Square Enix opened a full official site today for Piano Opera Final Fantasy IV,V,VI, the latest piano compilation CD for the Final Fantasy series.

Visit the site for sound samples and an adorable pic of Nobuo Uematsu and some kids watching as pianist Hiroyuki Nakayama plays the piano.

I'm excited for this album. I'm gonna buy the sheet music book, just like I did with piano opera FFI/II/III. I got the FFI/II/III sheet music book just yesterday. Was very excited lol. Currently learning Boundless Ocean from FFIII.



It's arranged beautifully in this one. But most of the other songs are of advanced level...
 
No posts? Odd. I can't wait for this! I love the music for those FF titles so much. I have all the soundtracks for FFVI and a lot of music for FFIII, too. I am glad it is not that far off for a release date; will definitely be deserving of a purchase. :33

Continuing the Piano Opera series for the 25th Anniversary of the Final Fantasy series, Square Enix presents the newest iteration which revolves for the Super Nintendo era of Final Fantasy games. Piano Collections: Final Fantasy IV/V/VI will be available May 16th in Japan, featuring the compositions of Nobuo Uematsu arranged and performed by Hiroyuki Nakayama. It's from the previous piano collections album from the past. I wonder why are they making a second edition piano collections but compiled with other titles, in the form of piano opera. If they are going to continue this for the other FFs, then that would be great! I would love to see additional arrangements from FFVII-X aside from their own piano collections.
 
Ah, yes, I have seen that one. It is my absolute favorite piece. :x3: Maybe its because I'm biased. :olivia:

I, too, hope they continue with later titles. I want to hear "Jenova" from Final Fantasy VII (actually, there are a lot more, like "Aeris's Theme and Fight On!" but...) and "Besaid Island" from Final Fantasy X, in piano. I particularly loved Besaid Island's theme, it was beautiful. As well as "The Cerobi Steppe" (others, but that is the one that leaves the biggest impression on me) from Final Fantasy XII, but that seems really unlikely.

Which did you have in mind should this continue? :hmm:
 
FFX piano collections' take on Besaid Island was unique, in a good way. It literally pulls out an entire new but beautiful from the piece lol. So if they are going to expand these piano collections, I would love to see another arrangement for besaid island, a more faithful one.

FFXII needs a proper piano collections/opera treatment >.<. It's the only main title without such, aside from XIII-2 and XIV. But the thing is, many songs in the game are orchestra pieces. Well they do have a piano album for FFXII, but if I remember correctly, they are simple arrangements, and there are too many songs in it.
 
Oh? I did not know any of those songs were picked before or had other arrangements. This is news to me, so thank you. I'll go check them out right now. :) *I will rep again when I have spread. :)*

Perhaps, then, FFX's "Decisive Battle/Battle against Yu Yevon" would be a better choice, unless that too, was already arranged, and any non-orchestrated songs in FFXII?
 
One for Kingdom Heats and X-2 as well? I need them NOW! I don't know how I didn't know of this, but I didn't. At least I had FFVI and FFV to hold me over in the meantime. lol
