And the beat goes on...straight out of Japan! Square Enix has just confirmed that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy will make its way to the NA and EU regions. This 3DS title, released in Japan in February, draws on over 70 musical scores from Final Fantasy*to create a series of quirky rhythm based mini-games. It's alsothe first title to feature the new Nintendo Network

although it's as yet unknown if the DLC will be exported as well.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy debuts in North America and Europe on 3DS sometime this summer.

This is great news for me. I don't think it'll sell too well at full price, but once it's reduced it'll sell loads. It's probably got a big market: it appeals to young gamers with the chibi, colourful look, but it also appeals to the older gamers, who can actually remember these soundtracks and want some nostalgia.

I'm pretty sure it'll be an early purchase on my part :)

There aren't enough words in my dictionary to express how happy this news made me. I had a little mini spasm inside when I read it earlier. With the DLC, I won't be surprised if we get the chance, too. Guessing they'll be on the Nintendo e-shop, or a link provided through the game itself. Hopefully it won't be too long until we get it, a demo on the e-shop soon would be awesome.

Yes ! This is extremely excellent good news !

I played it recently the demo version on livejournal and it's really fun. Though it was hard to control, because I didn't know any Japanese. And I didn't want to play as Light Warrior either. :jtc:

Though the bad news is guess have to spend a odd $200 on a 3DS now. Poor wallet, going to be emptied and everything. :ness:

The game itself looks extremely fun and I've sort of been hoping for something like this for ages. Sadly, I really don't want a 3DS. The technology is unimpressive and a little disorientating. Furthermore, I don't use handhelds much at all, though at some point in the future I MAY buy a Vita. Final Fantasy X HD on a handheld sounds so attractive! :gasp:

I wonder whether it could be adapted for PSVita... They have touchscreens, so one would hope it's possible. :hmmm: It's unlikely, but I can always dream.

I suppose this type of game is a little more casual so they may have hoped the game would attract more gamers to the series itself. The music is certainly a strong point! and I imagine fans of this gaming genre will be attracted almost as much as FF fans.

It reminds me a little of Donkey Konga. :lew: That game caused me to search for a few tracks (like You Can't Hurry Love) and certainly made me curious about the series Donkey Kong, though my feelings were more affected by a bad experience with the N64 DK game.

How can I even be comparing FF to DK? :srsly::omg:

:O I had no idea there was actually a demo out there for this! I actually googled for an online demo and found nothing. I can't seem to get past stage 6, which is Ultros.

Id probably give this a whirl, if it didnt mean having to fork out on a nintendo 3DS... :hmph:

Nooooooooo~ I don't want to be one of those people who forks over money for a 3DS. >_< I was looking forward to this for a while... ugh.. :okay:

I have to get a 3DS eventually for Kingdom Hearts so Ill be getting this as well. And a Vita. If I get a job anyway =P

Yeah there was one going on at Livejournal. If you head on to the main Theater rhythm site there was like a small demo you could play via the site and LJ. It's hard to understand though and to get into though unless your fluent in Japanese. I got there with a help of a friend who learnt Japanese. >_<

It's not a bad demo. However, the trainer battles are slightly faster than those of the Monster battles. I don't understand Japanese just yet, but trying to learn!

sweet fa..... this is sooo cool, i'm on stage 7 of the monsters atm but why does nobody know about it :ohoho:

a tip for people..... use training mode to level up, it will help you with the monster fights :yay:

Too bad its for 3DS, otherwise I would get it. Looks pretty fun...I am sad and disappointed now.

I really don't want a 3DS until more games come out for it. Stupid SE, couldn't you make it for DS too? :(

Only thing Im worried about is the highly overpriced DLC for the stages. I think there is more money involved in buying the DLC than the actual game

I'm actually quite shocked that it isn't more well known, either. I follow a few FF / SE Twitters and stuff and not once have I seen them mention this anywhere. I didn't know about training to level up until I worked on it :) I think I'm like level 21 or 22 atm
