well it time people, here the first trailer for Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster, in sexy 1080P and in german

sadly it seems like that their using the Vita version for the footage, asd the graphics look more to the standard we saw at vita heaven than the screens we saw the other day

Well, I'm not particularly wow'd by the graphics here. >D; Maybe you're right and they're using the Vita version for this trailer. One would hope that is the case... lol. I notice subtle differences in quality at certain scenes, but I'd imagine that it's not as drastic as some fans would appreciate.

I'm looking forward to seeing more trailers/footage to compare the difference between the Vita and PS3 versions.

Well, that certainly is a difference! o_o I sorta preferred Tidus' old choppy hair cut and high arching eyebrows though. They toned it down a lot it seems. ^^; But the remastering really looks good. :3

The only real reason i am getting this is cause of the fact that it will be the "international version" Really even side by side I see so little difference in graphics, that even the ps2 graphics didn't bother me at all.

Why I don't get most HD remakes unless I never owned the games before, I can make do with a PS2 version over some HD remake.

I preferred Tidus' original hair and face. :/ And Yuna's. :lew: both characters just look very different, and it looks to me as though they have used the Dissidia renders. :hmmm:

I will wait to see a little more of this before I make a judgment, but currently, I feel quite happy with the original version! It holds a special place in my heart. =)

isnt it always the case for long term fans? it looks good. i personally see subtle differences of the cgi and it looks like the hair is more animexish. similar to how ocarina on three ds refined the polygon but made it look less realistic than the original. still i am excited for this.

I think part of the problem is that, for some reason, we never remember old games in all their blocky, low-res glory. Our memories of the games are significantly cleaned up from what we actually saw. I guess it's the same sort of effect as imagining appearances while reading a book: our brains get a little bit of stimulation and then fill in the blanks for themselves. Plus there's the fact that when FFX released the graphics were really uncomparably beautiful--that might influence our perception of things.

That being said, I think that after taking some time to get used to the updates I like them much better!

I did prefer Tidus' hair before, and his eyebrows. Why they felt the need to change that is beyond me. They kept Yuna the same. It's one thing to put more detail in, and quite another to changes the way they look, however small those changes may seem. So I'm kind of disappointed. Maybe disappointed enough not to get the game. It's a shame because before those comparisons I was really quite excited. I'll wait and see what else we see in other (hopefully longer) trailers.

Of course, I can see the difference in the graphics(That HD sunset on Stevie's link is particularly pretty) , but they certainly won't be the deciding factor on when and if I get this remaster. I want to get it because X is probably my favourite game in the series(It was my first, so it does get a little headstart) and I enjoyed most aspects of it.

I want to play it and actually beat the Dark Aeons...But that all depends on what funds are available.

As a remaster and re-release, X was never going to a day-one buy for me... But I never buy games day one anyway. :monster:

peoplle arebeing nitpicky

No kidding. The difference will probably not even register with people while they're actually playing the game. In still shots the changes are subtle, so in motion they will be downright unnoticeable.

Well, the graphic quality of the game isn't going to really deter me from buying the game. Even if there was no apparent graphic improvement, I would still buy the game because of the extra content and to enjoy the gameplay as I once did before. I don't think it's wrong for someone to be a bit critical of the graphic quality of a remastered game. It's to be expected, if anything. ^^;

My initial instinct upon hearing that a game is being remastered is that there will be some sort of major improvement on the graphics, similar to RE1's transition from the PS One to the GameCube. Honestly, I was skeptical about a remastered FFX (and now FFX-2) because those are fairly recent and I never found myself complaining about the graphics while I played either them (even during my most recent playthrough last year, after being exposed to "high quality" PS3 games, lol). While I don't think updated graphics are necessary for FFX or FFX-2, I kinda did expect a little more from the Vita and PS3 version... xD; But there will be more trailers and previews, right? So we'll see.

Honestly, I think fans would appreciate a remastered VIII over this, considered those Silent Hill-ish character models scared me a bit. >.> But I can appreciate the subtle differences, because as LukeLC mentioned, I also think the differences won't be very noticeable after getting wrapped into the storyline again, lol.

I think it's going to take a bit of getting used to as they've changed the characters faces quite a bit, but I'm looking forward to playing with the new graphics and actually finishing FFX-2.

"Remaster" implies refining whats already there. So you cant expect so much high res than what you're seeing. Remastering isnt about how much they push it on the current gen console. You have to also look at other "remasters" from previous games nd you see barely anything at most without actually being a full remake. That said expect a "remaster".

Also ff8 (and this also includes 7 and 9) wont be enough to "remaster" as it also has 2D backgrounds. Its basically pointless to want a remaster over a remake.

Ohh, I guess I confused the term "remaster" with "remake" a bit. So remastering only improves upon the original source, not necessarily creating a new source from scratch? If that is the case, then I suppose we can't really expect too much from any remastered title. :hmmm: It's kinda like those remastered Disney movies. I don't see much of a difference with those either, honestly. It all looks the same to me. >.>; I've never had the keenest eye for graphic detail though.

Oh yeah, and did anyone else notice the light blooming in the trailer? It wasn't used everywhere, at least not in the footage we got, but still it makes me happy. I love light blooming for some reason :awesome: Hopefully they'll improve it a little by release time, though.

I'm really looking forward to finally getting to play X :ohoho: X-2 I'm not nuts about, but I'll give it a shot too since it's included. I think the graphics look pretty decent but at least we all know that for once it isn't just going to be a "pretty" game, it'll be a game with decent characters and a non mind-numbing plot.

The only thing that concerns me a bit is what they plan on charging for them. I'd like an actual disk copy of the game and I don't plan on paying more than $25 for both of them.

$25 for both? Are you mad? They're not (that) generous! :gasp:

Amazon has the tentative price of $40 for the remastered duo on PS3. That's pretty much all there is to go on.

It's ridonkulous paying almost a new game price for something that has been out for years and years that they've just decided to remaster :lew: I'll just wait then, like I have been for most games and get it when it goes down to a price I'll be willing to pay for it. I'm sure I'll have many other non-SE titles to keep me preoccupied.

I am happy to see the improvement in the HD version of FFX. While I already finished X-2 like two summers ago I will probably play the hd port also. My interest is in FFX though and since the bundle is coming with the international versions it makes it all the better. There will probably be a trophy to beat Penance and the dark aeons so I guess I will aim that high. I will most likely get it but not right away on launch day. At least this is coming and not just LR though. I was never a completionist with FFX but I will probably try and change that. So many games though! My attention will be nabbed by something else.
