I suppose with any forum update, we're likely to run into new problems.

The shoutbox archive no longer works. The following message is presented:
Warning: main(/home/ffforums/public_html/shoutbox.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ffforums/public_html/vbseo.php on line 1129

Warning: main(/home/ffforums/public_html/shoutbox.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ffforums/public_html/vbseo.php on line 1129

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/ffforums/public_html/shoutbox.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/ffforums/public_html/vbseo.php on line 1129

As for other problems, I believe that Mark mentioned something was off with out profiles.

Yeah, I encountered this whilst trying to go into the Ban log.

Oh, and also, I think your talking about the past username box for the user profile.

EDIT: I was just looking at my profile, and just saw, our total threads count doesn't come up

Just to let you know, the ban log doesn't contain details of why people are banned from the shoutbox, but yes, the banlog is still messed up.

The staff list feature seems to be back, but it looks messed up, moderators and RPG directors are listed together, but then seperately as well O_O

And, the old username boxes in our profiles are back, I thought we were getting rid of them?

Isn't that because the RPG Directors are also moderators of the RPG forums? So they're technically moderators too but have another job on top of that.

The same happened with me. I tried to go into the Arcade Section, but just a blank white page shows up and shows some nerd shit in there.:wacky:
Since I always go to the Arcade whenever there's nothing new in the New Posts section, this is pissing me off since I can't play Snake or Tetris.
It's quite irritating like this, and I'm hoping that it's fixed as soon as possible, or else I wouldn't be able to play Tetris or Snake for the rest of my life in FFForums.

I actually like it. Since everyone seems to get their names changed once a day here-*looks pointedly at the staff with tongue out*-it's helpful with keeping in-line with who is who. :)

The problem with that is that if all my names after the Smith theme were listed, it'd stretch the crap out of the profile page. I've probably had at least fifteen different names during my time here at FFF :wacky:

We're currently looking into having a AKA field implemented into the postbit, as it will cause less page stretching, and it's easier for lazy gits like ourselves to recognize who someone is more quickly.:neomon:

Well, maybe you staffers should set a good example and abide by the sixty day rule, also. The problem would be solved immediately. ;D

While we're complaining, that bloody Jukebox hasn't work since, like, ever. xD

While that's technically true, since RPG directors are moderators of the RPG section, they shouldn't be mixed into the moderators list like that, but if it's to be kept that way the lists with "RPG director" and "moderators" listed should be deleted, as it shows two sets of names twice.

This is how the staff list should look (but tidier mind you)

The Arcade is back up. Any old data is gone though.

Funny you should say that, I just removed the link a few minutes ago. I couldn't even find what plugin that was. Doubt anyone used it anyway.

We've been told that, while the automated "Previous Username" field was down, to put our old usernames in our signatures, so that we can easily distinguish new usernames. It was then suggested that we might receive a new field in our profiles, in which we can enter our previous usernames ourselves, presumably.

Not if it didn't work, hahah. In fairness, it did work briefly when Darkblade owned the site but that was abruptly over, long ago. I just saw an oppurtunity to get it back up and running, there.

I feel the need to emphasise how impressed I am with the speed at which everything is being rectified. ;D

EDIT:
I already notice you have a trophy from the Arcade, Golbez. I've seen these trophies on other forums - when members start to accumulate trophies, the posts can become somewhat elongated due to the number of awards. I'm not sure if you've seen that before. If not, it might be better to somehow store those trophies in our profiles, instead of posts. Or just turn them off altogether.

EDIT II:
But ... the staff list looks ridiculously long. xD

S'all good. With vB, it only puts one trophy in the postbit, and with the drop down menu when you click a user's name, includes games they've conquered the highscores of, but putting all the main stuff above it. :neomon:

You never stop complaining, it's all you do when something is wrong, you're the first to point it out to everyone even when it's nothing worth noting. :neomon:

I'm not experiencing any problems at the moment, then again I don't browse here that often, just the odd bit of downtime.

I believe Saix said that we would be getting an AKA field instead of having the previous username box back again. I know someone said that the feature wouldn't be returning, because as Zack pointed out, it can really stretch profiles.
It was removed for security reasons. Nothing to do with stretching profiles. Admins can set how many names are displayed, though this is one of the main reasons to look at a profile, so I don't see it being a problem.

The username management plugin is quite good, so this is not necessary :)

As in...after weeks and weeks :P

If it becomes a problem, we'll address it.

It's fine :) Seriously, "fixing" that would probably require a bit of effort, and there's really not much reason to.

Acht, I suppose I'm just voicing what other people have said, in regards to how silly it looks when a staffers name appears twice.

I almost feel reluctant to post another problem. :wacky:
