It’s been long expected, but today LucasArts has finally announced that gamers will get to use their Wii Remotes as Lightsabers.
The game in question is the Wii version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which was also announced today (previous versions of the game have been known about for some time, through official and unofficial channels). Krome Studios is handling the Wii, PS2, and PSP versions of the game while LucasArts is developing the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version internally. n-Space is also handling a Nintendo DS version of the game.
Correction: The original story said the "sword-swinging" segments were only available during a "duel mode," however this is incorrect, as lightsaber action will be playable throughout the game.
