Doctor Who

If this whole thing
turned out to be a dream I would shove a stick up Moffat's ass. D; Also is the Dream Lord a Time Lord? The ending of Amy's Choice was very ambiguous in that he is a part of The Doctor in a way, his reflection and all that...
The Dream Lord is
a future incarnation of The Doctor (round about 15/16, I think. People have said that he's related or connected in some way to The Valeyard.

He's the incarnation between the 12th and 13th. Most Time Lords only have 13 reincarnations I believe. But yeah, he's basically The Doctor's evil side which is also The Valeyard who appears in the series 'Trial Of A Time Lord' which inclided the 6th or 7th Doctor I think. And at the end of the episode it shows that The Valeyard still lives and has not reappeared since then.

Wait, how can he be an incarnation between two incarnations? Granted I'm a Doctor Nwhoob, so I'm not as knowledgeable as the rest of you lot. :gasp:

The Dream Lord was the result of that weird pollen stuck in the TARDIS console. He himself was a dream.

And as for Time Lords having only 12/13 incarnations, that's been retconned so that Time Lords only die if they are killed before getting a chance to regenerate. It hasn't been explicitly stated thus far, that I know of, but every sign from the last few series points in that direction. Most particularly when The Doctor himself points this out (I believe to Wilf during the End of Time specials).

As far as I'm aware, a Time Lord can be killed regardless of how many regenerations he has left. If he is allowed to regenerate, then he gets 12. Twelve regens, 13 faces.

As for the finale, I have about 5 theories running through my head at the moment, and can't be assed typing them out at the mo, so I may come back to this.

So much for all the crazy speculative theories then. It was a pretty simple resolution to the end. :lew:
I wish it would have been explained how
River remembered The Doctor though.
The next series has been set up really well already too. And I'm glad Rory is staying on, at least for the time being.

I wanna know that as well, when she left the book, I was like, eh wot? The only conclusion I can come too, is like when Ami remembered them dudes in the angel episode even after they were erased from history - but in that respect, Ami should never have forgot him herself. Bah
I quite liked that episode, I spent a good half an hour bawling - for a change

Roll on Crimbo, glad Roys staying for the forseeable as well, I like him :mokken:

Also, Matt Smith was at glastonbury :8F:

I switched Glasto on just as he was starting. Raving to the Doctor Who theme will become big over the Summer, I think. :wacky:

There were a few other plot holes to it too. Like
if The Doctor had ended up never being in that universe after he went back through the crack, then that would mean he'd never have been around to save it the hundreds of times he's done it before. And also, plastic Rory should have melted when he saved the Pandorica from the fire.

Is Christmas when it starts again, or is it just going to be a special?

Christmas will just be a special, the new series will be spring 2011.

I enjoyed the last episode, and I like how some things are still unresolved heading into next year. Plus hooray for Rory staying on!

How did the villains form their alliance? How did they come to the conclusion The Doctor would end up destroying the universe? Why do all these robots and nestene people keep realising their 'humanity' and then suddenly end up not being robots/nestene people anymore? Rory can't heal any injuries or anything, are they trying to tell me that over the course of 2000 years of protecting the Pandorica, he didn't get injured a single time? Is Rorys penis classed as a penis or a dildo, due to its plasticness? Why did the TARDIS make it's noise at the end when Amy remembered the Doctor and the TARDIS, it wasn't flying, it was just being brought back into existence.
SO MANY QUESTIONS. But I don't care. The finale was awesome. Seen it three times so far and gonna watch it again today I reckon.
I cannot wait until the Christmas special. Although I'd rather see Space Florida and the automatic sand than an escaped Egyptian goddess on the Orient Express in space.

I really enjoyed the finale. Most of the episodes have been decent, but they were all worth the wait to watch this! Glad that Rory's staying, he's really grown on me now. The last twenty minutes were fantastic, roll on until Christmas.

Think of it as "wibbly wobbly, timey wimey."

With all the paradox shit in the episode, it'd be like, everything he ever did was done, but erased, but done again. xD

As for River, I'm leaning towards he travelling back and dropping the book off. All signs have pointed to her being from the future, so how she was alive walking around in 2010 raises questions. So I'm guessing it's another paradox, like the way Doc escaped the Pandorica.

Katherine Jenkins and Michael Gambon are set to star in this year's Christmas special of 'Doctor Who', reports The Guardian.

Whilst veteran actor Gambon has already appeared in numerous TV shows and films including the 'Harry Potter' franchise, the 'Doctor Who' role is Welsh singer Jenkins' first major acting part.

'Doctor Who' lead writer Steven Moffat told The Guardian: "Michael Gambon is as distinguished an actor as I can imagine and the fact that he was Dumbledore means that he is already known to millions of children."

Admitting that he didn't know that Katherine Jenkins had limited acting experience, he said that he found her "brilliant – she is a great singer and a great performer."

The upcoming 60-minute 'Doctor Who' Christmas special is set to be "the most Christmassy Christmas special" since the cult TV series returned to the screens back in 2005, according to Moffat.
:ohoho:

They're both lovely additions for the special. Michael Gambon's a pretty good actor, whilst I'm interested in seeing how Katherine Jenkins gets on. Nice to see they're opening new doors.

I don't give a shit if Katherine can act or not.

She is fucking gorgeous. Really, really, gorgeous. Lovely woman to.

She is NOT! She looks more like a mannequin and less like a human being with every passing year. But she was OK in the Christmas special, as much as I dislike her usually.

I quite enjoyed the episode, wasn't amazing and it didn't all make sense, but it moved along at a fair old clip, the Doctor had some good lines (not least his being rather dense about human relationships) and Michael Gambon was (as always) great. Plus the trailer for the next series looks fantastic, can't wait to see it. Though will be interesting to see how the new format (half the series in spring, then a cliffhanger before the second half in the autumn) pans out.

'Stetsons are cool' :)

i loved his "finally a lie too big" bit. matt smith has made a brilliant choice as the doctor, it's nice to see him making his own character of it.

the christmas episode was interesting, i liked that they moved away from the battling aliens to a more moralistic storyline and moffat stuck true to his form.

the new series looks to be another good one, and i was happy to see a lack of mighty morphing power daleks in the trailer.

I managed to finally catch the Christmas episode tonight and I have to say I was pretty pleased with it. It was even better than the Christmas special last year, but even David Tennant's exit wasn't the best it could've been.

I was actually genuinely surprised with Katherine Jenkins and I had suspicions her vocal chords would be used at one point. Michael Gambon was fantastic. Matt Smith was brilliant again. I loved the story and the fact that there was another different planet humans lived on besides Earth.

Looking forward to the new series. Maybe we'll finally get some answers about River Song and who the hell she really is. But I'm particularly curious about
the strange markings on Amy's face
and it's been bugging me for a while. But at least there's not too long to wait now.

I still cant warm to her. I dunno what it is, I just dont like her. Its like Martha all over again, summat just irritates me about her

Quite liked the Xmas special, knew there'd be warmed up vocal chords when I saw she was inj it, otherwise why bother? Cant wait til the new series, despite River tainting the first ep.

Also, to recap Smiths debut season. It was ace (y)
