J found threads for WOW and Defense of the ancients but not necessarily the PC games

K this is mainly to discuss the PC games and not WOW.

I've only played Warcraft 3 but I do want to play Warcraft 2. This is one of my favorite PC games. I really liked all the characters and the story line. And I use to have an addiction to building towns and armies D: And the cinetematic graphics were beautiful for the time.

I am however disappointed that Blizzard decided to conclude the story in WOW. I would personally rather defeat Arthas by building up a huge army and use characters from the lore to kill him. Rather than spend hours getting geared and hoping for a group that won't fail XD. I am also not happy with how certain characters met their end in WOW...

I beat both Warcraft 1 and Warcraft 2, and tried getting through Warcraft 3 before getting stuck on one mission halfway through the campaign. Taking an army of dragons and blowing the crap out of the Humans in the final Orc campaign mission in Warcraft 2 was particularly memorable. I put a video of it on Youtube, actually. In the first game (where I played as Humans), all you had to do was bunker up and throw Elementals at enemy bases. The computer wasn't particularly smart in those days and never bothered to build a decent base defense.

Neither of those first games were as fun and customizable as Starcraft or the early Command and Conquer games. Other than for historical value they probably aren't worth your time.

I have yet to play WOW, but that's another story.

I definetely love Warcraft III. I love playing as the orcs, and always chose the Tauren Chieftain in Multiplayer games before I installed the Frozen Throne expansion. When I did that, I usually went right to the Shadow Hunter, then hired a Pit Lord at the Tavern, and then usually the Tauren Chieftain when I get to Fortress. I never had luck beating computer Undead players, but I never stop trying.

Warcraft 1 was waaaay to slow. Took forever for anything to really happen.

Warcraft 2 defined the series. Great difficulty great story, great gameplay. Really just a solid package. Not surprised since it came out around the same time as Diablo 2 which is still one of the most played games in the world.

WC3 was good. Great for customizability of mp levels. The campaign was also pretty epic. I played DotA more than anything in this game.

Heh so you like the RTS aspect of the gaming. I don't blame you although you can always read the lores online somewhere. Well personally I was a huge WC2 fan, it was the first online RTS besides Command and Conquer: Red alert 2 that I played, and it was a blast for me.

Now as far as Warcraft 3, there were things I liked in it and things I really hated in it to be honest. The thing about blizzard is they came out with such an amazing title like star craft, and when they tried to come out with Warcraft 3 I thought it was very rushed. I mean they made many corrections later on, but I still hated the fact you could mass out one type of race and then back it with a hero, and go nuts.

When the game first came out, only one allegiance could zerg it seemed as well, so if I was stuck with someone who zerged and I had no defense.. then of course I was in a sour mood. The combat seemed a bit slower as well, but I was assuming that's because of the graphic upgrades and such.

After a good year though, frozen throne came out and to me it was fun again. So overall I preferred WC2 to WC3 but WC3 is still good on many levels. The heros were a big plus.
