A question about Squall after FH before Balamb ***spoiler****

my question is, cid promotes squall as their "leader". I'm curious as to what this means in the larger scheme of things. Now he says "The garden will be used as our mobile base, it will be run by myself and the staff of course" meaning cid himself still holds his rank? Then he goes on to promote Squall as their "leader". Does he mean leader in the fight against the sorcoress, or leader of balamb garden in its entirety. He says "if anyone has a problem with this please come see me directly". Basically what i mean is, Is cid still headmaster? Is he still Squalls "superior". I know he goes on to retire with edea at the orphanage, during this time is he STILL ranked in the garden... or is this all cid compleetly handing the reins over to squall and stayong on temporarily on a staff basis?
 
I'm pretty sure it just means Squall's leading the battle against the sorceress. Cid built garden and will always be heavily involved with behind the scenes. He just gave squall authority in all things evil sorceress related and sits back in his comfy chair. After all I'm pretty sure even in FF nobody in their right mind would make a seventeen year old a headmaster. xD
 
Cid had to do it because he knew that Squall was the one that came up with the whole idea of SeeD and Balamb Garden. Squall is the true creator of Balamb Garden and he knew in order for Squall to defeat Ultimecia he had to upgrade him to SeeD Commander.

Cid is still the Head-Master but Squall does all the war based and Ultimecia killing leadership. Like how he led the war between Balamb and Galbadia.

Uhm... no. Squall simply told Edea that SeeD was her idea after hearing that from Cid. Because of that there's no actual creator. The whole concept of seed and garden creation is actually a paradox.

That's what I meant. Squall went back and told Edea about SeeD but since he went back in time he was the first one to know about SeeD and he was the one that gave Edea the idea.

Which is not the same thing as saying he came up with it. And really, sorry for being an accuracy nazi sometimes but we can't talk about first or last either. The actual timeline of these events is not a straight line but a circle. There's no actual start in it, hence the paradox.
