how do i get this damn tournesol ive been tryin and tryiun to get all the items and i already have 600,000 gil. so what the fuck do i do?:squall:
 
You need: 3 Gemsteel, 3 Empyreal Soul, 3 Serpentarius to sell, then the "Sunflower" is available from Bazaar, which is the Toursenol.

To get Gemsteel you'll need: 1 Scarletite, 2 Damascus stell, 2 Hell Gates Flames, sell them, and a Gemsteel will be available from Bazaar, so basically in all, you'll need 3 Scarletite, 6 Damascus Stell and 6 Hell gates flames (make sure you sell them in sets, not all at once otherwise you'll only get ONE gemsteel for the lot)

To get Empyreal Soul you need: 2 War God's Bands, 1 Soul Powder, 1 High Arcana ( so again 6 WGB, 3 Soul powder, 3 high arcana)

To get Srpentarius you need: 1 High Arcana, 4 Snake Skin, 2 Serpent eye (so 3 HA, 12 Snake skin, 6 serpent eye all together)

I'll expand on what DLFlux said - Hell's Gate Flame's are acquired from fighting Cerberus' in the Feywood. The Monograph is required for it to drop....although you can poach it without the use of the Monograph. Wargod Bands are acquired from the horse-like monsters in the Neberus Deadlands. Snake Skin's are acquired rom the Serpent in Giza Plains (dry). Scarletite is obtained from the giant tortoise in the Deadlands too.

You can steal Scarletite at an easier rate from the RG turtle in the Cerobi Steppe (I think it is) but have to zone back 2 maps screens after each steal.

BUT discovered a much easier way get an infinite amount of them, once you've finished the fishing mini game (got the liu shang's badge is it called?) then if you fish in the final area and get a perfect so you can fish up treasure, you'll either get Scarletite or Adamtite. Which is pretty cool, Scarletite for Tournesol, and Adamtite for Bubble Belts. :)
 
Ah yes..I totally forgot about the fishing mini-game rewards. Regardless, as long as you beat all the Espers you'll receive one of each of the required materials for the Tournesol. That leaves two left for each of them.

I recommend obtaining all Monographs, but the main ones you need are Hunter's, Warmage's and Knight's. Another Serpentarius can be stolen from Zodiark, Empyreal Soul can be stolen from the Lv99 Red Chocobo and Gemsteel can be drooped from the Chocobo.

A word of warning though; make sure you sell the Empyreal Soul's last, because they also contribute to the making of another Masamune. (not a bad thing seeing as its a better sword in many aspects, but that's not what you're after)
