Siliconera broke the news that Square Enix and Electronic Arts were working together on Mass Effect outfits for Final Fantasy XIII-2 Now we have a release date for the bonus costumes – March 27, reports Famitsu. We can tell you that these will be Commander Shepard’s costume for Serah and Noel.

Fans of Final Fantasy VI will be able to add Ultros and Typhon to the game too through a colosseum battle on March 27. (Remember when we told you guys about this too?
) Win and the cheeky Octopus plus his guardian can join your party if you’re lucky enough to win a crystal.

I like the idea of more costume DLCs for FFXIII-2 (considering I haven't beat it yet && I'm still playing it), but the Mass Effect costumes seem a bit random to me... >_>; Even if I were a hardcore Mass Effect fan, I would find this DLC update as a crappy excuse to gain profit. *sigh*

Why not add some familiar costumes from previous FF games? I think fans would get a kick out of that! Like a Zack/Cloud costume for Noel or a Vanille costume for Serah? I don't know... Just a few examples. xD;

I like that they officially released that it will be Ultros as the other FF monster... I wonder if this means other FF games will get their shine also? :hmmm:

But again... Monsters kinda cool, Mass Effect 3 costume... not sure whats worse...the assassins creed costume or this costume :ffs:

It's actually Orthros. So.

And at that, it was originally Ultros in FF6, which is the character's first appearance in the series. It only got changed to Orthros in remakes and FF12.

So now ES resort to other franchises to sell FFXIII-2?

good to know that they acknowledge how shitty FFXIII and XIII-2 are, hopefully they wont do another FFXIII related game (ie a Vita port).

These look quite amazing! :) The costume suits Serah more than Noel. Good publicity for Mass Effect, no? :P

I'm still waiting for lengthy story DLC. -_- I feel the costumes ARE only there to make more money. I do miss the old days, in which one could unlock a series of costumes/characters by passing certain challenges in the game itself.
 
Even though it's epic that SE has remembered that they have actually made games before FF VII, I don't think it's worth getting .-__-
Plus his new design looks odd. Judging by Dissidia I bet his personality is going to be ruined as well, just like poor Terra's. :sad3:

He doesnt really have a new design, he just has a more realistic look. Which is understandable

He came into the 3rd dimension. Obviously when you take a sprite and turn it into something like that (and it's in FFXIII) it'll have some cosmetic differences. No need to complain about it :hmmm:

You can still transition something from 2D to 3D and have it remotely look as adorable as ever.

(Tonberries,Cactuars) They could've made ultros at least look sassy.

They better give him a damn good voice.

Why would they make Ultros look cute? He wasnt supposed to be cute in the game. He was made more to be a creep/creepy

Actually I think he was more of a joking boss in the FFVI game, think about it... all the times you fight him, he says "funny things" then there was the time you fight him with Relm and he lets Relm paint him... at least thats the way I took it, the "joking boss"
