1. How do you get the ferry going across the Estersands water? (I already gave the cactus flower to the woman and nothing changed.)

2. Does the Lindwyrm change locations? I found it in the Oliphzah Rise in Tchita, but I ran over to the save spot really quickly and when I came back it was gone.

3. How do you get the Balheim key once the entrance is caved in? You can't teleport there anymore and I don't see other entrances.

4. WHAT is up with the E/SE/E/SE/SE/ dirty note you get down in lowtown? I know (or think) it has something to do with the waterway, right?

Sorry to be a pest but these questions have been driving me crazy. Thanks!

.......see, THIS is why I used to post in the FFXII forums instead of the help booth. *sigh*

Hopefull this will help you with atleast one of your questions.

To get the ferry to run across the water you must help the "Dantro" and his wife heal the sick traveler.

You must first talk to Dantro then take the flower to his wife.
Then you must exit and reenter the village areas and speak to the boy on the river bank.
choose to go to north bank village
speak to him again and go to south bank village
speak to Dantro's wife again
then go behind her house and examine the ground
go back and talk to the boy
go to northbank village and finish the part

There is plenty more to the sidequest but this should get you started!

Also, after you help heal the sick person,he gives you the Barheim key.Oh,and the Lindwyrm only appears when it is cloudy, not raining.I forgot what the area is called where he appears, but if you saw him(he's huge)then that's it.Also, the dusty letter pertains to a certain order that the waterway sluice gates need to be turned on and off in order to get a fragment of a medallion to drop, but that Medallion quest is a whole different and long, engaging quest with about 8 things to do across Ivalice. And you're not being a pest, and I'm with you about these FFXII questions being moved to a general help booth.Be sure to post any more questions!:)

Thank you very much, smitty and megalixir. (Smitty, cool avatar!!!). Actually I found the wyrm as soon as I turned around again, so it must've been a glitch. (I seem to get a few of those.)

I'll check out the FAQ about the waterway puzzle with the E/SE stuff. I hope they also have a good guide to the puzzling world of the Doors of Hours in the Caverns....I couldn't figure those out to save my life, LOL.

Thanks again, guys!

The Door of Hours puzzle isn't all that hard, but you'll never figure it out without a guide! You have to enter the Sochen Cave from the South, then go into the Door of Hours section from the EAST.Then go counterclockwise, opening and entering ONLY the Doors of Hours. It basically leads you in a circle back to where you entered. You'll hear a noise to confirm you did it right. But to get in the door after the Ascetic's Door, which leads to Hell Wyrm, you must speak to Wyrm Philosopher at Windmill 12(I think that's it)on the Cerobi Steppe. He'll give you a key to get in.It took me a little over an hour to beat him,so be prepared!!!!Be sure to post if you get it all done.:)

I've walked through the Doors of Hours three times. Each time I approach from the East, walk around counterclockwise (to the right, winding up/around then down to the left) opening only the Doors of Hours, all the way around in a circle to where I started. I hear no sound indicating success and when I go back to the Aescetic's Door it's still closed. What am I doing wrong; anyone know?

@_@ man.. i finish the game, now i will get my 13th esper, and i never heard about this door of hours puzzle

I jsut beat the hell wyrm last night. I took about an hour and a half. I wouldn't waste your time with it. The beast has about 9 million HP and all that you get is a new badge in the sky pirates den and a lousy 50K from Montblanc. He doesn't even have anything decent to steal, i think i got a dark stone. However he's not that difficult to put down, so if you don't mind the hour plus it's gonna take you then go for it. The door opened for me the first time around. Enter from the east and go down and clockwise around. You get a message saying a door opened in the distance when you get back to the room you started in. Good luck

A new badge? A stinking new badge?!?! :O Wow. Yeah, I've been reading that you need to be lvl 80-90 to defeat it, and I am only in the 60s.

I don't know what's going on with my clockwise situation. I did exactly what you're saying, and nothing happened. I think I have a glitchy game.

It's also not letting the medallion drop down in the Garamsmythe Waterway when I turn on the sluices by going E, SE, E, SW, SE. I get up to E, SE, E with little chimes sounding right, then it quits and I have tried EVERY sluice without getting another chime.

It took me a little over an hour to beat him,so be prepared!!!! Be sure to pst if you get it all done.:)

OK I haven't done the Door of Hours yet, but I did want to chime in and say I FINISHED THE STUPID ENDLESS MEDALLION QUEST and killed all of the things in the Necrohol! Yaaaaay!

cool ^ ^_^
oh and you dont have to be in 80-90 to beat yiazmat
around 70 should be good enough
as long as you have bubble belts ,yagyu darkblades ,maximillian and magepower shishak

yagyu darkblades? magepower shishak? Where are such things? Is it something you have to get from Atak and everyone on the Phon Coast?

Yagu darkblades are stolen or dropped (can't remember which) from a rare bomb monster in the Lushu mines the section that normally has to flying aeromites (I think). The other items i'm pretty sure can be purchased from the hidden beknamy merchant in the necrol of nabudis. Sorry about the name mistakes, but i'm at work.

Oh yeah, about the door that leads to the hell wyrm, if you can't get in, it's probably because you haven't accepted the hunt for it yet.

Hmm, I've accepted all the hunts there are, unless you get it in Archades. (I am down to doing the Phon Coast rare monster junk at this point.) I didn't get very good weapons from the Beknamy merchant, so the yagu blades must be somewhere else or appear when you're higher than level 75.

The yagu darkblades are stolen or dropped (can't remember which) from a rare monster in the section of the lushu (?sp?) mines. It is a bomb type monster and it shows up occasionally in the area that normally has two big white flying monsters ( i think that they are called aeronites).
