A new 'friendly' admin

Since Busta has left there isn't an admin to replace him. I'm talking about an admin who is down to earth person who will talk to you as friend. An admin who is willing to talk to you face to face. A some-what active admin that participates in this community. Someone that posts often and communicate in Shoutbox frequently. Have any suggestions?

Those are called "Face" Admins if I am correct. Yes, I kind of agree with you. I am sure that the current admins have stumbled across this suggestion (I am sure they did), and soon they will decide whether to add another admin or not.

I completely agree with Angel Valentine. We have 4 Admins who can handle the techy work fine - as Saix has also said - yet we need a "face admin" (As Julius called them) to do the little jobs, such as changing usernames, how long has it been since a username has been changed? two? three weeks? Busta might not have had skills what the ACP, but he was able to get the little jobs done, and you really don't appreciate someone who does stuff like that, until theres noone there who does it anymore :|

Bring back Angelus xD

I find that this entire issue would be resolved if Global Moderators were permitted moderate ACP access, which I believe was revoked some time ago. That way, the Administrators need only deal with various technical issues and the Global Moderators can be your "face" Administrators. The only real difference is the colour, to be honest. As Saix and Angel Valentine have inadvertently demonstrated, you don't need to be an Administrator to have any higher a level of competance or reasoning capabilities.

I'm with you on that. There's no reason why GMods can't be able to change usernames really. They can do pretty much anything else in regards to editing users, so why not name changing?

Dont you think that i should be the `new friendly admin`XD i got lots of exp as a admin on many site :) :) hehe but on a more realistic note.... i like saix i think hed be a great admin. he does a great job as a mod right now.

How about showing some patience and wait for one of the current admins to express here? :)

Rhea is an excellent member, as well as Saix since he already has some experience as one of our former admins. Another one that could be an admin would be Aerith Gainsburough seeing that he is online almost...always....:P.... Then again that's up to the owners and admins.

My vote goes for Rhea.

that was very nice of you to say Julius, but in all honesty i have no aspiration to go anywhere higher than an FF section mod tbh. If you all want my opinion, the most deserving Gmod for adminship would be Lady Aerith, she's the most experienced, and she's got a lot of other great qualities...Just my personal opinion though, im sure that any of the Gmods would do great.

Yeah, LA. She's well respected and I am sure most members would agree with that promotion :D

[EDITED]Horrendous mistake was made....I was sleepy...

The reason Super Moderators were kicked out of the AdminCP was that it posed a security risk. One could argue left, right and centre how Super Moderators wouldn't do that, a dead horse that has been flogged enough in the Staff forum, but the point still remains.
Who knows when any of them will get sand in their vagina like Busta did towards Dragon Mage...

As for the Avatar issue, I haven't received notification that my powers have been restored, so I haven't investigated it any further. There's a limited amount of possibilities (Safe Mode on and the appropriate vBulletin Options setting not being turned on, CHMOD for the /customavatars not 0777, Usergroup Permission setting), so getting it to work would most likely be solved within the hour.

And finally, this "Face Admin" thing... meh.
That pretty much sums up what I think: meh.
It's not important, and I think the crux of this is that people want someone who are present more often so they can bitch at them to get shit like the avatar issue/other issues/future issues fixed.
There's no hierarchy of staff forums, there's only one. Therefore, even a section mod is equally able to inform you of any upcoming actions discussed in there as an administrator.

People seem to misunderstand the purpose of an administrator.
By definition, Administrator is someone who works behind the scenes to make sure things work. In all major businesses and/or organisations, you never see Administrators publicly post or inform users/members/coworkers of anything.
Administrators do their job behind the scenes. Solving issues (in forum terms: technical and "personal" (meaning issues like disputes)), things like that.

In short, I think it's fine the way it is now, and I fail to see a reason why adding more chefs to the already messy kitchen will do anything but create more mess.

I feel somewhat responsible for this xD

When did this thread suddenly turn into an unofficial election?

I'm sorry that some of you feel that I am out too much or not present in the forums as you might like me to be. I will try to put more time into being a "face" in the community. When I get a chance though, I'm on chatting or PMing people or whatever.

I feel that as an administrator, there are things that need to be dealt with behind the scenes and that is what I am doing. I think we have the people in place that need to be here and if changes come, it will be for the better of the community.

Thank you LeeD. ^_^ I understand that you're busy. As an Administrator things are dealt behind the scenes. Some members would like know a little about what is going on behind the scenes. Also get to know you a little better.

And thank you all for the responses everyone.

She lost my respect during the DB fiasco(months ago).

I'm afraid I'm gonny have to jump in here and emphasise that Mandi had NO influence in the hack at christmas and should NOT be penalised for Tethar and I's actions. As for the event that followed, you can hardly say it was unjustified, or that only she had a part to play in that.

Mandi has had her fair share of disagreements with Josh, as has a number of others, but she has NEVER screwed over another person on this forum or done ANYTHING to lose ANY respect.

I, on the other hand ... :wacky:

This thread seems to have run its course. We have feedback from LeeD, and there's a few potential names to be thrown around if we ever need a new administrator. As such...
