Really? We have no thread for this?

I went to see it yesterday, and OMG :O It's one hell of a film. The action was perfect in it, it was gory and even funny at times. However, I thought that some of the acting early on was rather poor. The action totally makes up for it though :) I didn't like some of the monsters that were unleashed on the Spartans either, but again, the action made up for it. I could go on all day about bits that I loved in it, but that'd be boring. So what was everyone else's thoughts about it?

I could have sworn there was, I remember posting about it ...

Anyway, seen this film last Saturday. Love it, next to Hot Fuzz its one of my fav films so far this year. I ran into the cinema shouting "THIS IS SPARTA!" so I got a few looks, but hey show my support!

I was hooked for the entire film, I found none of it to be boring and I was moved to tears in the end. King Leonardis was played very well by Gerard Butler, amazing actor. The OST was astounding also and I shall be getting it once I get paid.

I will buy it on its release defo and IMO it was portrayed better then Sin City was. It was alot better.

I didn't like the end.
It made a difference from most films like that, where they always win, but I wanted them to win this time. I think they deserved it. I was totally gutted that King Leonidus died too
I thought at times it felt like Star Wars mixed with LotR though. Especially with The Immortals. They sounded just like Darth Vader. And you have no idea how hard I laughed when
the villagers were all stuck up on that tree  (Yes, I'm that sick)
I laughed for most of the film come to think of it...

Oh you didnt laugh?! Oh you evil thing you rofl! Yeah I thought that about the Immortals, they so sounded like Darth Vader. The music was so rocky, it was brillaint, but I did feel like I was watching Gladiator again with the music at the end.

And Leonardis had a nice backside! I was grinning from ear to ear when he was stood in by his balcony! My boyfriend couldnt help but laugh at me. My jaw was open lol!

I laughed hard :) I laughed at a lot of the deaths. Like when the guy on a horse gets a spear thrown at him, and he went flying off it. It was like The Matrix xD
My mate was almost crying laughing at that scene after, where he's with the Queen. It was pretty funny...

I nearly smacked my boyfriend because
during the sex scene, he shouted very loudly "That looks familar!"
I could have died! But when Queen Gordo, queer name, killed Theron, we were all like yay finally!

Dilios (David Weham) had a cracking line too about his eye. Dont really remember it well, "Its okay my King. God seen fit to give me a spare!"
Leonidas had a great one to about kneeling, "I'd kneel before you, but slaying your men has given me cramp!" Cheeky funny guy ^^

Usually they'd get some sort of cheesy line at those bits, which is another thing that makes this film superior to all but Casino Royale :)
"It's only an eye, God saw fit to bless me with a spare" Classic :)
I'd like to see a little mini-film made about the battle at the end though. I want to know how that turned out
I thought the narrative was a good idea too. They pulled that off well

Ah, thats the line yeah. Im pretty sure they kicked arse. There was an 1960s film on after the opening night called the 300 Sparta, so Im guessing Frank Miller based his comics on that or the actual Sparta history. The narration was done very well, it was boring or waffling on, it fitted the film well.

OK sorry to tone down all the hype, but in my honest opinion it was a good film, but not a great film. The thing that really attracted me was the colouring of the screenplay. I loved the hold bronze coloured sky, and also the blue scene with the oracle. Music was great in the film too. Acting was good, except in accents. Lena Headley's (Queen Gordo) accent was very English, and Gerard Butler sometimes went into Scottish.

I didn't think that much of the whole story. Everything went a bit too fast for my liking, though I suppose they had to fit everything into 2 hours. I did really love the film, but when I think about it more carefully I don't think it was great. The only standout thing for me was the visuals. Still I'd give it a 8/10.

I saw this like, last week, and in my opinion, it is my most favorite movie of all time. Advent Children suddenly turnded into, air after I saw this. I loved the battle scenes, the music was very dramatic and I liked it a lot. I loved the part where whats her face totaly
pwned that guy
Overal it was a fantastic movie.

One of my favorite movies, definitely! I finally saw it today, and I must say that I'm blown away by their strategic battle, especially the first battle. The acting was well done and the ending was really sad, although I expected the ending to turn out that way.

Erm, although there was one scene towards the beginning that was highly unnecessary. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. =/ And even that whole Oracle scene...o.o

Best movie I've seen in a long time. The best aspect I thought of it was the gore. It wasn't over the top like Sin City. I mean, the blood was there and it did it's job. It pore out of every orrifice like in Sin City.

I actually kinda love the whole gore part. Sure, it made me turn my head away from time to time, and I'd make this "ugh" sound every now and then, but I like the whole gore part.

Heh, in one of the many battles, my friend Britt whispered, "He's my favorite one!" She was talking about the son. I agreed and said, "Oh I know, he's freakin' good." And then 5 seconds later,
we see the horse coming up behind him and...well, you know what happened! She was like, "Oh no, he's gonna die." I didn't say anything and kept watching, hoping someone might be able to save him. Anyone! After the whole thing, we were both sad.

HAHAHA! Yea, Busta was telling me that one of the girls he works with was extremely sad when he bit the dust. Apparently she almost cried when the elephants died. lol I find that hilarious. lol

It was funny hearing people cringe when someone got an especially nasty death. lol I kept laughing. I loved it too much... my ex told me to shush because I was laughing too hard. lol Then when I went to see it again with Busta, he kept yelling "Team slayer" and other random Halo 2 terms in the middle of it. lol

I was surprised I didnt trun away at any of the hacking and slashing, no point seeing it if I did lol! But as was mentioned, the scenery was amazing, the colour of the sky etc. But yeah I swear those were fake nipples used, they could have had someones eye out!

I knew that that guy
was going to get his head cut off
the camera angle sort of gave it away. I laughed when all the elephants died though. Something about a big 2 tonne animal falling off a cliff amuses me

Its a good movie have seen it in German and in English.
Iliked it but the bad is after i ask around and i've listen that its not everything true in the movie thats sad because one is true the Greek history is a very good history.
The bad comment:i wouldent let my kids see that movie untill they are not 16 its shure not for kids.
