Final Fantasy Versus XIII’s Noctis perfume pictured

Because we have no other news about the game.

May 20, 2013 / 12:36 AM EDT / Sal Romano (@salromano)

Square Enix has released first full images of its previously teased Noctis perfume, based on the protagonist of upcoming action RPG Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

We post these images because relevant news about the game is non-existent.

Perhaps E3 will prove otherwise?
Thanks, FF Reunion.

"Please wait for E3.
Here is some perfume while you wait for E3.
Now buy this Perfume."
-Square-

"I will not buy this Perfume
I will not buy it Square you aren't
I will not buy it for my face
I will not buy it in any place
Square why do you troll
I just want you to leave me Alone"

"Now please make the game
and stop trolling or else I will do more Dr. Seuss lines"

@Ohri-Jin - I have promoted this thread to the opening page for the funsies. Of course, I had to rewrite it, and I think it's definitely an improvement over Sal Romano's piece.

It looks piss yellow. Ahahahahaha.

If only it can be colourless, then I can really let rip the usual jokes:

> scent of vapourware
> no substance to it
> the smell of disappointment
> you paid Square-Enix good money for virtually nothing
> "eau du toilette"

Kagari on NeoGAF pointed out that previous Cloud and Lightning perfumes have had the name of their games as part of the product labelling. So, "Final Fantasy VII" and "Final Fantasy XIII" respectively. This one doesn't have the "Versus XIII" label, just "FINAL FANTASY eau du toilette Noctis".

Is this a sign?

@Mitsuki @Nigel St. Nigel

Promoting thread OPs to front page articles sort of renames the thread. The date tag is gone and "article" appears as a title prefix instead. It's going to make the news section look even messier. Is there a way to fix this, or will renaming the thread title simply rename the article title as well?

Well, this certainly seems like the news Square Enix would give us about a game that does not even exist. Noctis's perfume as news? Are you kidding me? I swear if at E3 they give us this kind of information... :lew:

This just looks like a sign of Square Enix trying to troll the fans or some shite like that. The rumour that Noctis is a woman has already been debunked anyway.

So when can we expect actual news of Versus, and not products that are related to it? :hmmm:

Please be excited for E3 etc etc.

Wonderful article miss. Fleur haha. You have done Sal Romano proud by quoting him.
It is hilarious. We knew Knoctis would get his own perfume, but come on SE promoting this Perfume while nothing else about the game has been revealed yet is hilarious.

Before this, there’s also been Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, and Lightning perfumes.

well...i wonder why no one posts about the world ends with you live remix social game by gree....still i think noctic is hot, so ill buy but AFTER it releases

This is a perfect example as to why Square-Enix are grimacing at consistent financial loss, and it comes down to one simple, and logical marketing strategy. Why would one produce merchandise for anything consumers know little about? It is wholly illogical. You would only produce merchandise if it is guaranteed to sell at a profit, and it is severely unlikely this 'perfume' is likely to do so. The hype from the initial promulgation has ceased and it is for this reason the perfume will only sell at a loss, there is no expectation any longer to drive consumers to buy the perfume, and the perfume alone will not encourage and raise the initial hype; the game has been driven to live burial.

Furthermore, any plans to release the perfume in the Western market is suicidal. A franchise, and company that is no longer selling well in a gaming market, a market to which they specialise will not compete against established perfume brands such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Yves Saint Laurent, Thierry Mugler et al.
