Triple Triad would be the nearest thing to it, and it could be easily implemented in the current RPG Inferno. It wouldn't even need to be Final Fantasy monsters and characters - it could be FFF members an' shit (if someone could be arsed to create the cards in PS).

It's possible that the Doctor or River could actually escape through one of the cracks in time. Even so, it all revolves around Amy with her past and that. So I reckon one of the two travels back in time and changes her past or some shit.
I remember in the old RPG's there used to be a Mage Spell Trainer with high MAG DEF and low DEF. So you could cast as many spells as your MP would allow you. It also trained Arcane of course. But other than that, Halifax's method is the best way even though he's from AUS.

I take it the weapons won't have too high of a stat value though, otherwise the damage will be quite high with the limits higher.
