I find it impossible to hear what a lot of people are singing unless I am fully listening to a song. He is a bit softer than most though, I agree. If I really want to listen to an album I play it when I am on the bus or walking to university
I guess it has elements of that, but I read his stuff as more influenced by the idea that you can listen to alt without being part of some fringe subculture, that there's no difference between listening to alt or mainstream

I meant to say, I am not sure what to think of that Morrissey/Smiths song. The music was very funky and I really liked it, and the lyrics were nice too. I am not sure why, I just liked how they were written I suppose. Wasn't too impressed by the voice though
