Since theirs a Best FF game sticky, there might as well be a worst FF game sticky too ^_^ remember explain WHY you think the game you vote for is the worst one :)
 
No, I meant Dirge of Cerberus AKA the crappy spinoff game that Square to milk every last cent from the Final Fantasy 7 fans.
 
I voted for the first game. While historic and amazing for it's time, it was still pretty much on par with the rest of the games, whereas each game after it was leaps and bounds better than most games.
 
Heehee, sorry AG. I had to throw in the dreaded timewasting game that is Crystal Chronicles. Im sure most people on here know I loathe that game with a massive passion lol.

I felt nothing for the characters, OST was not as great as the others, repeated storyline and frustrating real time.
 
FFVII. Used to think CC, but I never completed it, so I don't know if it got better. X-2, I like. DoC, though tedious, I feel as if VII takes the crown. The characters suck, battle system, more lame then a lot of the other systems - I got more fun out of 5's system for crying out loud! Yes, it has a decent, good storyline, but that's it's only saving grace.

For now I would have to say vii. I did enjoy it, but of all the final fanasy games I have played this was the least fulfilling. I'd have to say i enjoyed the stories of X-2 and all the previous games a bit more, and I havn't ever played IX, CC, nor have I gone through XII. It's not like I didn't like VII it's just the others I thought were better.
 
WTF? Two people actually voted VII as worst? The game may not have a very good story or characters but it's fun...

And two more voted for XII? It's lame compared to the other FFs and fails at alot of things, but i still don't think it deserves worst FF...
 
FFVII is far from the worst.

I was going to vote for VII just to piss Mark off, but not voting for X-2 would be a crime.
 
I would have to say FFX-2 is only because it didn't meet my expectations following my favorite game of all-time: FFX.

When I heard that FFX was getting a sequel, I was beyond pumped up at the news. I was ready for an in-depth search and adventure trying to find where the true Tidus went, and how to get him back or to figure out why he would never come back. However, this was not too be. Instead, we went searching for Easter Eggs in the same places as before and fought enemies that looked like mini Monster Arena creations...everywhere.

FFX stole my heart; FFX-2 crushed it.

Pfft, half or more of the monsters in X-2 were the same as in X. That makes sense, since it's the same world...but i don't understand why they named everything differently and put monsters in areas they didn't belong. X-2 was what let me know that the Final Fantasy series was going to be raped by Enix.
 
FFVIII is the worst FF :monster:

I've never felt such detachment from the characters, and the battle system was the worst I've ever seen. All games have plot holes and melodrama, but VIII was the most melodramatic game I've ever played, and I don't care what people say about whichever game, VIII had one of the stupidest plot holes in the history of anything.
 
I'm going to pick off the list. Crystal Chronicles. No story. Repetative battles. Dull gameplay. Dull world. No characterisation. No story!!

Nice music.

I've never heard anything good about X-2 but since I've never played it I can't really vote for it. :P

VIII gets my vote. The game was incredibly boring and ridiculously easy. And the two lead characters irritated me to no end. Squall was a bitch and Rinoa was an annoying twit who spent half the game captured or incapacitated. If both of them had met a horrible demise at the end of the game I would have labeled VIII the best game ever. Triple Triad was its only saving grace.

Good, and don't ever touch it either, it's pure evil.

VIII may have shallow characters and may be easy, but i'm almost tempted to call XII the worst FF. I'll just give concise reasons why:

1. hardly any story, doesn't get interesting until the very end
2. non-existent character development
3. the gambit system glitches up
4. have to buy too many things (amour, weapons, magic, technicks, items)
5. things are too expensive, especially in the bazaar
6. takes way too long to lvl up (126 hours, highest lvl i had was 49)
7. the ending is a ripoff, nothing special happens, characters go their separate ways
 
FFX-2 just didn't cut it as a worth while FF series though it did serve as a good sequel

FFX-2 was not really a game I got into the battle system is the only thing that I liked the dresspheres were a bit boring. and only a choice of 3 characters that really was quite a let down
