Doctor Who

I reckon the Doctor's gonna hide the ring (didn't it show him, seeing it on the floor?) and it may go more into a plot bit of Amy finding it, thinking they're going somewhere and he's gonna try make her remember him.

Ooooooh, that's a possibility seeing as she threw herself at him not long back :hmmm:

Tis what I'm betting.

Also was anybody else surprised by her abrasiveness though? Even Rose wasn't that strong on him. :gasp:

She did just seem to randomly pounce on him xD

I thought it was abit too much like...O_O the fuck?! Especially as she hadn't been travelling with him long and was due to get married, it didnt even feel like any chemistry had had the time to build up, which, well, it hadnt....

Exactly! And in interviews and everything the two of them talked about Amy being there to challenge the Doctor, sort of how Donna had, initially there wasn't going to be chemistry.. and then BAM. It's like, dude... where did that come from?

Yeah, but Amy is a lot more impulsive than Rose, and she'd just had a near-death experience and was getting increasingly nervous about her marriage the next day. Plus her remark in the Daleks episode ('ever fancied someone you know you shouldn't') hinted at things too. Besides, it was hilarious to watch.

While all of these things are true :monster: It was still... odd... to say the least. I don't know, I just didn't expect that sort of thing in a Doctor Who eps.

I thought it was unexpected as well, but incredibly funny. :wacky:

Just watched the last episode and I'm absolutely astonished by what's happened. I really cried my eyes out when
Rory got erased from history!
On the other hand, I'm looking forward to next week's episode. It looks promising.

It was actually really good. Very well written.

Next week looks interesting, kind of annoyed that James Corden is in it though. Wish that guy would just fuck off now.

The stuff about Van Gogh's depression was rather well done I thought, but the ending ladled on the sentiment a bit too much (at the very least it didn't need that bloody song). Bill Nighy is always good value, shame he didn't get more screentime.

Next week's one doesn't look great, but the episodes before the final two-parter of the series are usually fairly filler-ish anyway (Utopia apart).

I thought this week's was probably the worst so far. I didn't think much of the writing or the directing. The only decent part about it were
the few little references to Rory.

I don't know Doc, it had great little DW moments, but the story seemed to be away from the usual DW pace, and it worked for me. More about the man than the monster. Suppose it was just nice to see a story that was a little more heart warming at the same time of being abit morbid.

Have been dissapointed by Moffat's overall work on the series though, don't there's been an episode of his since the Weeping Angels, though he's probably had input (the cracks and what-not)

I'm still interested to see where all this crack nonsense is going... They've touched up on it in a few episodes but since the first one there hasn't been anything huge leading it to anything. We're really left in the dark about this one. Hrmph. =/

I think they've probably showed us as much as they could of the crack without making every episode about it. It's (I'm guessing) going to be completely explained and resolved in the finale of this season, but they have been building it up for the entire season.

I wouldn't say that they haven't told us anything about it since the first episode though, as they have explained a few things, and left us with clues. Firstly we know that
if you are engulfed by it then you are forgotten
, and secondly when the Doctor
put his hand into the crack and picked up a part of debris from within it was discovered that the Tardis was either the cause of the explosion, was the explosion itself, or was at least caught up in it
.

Add this with River Song being set to reappear in the finale (I think) and that she stated that
she had killed "a very good man"
... So we are being led to believe that
the Tardis itself, and assumingly the Doctor within it, will be destroyed, perhaps at the fault of River Song
, and that this causes the crack in time. I doubt that all of that will happen, but from what I've gathered I'm guessing that it is leading that way. The Doctor would probably resolve the situation and stop it from happening though.

The finale has been set up fantastically well, I really can't wait. More of River Song to come, which is excellent.

I'm a bit mixed about this week's though. It was a really interesting story, if you took the love interest between Craig and Sophie out. That just made it too soppy and sentimental for me to properly enjoy it.

Well, as for last weeks episode it was good. The love story was a bit forced, but the Doctor trying to pass as an ordinary guy was just brilliant. The rent in the paper bag was just too great.

I'm not sure about the finale though. Story wise it looks to be awesome, but River Song will be in it, and I hate, hate, hate that woman. Even more than I hate Rose. Shes just one of the most annoying characters in that show.
Also Moffat said before the Series that no old Characters would return...then why the hell is River back?

Anyway, can't be helped, I'm excited anyway.
But i have to say, that after all the hate RTD got and the praise Moffat recieved, in the end he didn't change much or did it better than RTD, all in all alittle dissapointed with this series.

I quite liked the Van Gogh episode, it started off abit dull, and I wasn't really fondof the invisible monster lark, but I think it came together well at the end, and shock horror, I bawled my eyes out, just for a change like, I swear to shit, anything will set me off xD

I liked the references to Rory as well, about her sadness and wotnot, and she's like, what sadness. Looking forward to where they are gunna go with this. I'm sure it'll all come out in the finale, I cant WAIT for it. Must catch last weekends on Friday, as shock horror, I missed it again

River was a character conceived by Moffat in the fourth series, so he sort of has a right to re-use her.
