Was this song about Tidus? I've always thought it was, but I just sort of assumed. I've never actually seen someone say it was about Tidus or anyone or anything. I searched this bitch up on the FF Wikia, but it gives me no useful information whatsoever other than lyrics.
 
I'd always assumed it was about Shuyin.

I don't think it was written with either character in mind, really, but it does suit the ShuyinxLenne story well. Shuyin leaves Lenne to fight his battles alone... I am guessing that he promised to return, but she didn't believe him, so followed him to
die with him
.

Having said that, 1000 words has always reminded me of the 1000 year gap between Tidus' age and Yuna's age
(even though Tidus' Zanarkand is a dream)
. The words '1000 words call out through the ages' certainly suit this idea...

One could argue that it's about both. It's about the feeling of love
and loss
that both Yuna and Lenne feel, and about the tragedies that connect all four characters together; Lenne and Shuyin, Yuna and Tidus.
 
It seriously sounds like a song written for someone who died a painful death.

But I guess maybe it is about both. Yuna "felt" the stupid song, which was Lenne, I guess, but she was also conscious about it, so there's her feelings for Tidus mixed in there too.

Those are a set of interesting RE lyrics. Is it about Yuna or what
 
Haha, I've always found that song lacking in meaning!

Oh! Remember: Real Emotion is sung by...the funny pink lady whose name I can't remember... L... (it's on the tip of my tongue) *googles* LEBLANC! She uses a sphere to disguise herself as Yuna, remember? :)
 
1000 words Leanne wrote the song for Shuyhin Yuna says so a couple times.

So in game, it was writting by Lynn for Shuyin, outside the game, I guess you can argue it all you want.

Real Emotions in game, Take it how you want.. I think it was just the starting song to get things rolling, and to show you what kinda game it was going be...
 
Yeah, of course I remember, every part of that game (and X) is burned in my memories forever. But I guess I never really thought about it. I assumed she found one of Yuna's songs or whatever and just sang them, but now I realize that the dressphere could have just brought all of that out of her... but at the same time, it was still Yuna's dressphere, so it would be singing something coming from Yuna, wouldn't it?

Fuck, this game. X-2 is dumb, they probably don't even have answers for these questions
 
Well...no, because the sphere that they used to make the dressphere was a sphere of Lenne, which Shinra explains after 1000 words. He says that some of Lenne's, I dunno, personality perhaps? transfers onto the user of the dressphere
