This was a really stupid idea. There are 4 different chests you absolutely can't open if you want to get the spear. And they're completely random! Were it not for guides and maps, it would be almost completely impossible to get this spear, since the chests are all in fairly ordinary and visible...
He's neither a wimp, nor is he cool and mature, so that's not a very good poll...
Yeah, I kind of liked Vaan. He was a refreshing change from the moody, whiny cunts of some of the previous games (thinking of Squall and Tidus specifically). He was sort of the party's soul, which was nice. He was...
A VERY simplistic game, but I have fond memories of it 'cause it was my first RPG. Its one redeeming quality was its awesome music. I especially liked the Doom Castle theme, as well as the battle music vs. the Dark King.
For me, it's X, for the simple reason that it was so pathetically easy and linear that a six year old could beat it without much trouble. That and I hated Tidus. Whiners with daddy issues piss me off.
People hated it because it was so different from FFVII and FFVIII, and until IX came out, those were the only two anybody had played. Little did these newcomers to the series realize that IX is actually more like previous FF games than VII and VIII, not a radical departure.
I picked the typical party - Fighter, Black Belt, White Mage, Black Mage. Black Mage, as it turns out, is a useless class compared to the other ones, and White Mage is very limited in its usefulness.
The characters in FFVIII are all basically clones of each other battle-wise. The only difference is their limit breaks. And Selphie has the second-best one (after Squall's). Sometimes the best one if you can get "Rapture."
When I was about 8 years old I guess. Early 1994-ish. I didn't like it at first. XD I rented it along with "Lufia and the Fortress of Doom" (who remembers THAT one?) and was more entranced with the latter. But I gave "FFII" (as it was called) another shot, and I almost immediately asked for it...
Useless as he was, I always wish I had him with me during the Magnetic Cave. I mean, it's better than trying to beat that place with only four characters. >_<
Rosa's my girl in FFIV, she's so handy. Huge stores of MP and really strong healing spells, and she's not half bad at doing damage either. She's easily the most useful party member imo.
