Cali those are such cute fan graphics and arts, that animation is so beautiful, the fanart from KHI is so cute; but I don't think that's what Aerith was saying or going to say to Cloud But thats just me, eh?

That middle one is too cute! And so pretty too, I love fanarts that are easy on the eyes and that one is so warm and gentle looking, also Aerith looks gorgeous, anyway enjoy.

I love the one of Aerith pinching Cloud's cheek, it's so in character for both of them.

Their moments are so magical. I love how much emphasis they get for their rare interactions in AC. The music always comes to some sort of soft tune or hits a climax. And any time Aerith is shown, no matter what battle Cloud's in, all of a sudden his surroundings get peaceful.

Am I the only one that feels like the song lyrics "Ooo Dreamweaver, I beleive you can get me through the night" should start to play when Cloud sees Aerith look back at him in slow-motion? Kinda like when Ken meets Barbie in Toy Story 3

after she says she looked in the papers for info on Cloud during the lifestream scene? and the clotis use this to try and say Cloud still likes Tifa?


Well, honestly, I don't get what is so significant about young Cloud (who had a dim crush on Tifa by this time) saying that older Cloud will probably be happy. Of course the younger Cloud would assume that. I mean, at the time of the flashback of Tifa's room bit during the LS scene it was young Cloud speaking and he was the part of Cloud's past that did actually carry the dim crush on the girl in the first place (I can't believe I have to point this out to them).

How can people be surprised by this?

I mean seriously, did they not know young Cloud had a dim crush on Tifa then? and if they did know that then why the hell are they surprised when young Cloud assumes sucha thing? We don't see older Cloud saying that to Tifa do we?

In all honesty, younger Cloud said that because he was under the influence of the dim crush that older Cloud used to have as a child-- because THAT part of Cloud's past was the part of Cloud that actually carried the crush for her, hence why young Cloud would assume he'd "probably" be so happy as apposed to just happy. Young Cloud doubted that claim. Young Cloud only said that to Tifa because it was young Cloud under the biased influence of the crush.

In case any lurkers missed the point of this, I'm emphasizing the point that it was young Cloud who said this and not older Cloud. Why make young Cloud say this and not older/now Cloud? Because young Cloud was the part of Cloud's life that actually had the crush in the first place and young Cloud is the only part of Cloud that had the crush that's why.

So this quote from younger Cloud has no significant connection to what older Cloud feels since-ye know-it was the past Cloud who thought and said such a thing.

That gifs amazing and cute, Aerith looks so pretty in that part, and you know I watched Scrubs a few days ago and JD says in one Episode that hands are the window to what people feel and it showed Carla and Turk hold hands along with Dr. Cox and Jordan. I just thought that was a cute tid bit to add and that gif reminded me of it.

Why does something innocent have to be blown out of proportion? I don't understand. I mean Cloud had no friends, and of course he'd be happy to know he may have had one thinking of him. Sometimes people blow little things into something bigger than it actually is; do that in real life and you'll find yourself chasing people away by reading too much into things. Honestly people need to get a grip.

I think you pretty much summed it up quite perfectly, womanz! You're really right though. Sometimes things get blown out of proportion. Like Cloud living with Denzel, Marlene, Barret and Tifa--some people take that as Cloud being the daddy of the family. But really, he's just like an adopted son into the whole thing. Barret is the one that started the family. And then Marlene invited Cloud in. It was Barret and Tifa who took care of Marlene as if she were their own. So if anything, Cloud is like another kid for Tifa and Barret.

But yeah, it's those sort of things that people turn into something more.

Hmm, good question. Honestly, I think anything Cloud says or does shows his love for her. But you asked for mutual... and I gotta agree with you. Nothing outdoes Cloud being called Aerith's lover. I mean... that's as mutual as it gets. Even if koibito was supposed to be translated as "sweetheart" it still says Cloud is Aerith's sweetheart and a sweetheart can be romantic when a second name is linked to it.

Had it just said something else, I wouldn't be as fangirly about it. But I knew the moment I saw that quote Clourith had become canon. I could careless if Cloud gets with some new girl, because I know that when both women were alive, Cloud chose to love Aerith over Tifa. That to me ends the LTD.

1. Years later Cloud is still wandering around like a lost puppy whose puppy girlfriend died.

2. Japanese culture is often characterized as being conservative and conformist. A nervous bat of the eyelashes in japanese culture is the equivalent of americans having sex on the beach. Aeris definitely fluttered her eyelashes at Cloud once or twice.

3. Oh lawd, playing through FF5 is difficult enough. It'll be awhile before I can re-play FF7 for a better answer. :T

That reminds me, I think Cloud's way of talking about Aerith is more than enough proof he loves her. I mean... he compares her smile to a flower--a symbolism used for beauty. He gives her laugh and smile small details and pays attention to her attributes so closely that Shakespeare would probably be jealous of how romantic it is.

It's incredibly romantic when we take in consideration how much of a cold, heartless person he was previous to meeting her. This uncaring man all of a sudden turns into a poet for a woman he just met on the streets... how can I see that and ignore the romantic implications of it? To see someone like Cloud act that way towards Aerith and ONLY Aerith--I just have no doubt in my mind that the man is madly in love with her.

And I think it shows his love when he says her beautiful smile is a good purchase, for Cloud to say that... I just cannot fathom how anyone can deny his love for her.

As for Aerith, she went off and died with him in mind completely, she stays alone in the lifestream and watches over him; and she kinDa said it like a trillion times xD

But anyway, what do you guys think Cloud and Aerith's favorite things about each other were; (SE has probably answered this for us...but have fun!)

Eek!! Wait-- do you mean physically or personality/habit-wise?

Oh, I'll just answer both.

For Cloud, I think we all already know how much he adores her laugh, eyes, and smile. If comparing her smile to a symbol of beauty doesn't tell us what Cloud likes about her I don't know what ever will. I mean... a freaking flower? He must have thought pretty closely about what her smile looked like, and for him to say it resembled a flower, I think her smile has got to be one of his favorite things about her. Especially since he said her smile was a good purchase! *swoon*

But above that, I think he loves her eyes the most. After all, it was her eyes that caught his attention the very moment they met and it was her eyes that he called impressive. That means he was awe-struck or mesmerized by them to note them as being impressive.

So yeah, physically, I think Cloud loves her smile and eyes.

Personality wise, I think Cloud loves how innocent and cheerful she is. He has a habit of always remembering how innocent she was or how optimistic and happy she was--always pointing out how she spoke of the future and stuff like that--so I think he loves that positive side of her personality. Probably because he's so broody. But I think he also loves how she is so selfless. He always spoke about how she gave up her future so she could save the planet and it seems like he really admires that about her. I think he also loves that she cared so dearly for the planet and people, which is why he in turn cared for the planet.

I'll do Aerith after, cuz this post is already a tl;dr

But I do wanna say I hope this new Novella has Aerith and Cloud mentions in it, like all the other Novella's have, I mean it would kind of end our run to just stop with all the Clerithy goodness, I think xD

I'm thinking... since this is Nojima writing this and Nojima wrote that Cloud was Aerith's koibito in one of the latest installments that means there has just got to be some positives for Cloud+Aerith.

Although, I'm getting the feeling only the turks will be mentioned.

I would love it if the novella did but I have to agree with Cali, I think it'll be just focusing on the Turks. But if they decide to make an appearance with Cloud, it almost always comes back to Aerith
