A Question for all you Christians.

Dude your in love with an imaginary guy!?

Apparently he is in love with you as well,

There's a difference between loving and being in love. I'd wager you believe there is a difference but said that merely to insult my views.

My arguments need no structure because your kind are too narrow minded in your beliefs to change your beliefs on any point about th fundamental aspect of my point.

Every argument needs structure. That's what makes an argument an argument. If you won't or in your case can't structure an argument it makes you incapable of arguing a point.

God does not exist..........its really very simple and you cant really argue made up stuff,
christianity is a failing enterprise based on belief of a central deity who preaches certain ways to live and is no longer revered by the masses as it once was.

Again, it's your inability to think outside of the box that is your own undoing.

"God does not exist... its really that simple"

No it isn't. The God I'm referring to exists as infinity. He is described as all that he is; immeasurable. You have no point of reference nor scope when dealing with the beyond yet you're speaking very definately as if you've died and been resurrected.

You commented recently on a subject dealing with such preconceptions here. It would seem from this post that you haven't understood what that thread was dealing with.

It's not about popularity. Believe it or not, not every Christian follows the religion because of social influence.

Falling and Weak............and its listless people like you who cling to archaic beliefs and want exist in a universe in a bottle, yeah thats right l said listless.

How on Earth could you determine whether or not I am a listless person? Based on what I've written in a debate?

You will notice the decline of society as we move away from the precepts laid out
by religion, but this is just a natural part of societal growth........its been measured by scientist and not just made up, so it must be true?:smartass:

You can keep your guidance........I have no need for it.

Your faith in Science is blind. First off, Scientists aren't responsible for every finding we've made in human history. There are Philosophers, Theologians, Psychologists, Sociologists, etc... who have contributed heavily to how our society has been shaped.

Although you won't be inclined to admit it, if a Scientist gets on the TV and deliberately starts talking out of his arse you'll believe every word because you don't strive to learn the truth nor build your own concepts, you take what he says at face value.

I could go on about various philosophical concepts but I'm afraid the ideas would be too high brow for your level of understanding and reception. This isn't intended to be an insult, but there are certain concepts I can tell you haven't come anywhere near and to continue in this vein would be fruitless.

Harly you may not like me and to be fair I have been an asshole in these posts mocking and what not..........IRL we would not get along any better either way.

Believe me, I don't take this personally. If we met up in real life chances are it would get along because we wouldn't be discussing this. You may have certain preconceptions of religious people, but I'm not the type to be disgusted by someone 'sinning' in my presence. The vast majority of my friends are self proclaimed Atheists. Religion isn't all I'm about you know, nor am I some whack job leering at other people. The problem is many non believers falling foul to the same judgemental approach they believe religious people have exhibited on them.

Hypocrisy isn't a religious trait, it's a human one.

Edit ----------------

^Raistlin Majere- According to the Bible, God will judge you by your actions.

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." - Samuel 16:7

I would say the Bible focuses on why rather than what. If I kill a thousand men but I've conceded that it was indeed the wrong thing to do in reference to the teachings of Christ am I not saved?

^Rydia- Christ cannot simply be a good person for Christianity to be true. He HAS to be divine. He has to be the Son of God. Otherwise, Christianity is a lie.

I would agree with this. Jesus Christ taught from a self proclaimed higher point of reference, something a normal human being couldn't attain without transcending their natural limitations, which would be impossible. To disregard why he is teaching is to disregard what he is teaching.

Now, I know it doesn't come as a surprise to anyone that I'm Atheist. Now, I'm not that asshole kind that tends to shove his opinion down ones throat. (Only if provoked, or one is doing it to me) In fact, I have a few Christian friends, and we get along pretty well.

However, I've met a few people who will sit down and talk to me for a bit, but once they find out that I'm Atheist, they flip. They will literally just walk off and look at me in contempt and disgust.

So, the question that I have for you is, how do you, as a Christian, act and behave around an Atheist? Do you not care? Do you look down at them? How would you feel if a close friend of yours turned out Atheist? Also, how would you feel about working side by side with one?

Though this could spark up some interesting conversation. Enjoy.

I detest Christians who look their nose down on others like that. Fact of the matter is we're no better than anybody else and just because somebody is Atheist doesn't mean you should just cut all tides with them.

I wouldn't "flip" out if somebody I knew was Atheist. I have a lot of friends with a lot of different beliefs, Atheism included, and we get along just fine. Heck I had Atheists find me to be a breath of fresh air. Probably because I don't walk around with a stick up my butt... I try to take the Jesus approach as a Christian. Treat people the way you want to be treated, welcome them with open arms, things like that. It's not easy but it doesn't stop me from trying.

You might want to re-read the New Testement, Jesus treated his own mother with disdane.

MOD EDIT: Can you please add a little more effort to your posts? This may be on topic, but it's a spam response, and may be deleted without warning next time. Thank you.

Personal Experiance

My father found his faith while he worked away in England when I was around 12-13. When he returned (I was 15), he announced that he was a follower of God. I had lost my own faith when I was young and when he found out, my father said this to me; " I find that very sad. It's as if you have cut out a massive part of your life. " This actually angered me. Sure, it is sad when a person losses their faith because it usually means something terrible must have happened for them to do so. However, what I wanted to hear FROM MY PARENT was; "What happened? Are you alright? Why wasn't I told of this?" Not to be dismissed so readily as if I was some sort of outsider. I was his DAUGHTER. Y'know? If it was anything else, he would have fussed.

And don't get me started on high school! People kept coming up to me asking; " Aren't you scared of going to hell? How could I be friends with someone condemned? " et cetera. I won't even go into detail on peoples reaction to me being Wiccan in college. <___<

However, most religious people are decent beings and actually try to understand and respect our views/beliefs. Which I'm grateful for everyday. My mother is very religious but still encourages my own faith. While some see me as forsaken, confused or otherwise... It's still nice to know that there are other people like you and others still supporting you through it.

Christianity is a respectable religion. Admittingly, I can't say a a lot for most of it's followers.
The reason being is that there is a lot of heresy among Christians in general. Instead of interpreting the NT themselves, most usually just take the words of someone else and conveniently overlook the less graceful aspects of it.
This happens in other religions as well, but in Christianity, there are so many elusive misconceptions that are commonly and widely spread that you'd be a fool not to personally venture on the conceptualization of it.

Of course, this is only my opinion and I am not speaking on all Christians.

But my question for the majority of Christians is simple: If you truly believe in Jesus Christ, why do you only practice half the concepts in the NT?

Actually I dont care what a persons faith is if I like and enjoy conversation with you what does it matter?
I personally believe their is no right or wrong religion .. I will say im not among any religion yet I dont discount them either I have my own system of belief.
Regardless my sister is an athiest and I will say she turned me sour at a young age towards them she argued and fought with me endlessly saying how stupid I was for believing in a god thet didnt exsist.
Uhm no I dont realy believe in God but I dont think he dosent exsist either. how am I to know weather something exsists or not till I die?
Its a faith in something more thats all. And even if my personal belief dosent run in terms of others who are you to endlessly rant at me till I turn your way?
Im sorry but she had some damn stupid words for me and quite honestly I just found Her veiw ignorant for how easily she degraded mine.
But thats a person not everyone. So I more or less like to take people for what they show to me regardless of religion. It just brings to the table a new topic of information to learn about..
