Inspires you. Whether it be to read, write, draw, RP, or just the music that makes you get up and go in the morning.

Mine has to be Paramore. They have such passionate songs and they often inspire me to write.

Also the battle themes from the FFX ost often get me inspired.

It really depends on the situation. :hmmm:

For writing, it's usually Zepp, Floyd, Mars Volta or Enya. Enigma and the LotR soundtrack are good as well. :dave:

I often listen to music while I'm getting ready for work and I guess it depends on the mood I'm in for that. I try to listen to something energetic to get myself moving. :lew:

Same here. It's usually rock, heavy metal, or even rapid dance music that keeps me going in the morning. :lew: I've been told some of the music taste I have is good, and a lot is awful. :8F:

Hmmmmmm theres not really any band i would say in particular that inspires me.
When im working in photoshop i tend to listen to my favourite bands.

Jimmy eat world

Biffy clyro

Lostprophets

Theres no doubt i can concentrate better when im listening to music that i really like. What usually often inspires me though is when i hear a new song and a lyric will just stick in my head. That lyric then gives me ideas for something in photoshop.
Photoshop-wise im more inspired by what i see rather than what i hear.

If its inspiration for my guitar. jimmy eat world and biffy are the bands that inspire me most.

Whenever I'm about to go into a challenge, whether it be exams or going into a hard days work, I always listen to a song that gets me look towards the future. An example is Ready Steady Go by L'arc~en~ciel, or maybe a rock instrumental track like Bullet Proof Cupid by Placebo. Album openers usually does the trick of inspiring me to go forwards.

In terms of FF music, nothing gets me up more than Ahead On Our Way from FFV.

All kinds of music.

However, if I'm writing with lots of drama in, then I have a playlist with instrumental music with artists such as Immediate Music and Two Steps From Hell.

Indeed, all kinds inspire me to wrtie or get on with my life and not sit on the "pity pot" as my dad calls it XD Its usually Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars or Final Fantasy VIII OST that gets me going. Disturbed and Mindless Self Indulgence get me awake in the morning for work lol.

A lot of viking/pagan metal music makes me feel connected to my Germanic ancestors, if that counts as anything.

It varies from genre to genre, really. At the moment for writing and just getting up in the morning, it's got to be dance/euro-dance/house. Last week it was underground rap sooo yeah it constantly changes.

Nice thread. =)

I'll have to say that Paramore (huh, getting back into the Paramore phase again) has inspired me most. Along with Jimmy Eat World they're just a band with lyrics I definitely enjoy listening to.

Paramore just has a lot of songs that take me back to certain memories, not even rough times tbh, just good times also, my trip to America for example, :lew: Lost and lonely on the airport, while listenening Born For This. :wacky: Really gives you that "I'ma survivah!".

Whether it be Photoshopping, writing, doing anything that needs inspiration, I'll definitely have my favourite bands on.

Paramore, Jimmy Eat World, You Me At Six, Biffy Clyro and The Cure being the ones that happen to be playing most. Awesome and i inspiring ng bands. <3

Fast-paced music usually inspires me to get up and move to the gym or take a run :wacky: It gets me pumped and ready. I dreaaddd working out :gonk: so rock music helps me there xD (for the most part; gets me pumped (ie: Headstrong- Trapt Resistance- Muse etc etc)

Any songs that I have a connection to lyrically would also inspires me. It all varies depending on the situation i guess. :hmmm:

When I roleplay with friends or write a story I always listen to instrumental music, also to prevend me from being distracted because I have the urge to sing with it.
The Instrumental music are mostly Naruto Shippuuden OST's for sad and battle music, Two steps from hell (a new fave) and Immediate music for horror, drama and action. But also game soundtracks like Uncharted 2 whenever I reach an adventure part.
Two steps from Hell also inspires me to make new AMV's.

When I draw it's mostly music with vocals, I then just click on the music I feel like listening to most and it doesn't matter if it's metal or pop music.

When I have to get out to get groceries or whatever then I mostly listen to music with a nice beat to walk on.

I don't tend to do any of that often. That is not due to lack of inspiration, but due to lack of ability to write / draw / graphic anything to a semi-decent quality.

Some artists that have been known to inspire ideas in me include Dead Can Dance, Stereolab, Absurd Minds and David Bowie. I wouldn't claim that they have influenced my mind a lot though, and I guess that anything that I listen to (or indeed anything that I do) inspires me to an extent.

I never make an effort to try and listen to a particular artist in order to inspire something in me. If it was to come to me then it would come to me spontaneously, and then I'd develop an idea with thought. Sitting there listening to music rarely does anything for me in terms of inspiring me. I'm usually too focused on trying to enjoy the song.

I'm sadly one of those people that finds it hard to work with distractions such as music playing the background. If I want to write something then I have to turn all of my music off and try and concentrate.

It all depends on the RP in question. For sci-fi based RPs, I actually find that Krypteria works very well. If the RP/fanfic is fantasy-based, I typically have Rhapsody of Fire going. For pirate stuff; there can be only Alestorm. As for the superhero type RPs and Fanfics; it all depends on the setting.

I will add that one of my best RP posts ever was written while listening to Rhapsody of Fire, and there was something about the way the post read that if you listened to "Holy Thunderforce", the music actually fit the pacing and theme of the post. I'm still quite proud of the little thing :p
