Yep you heard right Toonami is coming back to us after ten long tomless years, Adult Swim finally pulled their head from their bum and brought it back.

http://www.adultswim.com/shows/toonami/index.html

No idea if they'll be showing classics or new stuff but I don't care I'm just happy to have it back since I grew up with Toonami.

Hope people see this :O

well

i certainly hope that they don't make him air tim and eric shithouse show. crap actually makes you give two fucks about viewer ratings :neomon:

gimme gimme gundam and yu yu hakusho :elmo:

Aye Agreed there L I better not see Tim and Eric or any other of that shit on this new Toonami, better be Yu Yu, Gundam, Tenshi, Outlaw and maybe some newer stuff >> <.<

Yeah if Tim and Eric were on there, that would be god awful.

But Im glad it's back for the reason that it may expose more people to anime and get them into it. Thing is, there are so many avenue's now such as netflix, crunchyroll, funimation and viz streaming sites and youtube channels, hulu, etc ect, that Im not sure how relevant Toonami will be anymore.

Plus, I doubt with it starting up so soon that it will be new anime, at least at first. If they could get some licenses from Funimation, Sentai, Viz, or Media Blasters, it would be pretty cool though.

I know for a fact there's gonna be some original programming along with some new programming, at least new anime. Methinks anime that doesn't get the airtime it needs, will most likely be apart of that.

i sure hope they show DBZ and not the crappy DBZ Kai. Yu-Yu Hakusho also wouldn't be bad. Gundum is a plus, zoids, Also, showing Tsubasa would be my love <3

Bringing Toonami back is definitely a move to cater to the older viewers. I mean, Saturday has been anime night for a while now. It would just be wrong if they kept all the regular anime they show and just slapped "Toonami" on it. Hopefully it will be a mix of new and old shows.

Pretty much just going to echo what everyone else has already said here. I grew up with Toonami, I would stay up way passed my 9pm bedtime as a kid just to watch Tenchi Muyo and Trigun and shit. Later on it was all about Yu Yu Hakusho and whatnot. Ah memories ...
Toonami was basically the first program to ever expose me to anime and I've been secretly hooked ever since. But I'm just hoping that they acquire some licenses to air a mixture of old programs for the older viewers and for nostalgic purposes as well as some more obscure titles. I want to be wowed into watching something that I've never heard of, pleasantly surprised if you will. If they do a mixture of older classics such as Gundam Seed, Tenchi Muyo, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop, Big O, etc. then that will surely pull in older viewers and then if they were to mix that with newer anime like Soul Eater, One Piece, Naruto Shippuden, Strait Jacket, etc. they would pull in a different demographic. It's a win, win that way in my eyes personally.

still love it after 10 years
