My first Square Enix franchise was Dragon Quest. It is Square Enix's flagship franchise other than Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest make up Square Enix's big two. I was introduced to Dragon Quest in 1989 when it was then called Dragon Warrior. Unfortunately, the Dragon Quest franchise has a disappointing release record in terms of region and platform. I was introduced to Final Fantasy six years after I was introduced to Dragon Quest. After 1989, I did not play a Dragon Quest game again until the year 2000. I listen to Dragon Quest music (mostly the orchestrated versions) as well as Final Fantasy music.

Mine was right away a Final Fantasy series. FFIV. I stopped too, cos' i couldn't advance a part..
I have Dragon Warrior too. But it got corrupted as i was training my characters to be of the class i want them to be.. What a pity though, ha ha.

Final Fantasy for me. Final Fantasy IV was actually my first RPG. I've been a fan of the series ever since. xD

I'm pretty sure it was Final Fantasy III for the SNES and then I played Final Fantasy II for the SNES.

Then again it could have been Chrono Trigger (Even though I still had the two Final Fantasy games - I liked watching my mom play the games when I was younger too) - so yeah, it was either Chrono Trigger (the one I voted for) or Final Fantasy III.

Secret of Mana was actually the first RPG/adventure game that I ever played. I still love the game!

I'm pretty sure it was Final Fantasy III for the SNES and then I played Final Fantasy II for the SNES.
Final Fantasy II and III for the SNES are actually Final Fantasy IV and VI respectively.

My first game was ff9, I only recently started playing dragon quest.(quest of the cursed king)I can't get into it much and I prefer my ff over it and only play it briefly.

for me it was fft the game was really good but hard to understand due to the fact that i played it right when it came out

FFVII, purely because it was the first Final Fantasy I had heard of but since then I have taken time to play the majority of the older games including the SNES Final Fantasy's but FF was the first franchise to set me off playing other SE series.

Definetly Final Fantasy 1 was my first game but at the time it was still square soft if i remember right. I enjoyed it immensely as my first RPG ever to this day.

Now that I look back on it, it was strange how fast they made an rpg franchise out of it. We had our Red Mage, Black Mage, Blue Mage, White Mage, Warrior, Thief combo. And as the story goes on you gain yourself a boat, airship, alot of magic, and you finally get a promotion where the characters grow older.

That's what I miss the most about games, promotions. Fun seeing the character progress from a kid to an adult literally.

Final Fantasy Legend I-III are actually part of the SaGa series. Final Fantasy Adventure is Seiken Densetsu 1, and it was later remade as Sword of Mana (Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu in Japan). I was introduced to Dragon Quest, SaGa, and Soul Blazer before I was introduced to Final Fantasy.

I believe it was Final Fantasy, if I remember correctly. I haven't been playing games for very long until I turned 12, which is when I was introduced to Final Fantasy VII.

For me I guess it was just Final Fantasy....

I tend to not always remember who made or sponsered the game though, so it might have been something else. XD

Mine was Final Fantasy. The first one I actually played, I believe, was Final Fantasy VII, but I didn't get very far into it. I dabbled in VIII and X, and the first one I actually completed was XII, lol. I know, I'm pathetic. But I've completed VII and X since then.

I also had a Dragon Warrior game for my gameboy color a long time ago, too, I think... maybe. It might have been something else, but I'm pretty sure it was Dragon Warrior.

*well for little ol me my first square franchise was my first final fantasy game :) the classic FF 1 of course! :)

*whats interesting about it is i still like to play it even now,i guess i miss the feel of the classic grand adventure of unknown heroes only with class jobs to save the world :)
