Two of the greatest video game composers of all time (or at least most prolific), Nobuo Uematsu, the man behind the Square tunes, and Koji Kondo, the creator of the music for many of Nintendo's famous franchises. Who is your favourite? What is your favourite soundtrack by each? Favourite song? Thoughts??

Man, that's difficult >_< FF songs are just fantastic, Uematsu is a great composer, each game has a song that is so special to me and it's really hard to choose my favorite FF soundtrack. Koji Kondo is another genius of video game music, I mean I grew up listening to Zelda songs ^^ And come on, it's Nintendo we're talking about. Most of us started playing video games on a SNES. So despite my love for Final Fantasy and Uematsu's music, I'll go with Kondo. Zelda fascinates me since immemorial times XD

As hard a decision as this is...Uematsu. I could listen to his music all day. In fatc i am right now :P. His music just sticks with me. I'll place a song, and it brings back memories of when i played that area, *snaps* like that.

I've learned what i could about the man through research also. I'd love to meet him one day.

Uematsu, easily. Kondo's a great composer don't get me wrong but Uematsu has something much more about his music that Kondo's and I don't particularly like the fast, bouncy pace of Kondo's either. The music is great on the games themselves, but for listening purpose only, Uematsu wins. :)

Uematsu is my favorite video game composer. The music he has created for Final Fantasy has shaped my memories of the games almost as much as the stories themselves. I can listen to his music all day, and the ways he captures moments or feelings in the games is amazing.
