Doctor Who

Be careful with double posts, guys. :sad2: There are many cases of ninjaing, but editing your post with your response to the ninja post will keep the forum tidier.

I read that The Silence are set to return for the finale of the first part of this season. We're definitely not done with them yet. I really enjoyed them, and I can't wait to see more of them as they are another type of psychologically scary monster.

Great episodes, and some nice twists at the end. Quite a few things are left open for the rest of the season: Amy's
pregnancy as on-off, the identity of River (which we are told we will discover soon), the Time Lord girl, who shot the Doctor, and a question of the significance of the woman with the eyepatch
.

EDIT - I was wrong. The Silence are to return for the finale of the entire season, not the part-season. Still, at least they are returning...

MOD EDIT: Can you please put a little more effort into your post? This is a spam post in a post count section. Thank you.

When Amy was running around the Children's Home a strange lady with an eye-patch appeared out of a slot hole in the door. The woman says something weird like "No, I think she's just dreaming" and then closes the slot. When Amy goes closer to investigate it the slot in the door is gone, and it is just a door, and there is no woman with an eye-patch on the other side.

I've just spotted this short Tardis.wikia page on it.

seriously Argor he was asking a question...? have a bit of common sense, unless you'd rather it was a 2 lined post going round the houses just to get to 'who..?' if there's nothing more to add, there's nothing more to add, it really shouldnt matter just because its in a post count section - we're just having an on going discussion, iot cant all be 20 lines long

All I can think of with her is maybe the kid seeing as we've come to the conclusion is a time lord child or whatever had been seized by the government...or a loony bin and she was under observation. i get the feeling that as fleeting as that scene was it could carry some significant importance

That wasn't Argor, that was me. This isn't an MSN conversation, so posts have to have content. Yeah, I know it sounds ridiculous, but I'm just doing my job enforcing the rules. If you think the rules should be altered, then please take it to the admins.

i don't think the girl is actually going to be a proper time lord, i think they'll still go with him being the last of the time lords. although i would quite like it if she was a sort of "first of the time lords" or something, that sounds like a cool title but i don't think it would play out that well.

well i thought tonight's was probably one of the worst episodes i've ever seen. i wasn't expecting a lot after last week's teaser, but christ i was still quite disappointed.
there was barely any emotion, and the doctor's character just seemed totally off. and i'm pretty sure they cut an entire scene, unless i'm less attentive as i thought.

There's always about 1-2 forgettable episodes in every Who series since it was revived, this always looked a bit throwaway. Still, eye patch lady made another appearance. And only four episodes before the mid-season break!

ehh it was alright, they've gotta have a couple of sub par episodes, i think that one with the wasp and agatha christie is up there as my personal worst. though admitedly i did enjoy it a bit more the second time round

one thing i dont like though, is being made to watch doctor who confidential, i like to watch it and pretend that its real -__-

Very disappointing indeed. If it's going to be specials all over again a la Tennant, then there're going to be many disgruntled fans. Myself being one of them.

So, discussion of the last few episodes?

I somehow had my suspicions that
River was Amy and Rory's daughter. I'd seen theories spread across the internet for a while, but I figured it out from the moment that River spoke to Rory at the beginning of the last episode.
After a few episodes of things not making sense, I'm glad that things are picking up again.

And there's still the matter of
the Doctor's death from the first episode! Let's face it, we know it's River who killed him.

Yeah, the specials don't really do much for me. I mean, I guess they are kinda fun, but they are nothing compared to the actual episodes.

I wasn't all to shocked that
River Song was the daughter of Amy and Rory. I said to myself early on, that's a lot of water related last names goin' around. Something must be connected. At first I thought she was the mother of Amy, but then, the finale of season 5 happened...

Also, I had a thought that maybe the doctor who was killed in the first episode of series 6 was maybe a flesh clone? Or a copy of some sort.

All I know is that the next episode has the best title ever: Let's Kill Hitler!

I like how this series has been going so far, roll on September!

i guessed amy and rory were river's parents at the end of the second episode when river said something about "her old man", and the only two men in the room at the time were the doctor and rory. i also wasn't very shocked to find out river is a time lord.

also, i thought there was supposed to be a death at this midway cliffhanger?

aw what not another year of no Who ):

Also, one thing that has been bugging me since this revelation is why River didn't regenerate at the Library and ended up being put in that dream thingy majig, she'd already died and her echo or wh\tever was in her screw driver, so I dont get why she didnt regenerate?

she couldn't because her body was dead and it happened too fast for her to regenerate. like when the doctor got shot or when he drowned in turn left.

I wonder if there is anyway to save her though... I mean, it's kind of an interesting way to look at a story, we already know how she "dies", but how she gets there and who she is.

I guess they need to leave the doctors love interest position open for later seasons...

but that was while he was regenerating, she jsut didnt regenerate.

He was shot, instantly regenerated, then was shot mid regen. So why didnt she even regenerate?

the only explanation i can think of, is they didjnt think of this at the time and they will just decide that she personally decided not to regenerate or summat
