But then again, she always has Gippal.XD
 
I found that at the beginning of there relationship they seemed like they had a brother/sister relationship with the whole whistle thing but by the end i found that their relationship progressed into love. Tidus and Yuna make the best couple out of Yuna, Lulu, and Rikku. Tidus's relationship with Lulu and Rikku just doesn't go as far as it does with Yuna.
 
In my opinion, Tidus only treats Yuna more like a sister during the beginning of the game because of Wakka's warning- ie, don't get in the way of her Pilgrimage. But they become closer, so there's no way of there being a sibling-style relationship because they end up kinda crazy about each other
 
I really like them, and I feel they work really well. Tidus and Lulu definitely doesn't work for me, I could never see either caring for each other on a romantic level. They would probably both use each other's bodies...haha, but beyond that, no. And Tidus and Rikku...I don't know, I guess it's implied that it was possible, since Tidus dreamed about her, and he tried to act all cool in front of her when they first met at the beginning of the game, but honestly, I just can't see it. They are more like brother/sister, in my opinion. They have that sort of vibe in their dialogue.

Like someone else said, Tidus and Yuna are somewhat opposites. Tidus is loud and obnoxious, Yuna is reserved and shy. But they both share the same drive and determination for what they believe in, and they seem to compliment the opposite traits of one another. I think it works out really well. And if Tidus had never fallen in love with Yuna, would he have fought as hard to change the way the summoners had been going about destroying Sin?

...but in all seriousness, I love the relationship between Yuna & Tidus. It's realistic in how they speak to each other and act. They are both shy, nervous but very supporting. Willing to keep an open mind and speak out due to possible influences on each other. Like Yunas devotion to Yevon. When Tidus questioned it, Yuna came to think more about the situation she was in.​

I've never really thought of Tidus & Lulu before. To me, age isn't important in a relationship if they are at least legal age when dating someone 20+. However, I felt Lulu was more motherly than romanticly loving. It would make a very interesting pair to say the least! :3​

Mm, I dunno. Lulu and Tidus seemed more of a teacher-student thing to me, or much older sister to younger brother. The way she explains things to Tidus all time, I honestly couldn't see it happening. I wouldn't oppose those who are into it, but it doesn't seem plausible to me.

As far as Rikku and Tidus, to be honest, I thought it was going to happen when I first played the game. The way he boasted how he was the star player and all. Then when Yuna came into the picture, I was sad Rikku was gone at first. I really thought they were better together.

But then when they talked during the bonfire and the boat rides, I quickly changed my mind. When Yuna danced in Kilika, Rikku was forgotten. (Because I wasn't great at time management, and I thought Rikku wasn't ever going to show up again. xD)

After awhile, I realized that Tidus was naturally boastful and loved to showoff. Rikku actually seemed more mature than Tidus, at least in X.

Then Yuna and Tidus' "relationship" or bond upped a gear during:
1) Her showing him she could finally whistle in Luca
and 2) the Mi'ihen Highroad talk.

The second one was my favorite when Yuna didn't immediately laugh after Tidus mocked Mika's voice. I honestly didn't notice the development until my second playthrough. But when I did, it sealed the deal.

I like the Tidus and Yuna relationship. They're cute together, and the way I see it, they have a lot in common. They both have strong convictions and always strive for the greater good. They also have nonexistent relationships with their fathers.

Though to be honest, when I first played the game, I didn't think Tidus and Yuna would actually have any sort of relationship. So the Macalania scene was a surprise... o_o

The first playthrough, it felt sudden because I missed the details.
