Having trouble with the one where Seph has the key.

I go to the manor and go in all the rooms but there is no soldier there to talk to so I can find out that the door has been unlocked.

Am I supposed to talk to Seph on the 2nd floor of the hotel before I do this?
 
I don't recall Seph ever having a key. Are you talking about after Seph has already went into the basement? The main room is on the right and you go in there. Cloud should be waiting for you and he'll tell you that Sephiroth went down to the basement and hasn't come back up yet or something. I can't remember his exact words.
 
Ooooh I see what you're talking about. You go downstairs into the basement and enter the left and right rooms, but don't enter the back room, because that's where Seph is currently and you won't be able to complete the 7 wonders. You have to fight these fiends or whatever and acquire sets of Coffin Keys and open each of the coffins in the rooms to find the 5th Wonder.
 
Before you go back to the reactor a 2nd time, yes. You need to wait if you're really adamant on completing the 7 wonders. Once you go into the basement and go to the reactor again, that's it. You fight Sephiroth and no more going back to discover the other two wonders.
 
Thanks! It was my plan to fully beat the game (every aspect) but apparently, I missed the Zack fanclub :( oh well, there's always the 2nd go around.
 
You're welcome! ^^ There's actually so much stuff you can do it's unreal. You still have a bit yet before you beat the game. You should actually consider picking up the strategy guide for it. It's VERY helpful and shows all those little, tiny extra things you could miss out on.
