Doctor Who

You don't like River Song or Amy? Madness. I'm still grateful these days for every minute that Donna isn't around on screen.

Nooo I was on about just River, I love Amy, she's ace, Rivers whole attitude just irriates me

I know it's nothing to do with the new series, but ...

Elisabeth Sladen has passed away at the age of 63.

The actress is best known for portraying Sarah Jane Smith in Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures. The cause of death is not yet clear.

Doctor Who Magazine tweeted: "With great sadness, DWM must report the loss of our beloved Sarah Jane, actress Elisabeth Sladen. The best of best friends. Too, too sad."

Doctor Who writer Paul Cornell said: "Very sorry to hear about Elisabeth Sladen, a great actor, special to everyone of my generation and a whole new one."

More to follow.

This is really sad news, I just came across it in the breaking news part. Apparently, the cause of death is cancer. Such a shame, she was a really talented actress and was so full of energy. I was also looking forward to the new series of her show, but I suppose it will never happen now.

RIP. :sad3:

i just stumbled across this too ):

is that a relaible source?

BBC News have confirmed it as well. It's all over Facebook and Twitter as well.

Wow, the news has closed the site down. :gasp:

so. the new series is sounding pretty awesome. either amy, rory, river or the doctor will die half way through before a break in the summer before it returns later in the year. my money is on amy at the minute, but i wouldn't be surprised if it was river tbh.

there's also supposed to be something huuuuge in the first episode.

hasnt amy already done the dying thing though? with being shot by rory in the last one? Surely River cant die either? :hmmm:

Oh man, I cant fucking wait til saturday

all three of them have died though. i don't think it will be a big enough impact for rory to die again - he's not a major enough character. i really can't see moffat killing off the doctor, although i wouldn't put it past him.

Kill the doctor off dead for good and thats like omg the end no more doctor who!?

WELL AM NOT AVIN THAT PAL :rage:

Whoever 'dies' will probably come back anyway. Can't wait to see the first episode.

And sad news about Elisabeth Sladen.

has regeneration mid series not happened before though? :hmmm:

No mention of him leaving the show or anything? That'd be a fucking twist and a half if they kept that one quiet

i can't remember if they have, but at the start of the movie sylvester mccoy regenerated. and so far as i know, matt smith finished shooting the entire series.

So, the two parter. What did everyone think?

First episode was fantastic, had me asking lots of questions. The twist with
the Doctor dying in the first ten minutes
was quite unexpected. And that final shock that
Amy was pregnant!

Just finally got round to watching the conclusion to the story now. Didn't expect
the chases to be so fake
and the other twists. Now there's the whole
thing about the little girl at the end
and also
that question: is Amy really pregnant or not?

Above everything, I'm dying to know who River really is. I've seen so many theories, but I don't know if I can bring myself to take any of them seriously enough. xD

the time lord child :rage:

part of me keeps thinking a past version of river killed the doctor, as she said she was in prison for killing the most important man ever like....

i kinda guessed that the whole chase sequence at the start was a set up, especially as he was one of the dudes with an envelope at the start of the first episode, if the guy is killing his pals, the doctor wouldnt want him there like

one thing thats gunna irk me though, if he (the future version of himself) was eleven hundred and something, that means this incarnartion of the doctor is gunna live a very long time, so how the fuck will that work unless matt smith just decides to stay as the doctor til the series runs out of steam....?

i was a little disappointed with the second part of the opener. it was left on such an enormous cliffhanger, and the start of the second part felt like a massive kop-out. it was worth it for the end though. i'm really hoping that the mystery with the little girl is something more than the obvious speculation (i.e. amy is the mother of the girl/river is amy's mother).

an interesting theory i heard today about river is that
she kills rory. he's becoming a much more prominent character this season, and he's matured a lot. i think he's going to play a big part in it later on, and that he'll be the one to die at the mid-point.

theres also the amy is river as well, ive heard that too, people dont have come out with some shite

there are so many questions though :rage:

if the doctor really did die, and he obviously know its gunna happen, did he invite folk to try to prevent it or what?

Theres like, a 3 month break as well, its gunna be a fucking killer

me and tom already have our next doctor who date booked in for next sat :wacky:

i quite like that theory, but why would she say he was the most important man when asked why she was in prison last series....? Unless something about him makes him super important like the whole thing with donna in series 4....

yeah, he was trying to indirectly prevent his own death from happening after he found out it was going to happen. he can't just go back and do it himself because he can't cross his own timeline, so he uses amy, rory, river, canton and a past version of himself to try and stop it. i'm guessing they're still a long way off from that happening.

i'm also hoping the silence aren't done with yet. they're far too good of a villain to waste like that, especially after they were built up for an entire series.

yeah that's what i'm getting at. i'd really like it if it were him instead of the doctor, because i think that's just too obvious a choice for the man she killed.
