Playstation Xenosaga made by square?

on the sub heading of this section it says "the xeno series". does that mean xenogears/xenosaga. i've played xenosaga 2 and it doesn't say square anywhere on the box

no, it means games like Xenogears, which were made by square. Xenosaga is made by Namco, though there are many similarities between Xenogears and Xenosaga.

While Xenogears and Xenosaga are related story-wise ( I can't remember which is the prequel and which is the sequel), Xenogears was made by Square, while Xenosaga was made by Namco.

I never heard of Xenogears. Heard 'Saga was good. Bet 'Gears is better.

Xenogears is the original game, the prequel and by far the better. If you haven't played it, you must , believe me it'll climb you top 5 list like that.

Xenogears is a PS1 one game. If you can find it I highly recommend it. It is a great game.

I won't bother reiterating what these good folk have said, but do try to find Xenogears at a local store or ebay. It should only cost around $30...so if you see it for more you're paying too much, just to warn ya.

Another similarity Xenogears and Xenosaga (only the first) share is that their OST's are both composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. And uh, quite frankly, they kick the shit out of anything Uematsu ever did (except the FF9 soundtrack).

i'm from the uk though, and xenogears never came out over here, i've heard all about it though.

also we only got xenosaga episode 2, not 1 or 3 for some wierd reason, anybody know why?

Xenosaga was made by some of the people who worked on Xenogears for Square, and it was originally designed to be a series of games that lead up to Xenogears (Xenogears being the fifth episode of the Xenosaga, a remake was even rumored to be the final installment)... but, for what ever reason (likely copyright issues between the different publishers), that plan was abandoned before they began working on Xenosaga Episode II, and thus it became a stand alone trilogy, that technically doesn't relate to the original Squaresoft game.

Kato's also working w/Square again (after becoming freelance)...maybe that had something to do w/it? Or, hell, maybe he just got bored of it...We haven't seen a new Chrono (similar teams...Kato & Mitsuda) in years either...V_V
