As we all know, all the main characters of FFX have their own job/class, for example:

Auron: Samurai
Tidus: Warrior
Lulu: Black Mage
Yuna: White Mage
Rikku: Thief
Kimahri: Blue Mage

But what about Wakka? what would you class Wakka as in this game?

If you're talking in terms of his battle abilites, he was the status-inflicter (Dark Shot etc.)
But as a character, he was the strong one, who the other characters could look to for support which came through his being captain of the Aurochs.

Yeah I suppose he was. I think this class in FF Tactics Advance was an elementalist.

Yeah, status specialist, I agree with that.
Since there really isn't any other class that he could fit into unless you make one yourself.
I mean, he's a ranged guy, but he's not exactly or even vaguely an archer either. :monster:

I would put him as the archer, myself. Even back in FFIV Rosa had arrows that inflicted status. So yeah, he's the ranged fighter, but much stronger than your average one.

An archer? I guess you could put him in that kind of category along with a status inflictor. All good.

Wakka seemed to have a unique style of his own though.

Id call him a ranger/archer but with a blitzball ^_^
He does have his status effects and they come in handy plus he has the best overdrive in the game so he is a good damage dealer as well

I always thought of Wakka as the Blitzball guy! I barely used him in battle but I do know he does cause a few status ailments here and there. Other wise I am not too sure, he had a unique weapon to all of the other characters and was rather powerful if you leveled him up a lot. The only time I used him was for inflicting ailments on flying enemies and such, he was very useful then!

I'd say Grey Mage it's not really a conventional class I just made it up but it mixes White magic (status such as Regen and Protect) and Black Magic (obviously damage) mix 'em up and voila Grey Magic that does damage and status effects.

Wakka is the strongest char in FFX ... those blitz reels dished out 12 x 99 999

thats insane lol.. he dominated that arena place.. but all my chars were lvl 99 and even yunas basic attack with the staff did 99 999 dmg.

And why the hell was it that the last boss the little spider pos had only 99 999 life? he died in 1 shot i think, cant rememmber but yeah it was far too easy..

I think it's safe to say that I'll never class Wakka as a Grey Mage...

I'll agree with the majority of people who have Posted here, Wakka is a mix between a ranged ("Archer") fighter and a "Status Inflicter"

I'd go more with Archer as well since he can reach almsot anything outta range that no one besides Lulu can hit with her Black Magic. Otherwise I'd give him the Warrior label as well since he's full power and strength when he gets souped up.

Its a shame most people dont have wakka in their main party.. he is truly the strongest FFX char and he looks goofy talks goofy wat more could u want hahaha hes a good char

I don't know if this counts as a "class" per say, but Wakka seemed to me to be the token, all around average FF character. Quite similar to Barrett in FFVII, Zell in FFVIII, and Freya in FFIX. Basically, someone who is either the powerhouse in the beginning that is eventually replaced by someone better, or someone who comes into your party later in the game, starting off worse than your primary party. Wakka fits the former category.
