Of course; Mass Effect was one of my favorite games of all time (2, as well), but then I played the original Deus Ex, and my opinion of ME worsened severely (Going from "great" to "mediocre"). It's truly hilarious that a game that came out so long before Mass Effect was better than it in every...
I didn't see a general thread on this yet (And if there hasn't been one, then shame on you; shame on ALL of you), so, yeah.
This game is fantastic. While there are a few flaws here and there, the game is a worthy sequel to the original masterpiece, and it easily puts every other modern "RPG"...
The original cartoon was good, but putting nostalgia aside, it really doesn't hold up well today (And this seems to be the consensus among teh interwebz). The new series, on a purely critical level, is better in pretty much every way, from character development to writing to animation. Sure, it...
Because the other thread is more of a general cartoon discussion (Also, ThunderCats was an 80s cartoon lulz).
This show is actually pretty damn crazy awesome. The only flaw is that it doesn't have the awesome opening sequence of the original cartoon, but otherwise, it's highly...
It'll probably eventually come to the US; maybe as a special edition Wii U title.
This does seem awfully similar to what happened to Final Fantasy III.
If it's something that's not extremely noticeable, like bad breath or shit like that, then it's more polite to keep quiet.
If it's something ridiculous like a giant crap stain on the back of your pants, then the polite thing to do is tell them. Better to get embarrased earlier (In front of...
No, but you are alright with torture and you do give in to blind, stupid emotion, if you're one of the people I described.
So yeah, you're still an inhuman sadist. :)
Fair enough, but my point still stands. Why give in to blind, subhuman sadism, and instead be a better person, and forgive?
Society's standards of "justice" are screwed up. It's not about efficiency or repairing individuals; it's some intangible karma/eye for an eye-esque standard.
On a side note, it's really fucking sad that Hollywood--considering the magnitude of this case--will probably make a movie out of this mess, portraying Casey as a dastardly villain and the prosecution as heroic fighters for justice. It's sad how quick the American public is to stupidly simplify...
You're essentially saying "I believe she's guilty despite not being certain that she's guilty so she should be convicted."
Of course it's flawed. But today? We didn't see a flaw today.
There was REASONABLE DOUBT. If she was convicted for first degree murder, then yeah, there would be...
People often do stupid things when it comes to shit like this.
Maybe, perhaps, she didn't tell the truth because the American justice system is corrupt and ridden with prosecutorial misconduct, and that if she told the police, she would be put up as a murder suspect with a media circus...
On a side note, the "saving tax money" is never a worthy argument/incentive because it costs far more to hand out death penalties than it does to put someone away in prison. The trials and appeals and paperwork and whatnot isn't free; the only way in which the death penalty could save tax money...
I really hate the "there's no justice for the baby girl" argument.
It's as if "justice" has somehow been equated with "punishment" in that the only way for there to be this invisible "justice" for this dead girl is for someone to get executed/locked up for life, even if that person is...
Two things:
A). The death penalty is disgusting and should be done away with. An "eye for an eye" morality is stupid, barbaric idiocy that either assumes a person who murders is an evil demon incapable of redemption or that some abstract idea of "justice" must be served, no matter if it's...
Gender identity/role is mostly a social construct (And one that is outdated and no longer serves a practical purpose in this modern society). Yes, there are obvious natural physical differences between men and women, but aside from that, there aren't many notable differences between men and...
This show is the most entertaining thing on television.
The season finale (And especially the episode immediately before it) was amazing. I don't think I can hold out another year for more.
Looking very nice.
I am going to sink so many damn hours in to this game (As I did with Demon's Souls (Well over 100 hours), which I'm currently trying to obtain the remaining trophies in).
I like the giant bird things, in addition to how the overall aesthetics and gameplay are looking; I'm just not happy about having to wait 'til the end of this year for a game that was supposed to be released last year.
It is. Much of the gameplay and features are incredibly similar to Demon's Souls, and the developers have referred to it as a spiritual successor (As Demon's Souls was to the King's Field games).
They might as well call it Demon's Souls 2 (But they wouldn't be able to because of the IP rights...
