12 Extremely Disappointing Facts About Popular Music

I remember this and omg...it hurts. I saw it one single time and there is no way I can go through it a second time. I guess people don't care much for meaningful lyrics anymore, they just want something happy to dance to. Which isn't a totally terrible thing but it just makes people seem like brainless morons from time to time.
Ah well, it happens. :3

Number 12  I don't care much at all for what is considered "popular" these days :hmmm: I'd listen to the Beatles over anything on the radio these days (and I do). Though, the reason most of these are the way they are, is because they're comparing to bands from back when music wasn't as popular (minus the second one), which would make up for the lack of numbers. "It's the devil's music :raye:" etc.

a lot of those are a massive surprise too. especially that r.e.m never had any number 1 singles. if you'd asked me, i would have said that they had at least half a dozen.

very disappointing indeed

who cares really

If your upset your favourites band / artist isnt popular then soemthings wrong with you.

All the hit singles in the world doesnt make seomthing good. Just rich.

i dont think this really says anything, its just sales. there are more people in the world now than there have ever been, music is far more accessible and people have more money now (not necessarily their own).

in another 40 years time i doubt anyone will say "who are the beatles?", but we'll be wondering who this latisha in the papers is. oh it's the grandaughter of kesha. who was kesha again?

That's why people invented underground/indie scene. With that, we enjoy GOOD music. :griin:

obviously quite a lot of people consider kesha et al good enough to buy.

I lol'd irl

but "quality over quantity" is what I'd say.

obviously quite a lot of people consider kesha et al good enough to buy.

I'm guessing that's synonymous with people not having good taste in music these days.

Honestly, there really is a lot of shit out there. And when I say shit, I mean it in the comparative sense. At best most music today is mediocre; there are some gems but most of the time you have to look for them. Or have a friend reference them to you. Thank you Sultan for Indica.
