The next in S-E series of videos which demonstrate the various improvements and additions which have been made to FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 focuses on the game's environments. You'll be able to check out just how varied the different levels of the game are. From deep forests and sunny beaches to futuristic cities and even a colourful casino.

Not only are the environments more varied, but you'll no doubt notice they are full of multiple paths with hidden areas to explore and items to find. Head on over to IGN to see the video for yourself and keep checking back here on the Square Enix Blog for more videos in the coming weeks.

I have always said that Square can do aesthetics! This game and its world look stunning! The maps still look a little linear, but hopefully it won't feel like that in game; FFX had linear maps, after all.

Can't wait! :D

Yes but IN FFX we could come back to all cities with our airship!

Yes, but they have confirmed that FFXIII-2 allow locations to be revisited via the historia crux, in order to get hidden treasures or do sidequests. Or even replay the chapters one by one.

That actually looks really nice. Despite all the negativity towards the XIII series, I can't resist but look forward to an FF game simply because the visuals are just so great to look at, they're not worth missing. Hell, I might even like XIII-2 more than XIII. It's entirely possible. Who knows. FFXIII wasn't amazing, and if Square Enix pulls this game off right, it could be even better.

Anyone else getting Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles flashbacks with the moogle following the player around everywhere? I don't mind linear maps as long as the gameplay and story are good, it what kept me playing Final Fantasy X after all.

Oh I'll probably regret this but I'll be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt through a rental come February if I have the cash to burn. I'll probably be totally lost since I seldom played the first one before getting bored with it.

lol Dragon Age's graphics were horrendous but I loved the game so much like many many many many people.

Bottom line is Graphics dont mean shit. Its about the compelling story and awesome gameplay that can make or break a game.

I am not impressed with bullshit graphics.
