The way that Vayne presents himself to the people of Rabanastra, and the way Larsa speaks about him, doesn't it make it seem that Vayne is an inappropriate villian for this story?

IMO, the way that the story plays itself out in this game, and due to the fact that there's really not a focus on Vayne, it seems that Vayne would be better suited as an unlikely ally, rather than the main antagonist of the story.

Your thoughts...........

Up until the end of the game, I didn't realize that he was even a bad guy. Larsa made him out to be a considerate person. =\

The first time I played the game, I expected him to join your party against the Occuria or something. The first time he speaks with Migelo, he seemed so humble; it was almost like he would be an ideal ally for you to join forces with.

Even at the end of the game, he seems so proper. You almost don't want to kill him.

The whole game just didn't seem very well developed. The characters and story and all. I didn't know he was going to turn out to be the final boss.

I'm not really critisizing the story. The story and the game are actually pretty good, it just takes a little getting use to. It was much better the second time I played it. I just feel that Vayne was incomplete as a character. He might've made a great villian if he had more of a story to him. But the way he presented himself, confidently and proper, I never really saw him as a villian, or even as a threat.

How could you not guess he was a villain? If you paid enough attention to the cutscenes, you would have figured out that his "humble" facade may just have been a ploy to get to be top dog. If he genuinely meant well, then power must have deluded his thoughts. Then again, what man does not get deluded by power..

How did I know that Lisa would step in and clear this up.

Actually, I just played through the part where Vayne's own father warns against him. He says something about his sons waring again.

Yes, you're right, the cut scenes do inicate that he's a "villian", but due to the fact that there are so few of them in the game, only his humble persona stands out.

And if we're really arguing the subject, Vayne's intentions weren't really evil in my eyes. Sure he started a war, killed his father, tried to eradicate a country and kill his own kid brother..................................................
..............................................................................wow that's actually pretty evil. I wonder why I don't really see him as villianous. Probably because he lacked more of a past or story to go along with him.

And yes, I did guess he was a villian, but he didn't really fit the role as main antagonist for the story.

I don't know... why don't you ask your own set of testies, racist. Hillbilly.

Gosh, I have to agree with you about not seeing him as a villian though. What freaking game did you people play not to realize he was bad? He was clearly cut from the cloth of a very bad man. However, that being said, he still did have the same overall intent as the main characters... even if his methods of achieving that goal were gruesome, gorey, and violent. The end might have well carried this dialogue:

Vayne: Oh noes! Venat, I could not do what I promised you!
Venat: Actually, the manly girl in the pleather skirt already did it...
Vayne: We must fight!
Venat: For no apparent reason!
*Combat*
*Game end*

I really didnt think he'd be the last boss. sure i expected to fight him but not at the end. as far as the story goes gabranth should've been the last boss coz he killed reks!!

I don't know, I always viewed Vayne as the perfect evil Politician.

- Wonderful speeches full of half promises and double talk...

- A complete set of hidden agendas...

- Plenty of pawns to do your dirty work...

- Last but not least. Wealth, Power and World domination...
