So i was woundering who would you pick a sparkly vampire that some people call gay(lol) or a real vampire who doesnt sparkle, doesnt date mary sues and is flippin awesome.

Could you post these videos for us?

And I definitely think that Alucard is a better vampire because he is an actual vampire that possesses all the traits that a typical vampire should have.

On the other hand Edward is a very unique vampire. I do like it when people create their own individual things that makes it all the more interesting. However I don't think that Edwards version of a vampire was too intriguing.

Yeah he sparkles in the sunlight but that's all really. I do like that he's a vegan though. Makes it interesting. =P

Eh either way I'm not a fan of either so it's a tie for mwah!

Ironic thing is, Alucard isn't 'real' either, it's all fiction, set in their own little worlds. Each to their own and that. Can't say I kow who this chap is, so Cullen wins by default :monster:

I'm Edward's biggest fan, fortunately. Edward gets my vote hands down. He's so sparkly!

I'm not fans of either of them. Like Bambi says, neither are actually 'real'

Also, sparkly vampires? wtf? XDDDD

Since when do vampires SPARKLE

So Alucard wins fer me... cos you know, he doesn't 'sparkle'

I have to go with Alucard on this one, since he sticks with what a vampire traditionally should be.

As for a vegan vampire, that's hardly new. Little vampire did the same thing, only uniqueness is sparklyness which isn't all that great tbqh. And is it me or does edward and co not have fangs... Just sharpened teeth? o_O

I'll say Alucard,he reminds me more of a vampire when I look at him while Edward reminds me of a handsome young human man.
Not really fan of any of them(I still haven't seen the anime or movie they are in)

Since when do vampires SPARKLE
Edward sparkles like diamonds in the movie and the books. It makes him look very attractive. It's a pretty good alternative to burning out in the sun. So that'd be another reason why - Edward doesn't scorch to death in the sun, he SPARKLES beautifully.

... But that's just freaking weird in my opinion. XD Sparkling vampires is just a little... out there. I have a great imagination and ability to grasp onto concepts, but Sparkling Vampires, is just going a little TOO far in my book.

Each to their own though. :)

I know what you mean, but at least it's actually something original in comparison to everything else that we've seen so far. Typically, it's the same story - vampire, possibly wanting to save humans, fangs, freaky eyes, good looks ...

You're right. It's original, but in my opinion, nothing all that spectacular. Also, Isn't Cullen remarkably good-looking? supposedly... He's too... ... Not my type. Too *sparkly* I guess XD

Vampires in the stereotypical form are far to overused... and it's hard to add something new to something that has such an extensive lore. Kudos to the writer for trying... I guess. >.>

You also need to add in the fact that Meyer never researched any kind of vampire mythology when she was writing the series. She didn't want to produce any stereotype vampire - and sparkly ones are the result. It's original, a clean break from the types we usually see and imagine of.

Thats what I seen that alot of people hate that she never researched any of it because all the past authors of vampire books did research and she didnt. I dont think its a big problem I think she just wanted to use her imagination and make a different type of vampire.

Edward vs Alukard

As far as `types` go Edward is the sole defining specimen of one while Alukard is a specific and extremely unique character. ie:
Edward is the default jock that every misunderstood miss wants to be with while Alukard is a menacing existence feared by vampire and man alike.

Edward is sparkling in the sun, and Alukard isn`t bothered by the sun he just hates it.

Edward is a handsome, dark and brooding horny teenager, and Alukard is a dignified, mad and adult dog who loves his master.

Edward`s 'life' was saved by an old vampire who thought him how to delude himself and try to be human. Alukard gave a girl a new life and thought her to accept she is no longer human and learn that she is superior.

Edward is a part of a fad, while Alukard is a part of a multimedia masterpiece.

So basically we can put it down to this:
-Stephenie Meyer(writer of 'Twilight' series) gives us a diet soda, and then serves us a soya steak on a nice plate with flowers, reminding us it`s nice to always be polite.
-Kouta Hirano(mangaka of 'Hellsing' series) first ask us do we like our wine sour or sweet and which lamb would we like for dinner, then serving it so you are afraid it`ll run away.

Those who understand the metaphor I like, those who don`t I won`t bother to explain.

Alucard.

I actually like the typical vampire. Tbh, I was furious (well, no, that's exxagerating) when I heard from my friend that vampires 'sparkle'. It's ridiculous! I've always loved that vampires are afraid to go out in the sun, but really. SPARKLES?!

May I remind people that this is discussion about Edward Cullen and Alucard, NOT any other vampires. Anyone who goes off topic or spams will have their posts deleted and infracted without warning.

Oops ^^ If I really have to choose between the two, I'll pick a real vampire; Alucard. Sparkling stalkers aren't really my thing ^_^

Alucard is the obvious winner. Alucard is simply better, a Vampire should not glisten in the sun. A vampire should burst into flame in the sunlight. A vampire should be a cold, heartless killer, not a pretty boy who falls in love with that which should be his prey. Lets see here.

This:

vs.

THIS:

okay that isn't fair. Its just sparkling... Here is an actual FIGHT scene

Obvious winner. Alucard.

Edward vs. Alucard? Well, Alucard for sure. I love the classical view of vampires anyway. I know Meyer didn't know much about vampires when she was doing Twilight, so she came up with her own original idea, which is actually a good thing. But, for me, the type of vampire Edward ended up becoming strayed a little to far away from what I expected. It bothered me how he seemed to fall in love so easily with a human, and the whole 'sparkly' thing was a bit weird, too. He was just the type of guy that fits the role of Prince Charming, not a vampire........not scary at all. Edward just wasn't really even a vampire.
Alucard, on the other hand, is like some sort of vampire masterpiece. He's the type of character you expect to show up in your nightmares and scare you to death (literally). He was just way too badass, which is awesome actually. You don't find characters that beautifully created (in a scary way) very much anymore. Alucard is definately a classic.

Wow, Im not sure. Im a fangirl of both. I love Alucard cause hes the badass vamp who'd kill you if told to. He can be a tool, but the dude will eat you up! Then again Edward is ... scrummy and yes sparkly. I cant chose as I said Im a fangirl of both.
