The music of Final Fantasy is absolutely breathtaking for fans and non-fans alike. It is what makes the series so special and exciting. What are your favourite 10 pieces of music from the series and what game they are from?

Mine:
  • Duel- Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
  • Clash On The Big Bridge- Final Fantasy V
  • One Winged Angel- Final Fantasy VII
  • Backfire- Final Fantasy Tactics
  • Trisection- Final Fantasy Tactics

There are so many FF pieces that I absolutely adore so it's super difficult to narrow down to a top five, but I'll suck it up and give it a go!

1. Night of Seclusion - Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core ( The violin in this piece pulls my heartstrings every time!)
2. Compression of Time - Final Fantasy VIII (Recommend checking out TPR's cover of this, spectacular!)
3. Rem Tokimiya - Final Fantasy Type-0 ( Big fan of Ishimoto's work as you can see).
4. Sultana Dreaming - Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn (Guaranteed to hit you in the feels)
5. The Promised Land - Final Fantasy VII Remake (Love the version from Advent Children, but the Remake brought it to a whole new level - sounds super discordant and weird and I like that)

Ugh, I hate top 5's because I feel like it changes all the time, I like different songs for various reasons, and I somehow forget about other songs  Here's the first top 5 songs that I could think of in the moment, ranked in an order of favorites! (I tried!)

1. You're Not Alone - Final Fantasy IX
Maybe it's habit to reach for this one first because I love FFIX but I love this song for the moment they chose.
2. The Price of Freedom - Final Fantasy Crisis Core
I love Night of Seclusion as well, but I love how strong the guitar gets in The Price of Freedom!
3. The Four Medallions - Final Fantasy IX
Love the fast tempo. You only ever hear it for a brief moment in the game! Oeilvert is a close second as well, but Four Medallions came to mind first.
4. The Great Warrior - Final Fantasy VII
The melody 👌
5. Decisive Battle - Final Fantasy X
I feel like this is satisfying as battle music.

I don't know how I feel about my list, I feel like I'm missing important songs, but I really enjoy all of these either way :) I always have a harder time than I should deciding which is my absolute favorites.

Oh... My post is gonna be so biased. :lew:

  1. The Great Warrior - Final Fantasy VII.
  2. Anxious Heart - Final Fantasy VII.
  3. Tifa's Theme - Final Fantasy VII.
  4. The Place I'll Return Someday - Final Fantasy IX.
  5. Fighting - Final Fantasy VII.

I know... I know... It's true though!

Genuinely made me laugh!
Anxious Heart is such a chill piece though, it totally zens me out ♥

I honestly do not have a solid top five.

These are more realistically just the first five of my favourites that I could think of off the top of my head. The list could easily change if I was to try again next week. Or maybe even tomorrow. I simply love too much Final Fantasy music!

1. You’re Not Alone, Final Fantasy IX. FFIX’s soundtrack in general is great, but this track really does stand out for me. The one scene where it is played uses it so well. It’s uplifting during a moment of darkness, and it’ll always be associated with one of the franchise’s most well-received scenes.

2. Coin Song, Final Fantasy VI. One of my favourite scenes in the franchise, and a beautiful track.

3. Lifestream, Final Fantasy VII. Another strong soundtrack in general, but this one is one of several which summarise the themes of the game very well.

4. To Zanarkand, Final Fantasy X. I think this track only truly gains its emotional significance towards the end. But when it does, it truly packs a punch.

5. Neath Dark Waters (Amaurot’s theme), Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. The real reason this relaxing theme means so much to me is filled with spoilers. But those who have played Shadowbringers will know.

Might come back another day and add my five other favourite tracks, and so on...

Not strictly top five because these are in no particular order, but here they are...

Something from FF14. There's quite a few... Doesn't matter if it's by Soken or Uematsu. Different styles, but both good. Soken tends to sound very modern rock while Uematsu seems to focus on orchestral styles.

Fisherman's Horizon from FF8. Same music plays in Raine village.

Eyes On Me of FF8.

Maybe I'm A Lion of FF8.

Something from FF7. Quite a few. I'd say... Tifa theme!

oh boy let's see.... I'll pick my personal goosebump-inducing tracks

  1. Dust to Dust - Final Fantasy XIII
  2. Vermillion Fire - Final Fantasy Type-0
  3. Insanity - Final Fantasy XIV (Shadowbringers)
  4. Moment of Recall - Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
  5. The Price of Freedom - Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core

Aiight I'll post. There's no real order here.
  • "Blinded By Light", XIII.
  • "A Place to Call Home", IX (it's short, but this would include every variant under an umbrella. I just like the progression bro).
  • "To Zanarkand", X
  • "Tifa's Theme", VII:Remake
  • "Fight with Seymour", X (this one is just kinda weird and I really jive with it).

Some honourable mentions:
  • Via Purifico, X
  • Ridess the Shoopuf, X
  • The Promise, XIII
  • Terra's Theme, VI.
