Final Fantasy X remake was a surprise when it was announced. Recently Square-Enix stated that not only Final Fantasy X will be remake in Sony platforms, Final Fantasy X-2 will be there too. Both games will come in one disc for PS3 and they will come in separate SKU’s for Vita.

One source told us that there was a surprise in the pricing information available for the PS3 version. It appears that both titles will feature additional content as DLC.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD retail disc – $39.99 (Already known because it is listed in Amazon lists)
Final Fantasy X International Additions – $4.99
Final Fantasy X-2 International Additions – $4.99
Final Fantasy X-2 Last Mission – $2.99*
*Requires the purchase of Final Fantasy X-2 International Additions

At this moment we don’t know if Vita version will feature the same DLC packages but it is very possible that it will have the same contents available at launch.

take it with a huge amount of salt, but well done square, if you do this, you have trolled the whole of the us

Oh jesus. I can't quite believe they would do this. I mean, roughly £20 (although it will probably be £30 over here) is cheap for some of the best RPGs out there imo, but to have to pay extra for the International content? Square really are going for the money-grabbing approach lately aren't they?

...I hope this is made up.

Really? >.> This is the route that they are going? I really hope not. Charging an extra $5 for the international edition for each game seems a little silly, but what's even worse is that they didn't just include the FFX-2's Last Mission with the international edition, considering it's a prerequisite.

Why don't they just come up with a deluxe package while they're at? Sell both X and X-2's international editions for a sales price of $7.99! ($2 discount, lol)

... I say all of this, but I probably would deal with it and pay up. :damon: We'll see if this is merely a rumor or not. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened though.

It would indeed be a shame if they did this! :/ Part of the reason people are excited about FFXHD is to do with the fact they will finally get to play the International Version! I am still not sure whether I will buy this or not... If I do, I doubt I'll download the additional content. I absolutely adore FFX, but the extra content is just not worth the extra cost. :/

Didn't we receive the International version in the UK? :hmmm:

yes we did, the only region that did not get FFX International was the US, we also never got FFX-2 international, that only been out in japan

*looks at thread title*

Huh, we're up to the sequel to FF20 already?

Square-Enix would be pioneers once again if this happens (which wouldn't surprise me). No one else with HD remasters as far as I know of have had the nerve to include paid DLC or any microtransitions in general. Gotta maximise those profit margins as much as possible, cos of how much money they're losing, amirite?

Still, I don't really care. I wasn't going to get this anyway.

I agree with you. I was going to buy FFX HD for the game and the extra content. This is kind of bs though. I thought SE said it comes with the games. Rumours will be rumours and I will not believe anything till I see true confirmation. For all you know this could just be a hoax.

I think all of Europe did. If they want people to pay money for the dlc well... I can bet you 100% I will not unless there is a point of interest to it. FF X-2's international content is kind of horrible anyway. Not a fan of dungeon scrollers.

This is bollocks, especially for those who had the international versions to begin with. Severely hope they do some package deals or, better yet, not its not true at all. Fuckers.

Lirael yes the Uk get the international version. I have the international version already, so if this is true I won't be getting the game at all. Having trophies and nice graphics is cool, as is being able to play it on my ps3. But paying that much extra for something I already have? No thanks.

I've never been particularly crazy about FFX-2, so the fact the international content will be DLC doesn't really bother me... However, I do hope this isn't the case.

DL content is becoming too common in the gaming industry. I can understand the ideals behind both getting the most from users and games, and the bugs that can't be worked out.. But companies shouldn't expect their customers to spend well past the teens for some extra content that could've been put on the disc(Or, in capcom's case, already on the disc, but unable to be accessed).

This is still a rumor. So ill rage when its confirmed true. If the additional content made it to the UK version, than why make it DLC? It doesnt make sense to me.

I'm assuming, as someone who'd receive the International Version anyway, I won't be expected to pay for the downloadable content? I noticed it's measured in $. I'll be damned if I have to pay MORE money just to STILL not beat the Dark Aeons.

It's not so much that they don't have the nerve as it is that it's difficult to program microtransactions into a game not designed for them. Since multiple versions of FFX already existed the difficulty may be less in this case, but I would still be surprised to see DLC for this reason alone. They've taken the minimalist approach to the changes thus far, an approach which would have to be significantly interrupted for the rumors to prove true.
