It's a bit confusing. I think the clueless line is just saying that Cloud isn't aware of Aerith's feelings, that doesn't mean he doesn't harbor feelings for her. So both quotes can coexist as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. And honestly, I think it's better for everyone to make a conclusion off of the original game/books that were released before the LTD became a cash cow and had creators jerking along both sides like a bunch of jerks :hmph:

I don't particularly enjoy using info after 2003 because the creators started to try and neutralize everything for both sides of the LTD... so I think the game and original book speak most clearly on who the intended love interest is. ^_^

They can but I find it a bit silly to say he doesn't know her feelings and then show them on a date and admit that there's something between them and then make her ask him for a date herself < how can anyone not know someones feelings when they ask you out.

The one of Cloud holding her in his arms just, eep! So cute, makes me wonder what it's be like if VII had a 6-bit sequel or something, it'd be so cute!

I couldn't imagine them having an argument. Cloud doesn't seem the rigid, control freak-ish, nor uncompromising type. Aeris doesn't seem particularly demanding or someone who has unrealistic expectations and views which would put stress on their relationship.

In comparison to dealing with end-of-the-world scenarios, most of the things couples fight about and complain over would seem pretty insignificant. If you're travelling the world, unsure if you're going to live or die as part of an idealistic rebellion, I think that would tend to have a sobering effect. And, it would cause people to appreciate life more.

Practically everything couples fight over and get unhappy about are small things that aren't very important in the grand scheme of things. I think so anyway -- but I'm probably the oddball or minority on that topic. :ohshit:

Its usually due to them having unrealistic expectations about relationships and life in general and them being uncompromising and unflexible and refusing to question themselves or their point of view.

Cloud and Aeris don't quite have any of the personality traits or behavioral patterns that would allow them to severely disagree on something or argue... I tend to think..

They've both suffered and know what its like to have nothing and while that does suck on many levels. It also helps them to appreciate what they have and not take each other for granted.

How would Cloud fix a Valentine's day if he and Aerith had a lover's spat the day before?

Honestly, every couple has little spats or fights -- I mean I wouldn't realy call it that but you know -- it is unrealistic to say a couple wouldn't fight at all, but I don't think it would be anything Cloud couldn't fix by doing something that was well thought out and something Aerith would obviously cherish and be unable to deny forgiving him for! I'd actually really love to see Cloud and Aerith have a moment like when Cloud mentioned the Woman in the Binkini in FFVII but instead while they were in a relationship, you know?

I mean Cloud wouldn't be interested in bikini chicks but it'd be cute for Aerith to misinterpret things that way, in my personal opinion :3

I agree.

That's half the reason why I love them together so much. because unlike other women around him, Aerith really does understand Cloud and she's not clingy or demanding like you said. And Cloud, I honestly think he's a level headed man and like you said, I think he'd end up coming to a common ground of agreement with Aerith--as would Aerith to Cloud. ^_^

Couldn't agree more. ^_^

I could see Cloud accidentally tracking mud in the house or leaving car oil around the sink/soap or something--which would get on Aerith's nerves a little but not so much that they end up screaming in anger. Heck, I think after Cloud did do something like that, he'd probably try cleaning it himself(which would defeat the purpose of getting angry) and that would probably just melt Aerith's heart if he cared enough to clean up after himself. :ryan:

I think you're right on so many levels. I think both really do know how to admire and appreciate the things they do have. But at the same time, I think Cloud would really want to give Aerith everything she never had--and the same for Aerith to Cloud. Obviously he wouldn't get her thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. But I think he would always do something for her to show how special and precious she is to him. whether he'd buy a necklace for her or just set up a nice dinner for her, I think if he did it out of his heart it's just as good to Aerith.

IMO, I think the perfect date for Valentine's day for Cloud and Aerith(if Aerith was still in the lifesteam) is one where Cloud would drive out to the great wide open space of some flower field (like you said) and maybe just sit there with Aerith, talking and just adoring each other while they can.

But if we're talking about an AU, I think Cloud would probably set up some really romantic dinner in a special place all to themselves. It would be a self cooked dinner(making it all the more cute) and it wouldn't be over the top or anything, it'd be a simplistic yet sweet date. :ryan:

I think theres been a large surge and a beatuiful on at that of Cloud and Aerith arts llately, I wonder if its because the Novel that was released in December or just because it was the anniversary awhile ago.

I think there were a few other topics that I didn't get to, so I think I'll try and do one right now as best as I can, be it good or bad xD I mean I know its a little past Valentines day but I can still answer them I think!

I can see them both having very casual dates, like in my opinion everything they did together would be their dates, I mean from just going away to staying in and watching their favorite movies, I think that they would just be who they are and that would be the Clerith date :3

Also, YOU KNOW I love that interview, and every time I show that interview to any detractor they ignore it or suddenly refuse to talk anymore, or ask what "relationship" it could be; but there's another interview where Nomura tells us that the theme of Kingdom Hearts is 'connection of hearts' as well as 'the person who is most important'.

That's a really precious Fanart, I saw another one by the same artist of Aerith and Squall, I love her/his Aerith! She seems so IN character, which isn't common of FFVII art in my opinion.

Oh, I also found something VERY interesting about the whole debate on who Cloud was searching for in KH:

See the part I highlighted? This interview proves Cloud was searching for Aerith. :tori:

Cloud was lost, that much we are told. And who was Cloud lost to? His friends(in other words Cid&Yuffie but mainly Aerith). And who was Cloud shown reuniting with at the end? That's right, Aerith. :ohoho:

This is really significant when trying to conclude who Cloud was truly searching for at the ending of the game. Think about it, if Cloud was lost from someone(Aerith) and we find out that he just so happens to be "searching for someone" at the same time, and then at the ending of the game we see him walking up to one person in particular--what is the conclusion here?

Before we add it all up let's go over the evidence once more. So far our proof that it was Aerith who Cloud was looking for is the following;

Sephiroth didn't originally exist, therefor Cloud couldn't have been looking for him no matter what any fan thinks.
KH's theme is about connections of the heart despite being apart.
Cloud is said to be LOST from Cid, Yuffie, and yes, AERITH.
The only person Cloud is said to be lost from is Cid, Yuffie and Aerith. And WHO is he emphasized on meeting during the ending? AERITH.

If Cloud was lost from person-A and he is later revealed to be looking for someone, and is then shown at the end of the game reuniting with person-A... then it could mean only one thing; That Cloud was searching for Aerith and he found her

(Is this really that bizarre to people, though? :brow:

I mean she's only the person he is shown searching for in Tactics and in FFVII).

Anyways, that's more proof that Cloud was indeed looking for Aerith and NOT Sephiroth. ^_^

I say the Gondola has a lot of significance between them as lovers anyways. It's where Aerith first told Cloud that she wanted to "meet" him and it's where their "promised date" ended "magically"--not to mention it's a romantic place with a romantic atmosphere(what girl wouldn't like the night sky lit up with an array of breathtaking fireworks surrounding them?) so it makes sense Cloud would take her back there and I can see Aerith loving it completely. :ryan:

-tears up- I've been so in love with Far's gifs and the ones you've been posting, Tori! They're just so, so precious. Aerith's death was such an emotional blow to all who played it, not just fans of Aerith. That really shows how much the death of an innocent can really just leave people speechless. She was goodhearted and innocent, and the last person one would imagine to be killed in the game. I still stand by that she knew she was going to die. It's totally foreshadowed, not only by Cait Sith, but by Aerith herself. "I'll be going now. I'll come back when it's all over." If that isn't foreshadowing, I don't know what is. That's one thing that really impacted me about her death. She knew it was going to happen, but she loved the Planet and its inhabitants so much that she allowed her death to happen so that she could save them all. Cloud's reaction to her death also touches me. His reaction is almost like a person who is absolutely heartbroken to the point of death. This shows so much that they had a strong connection to one another, and that Aerith wasn't just a party member. Aerith impacted Cloud so much, yet people are too blind to see it. I'm so glad that we do, though. Their relationship is so beautiful. It starts by chance, and with Aerith she was reminded of a past love, but they fall for each other for them, rather than memories. They learned from each other and they impacted each others lives. Aerith made Cloud want to save the world even more. It made him snap. It made him want to sought out Sephiroth and to save the world; to avenge her death. Without Aerith I don't think there would be no Final Fantasy VII. She was the catalyst for so many events in the game, and was the hero of FFVII. She saved the Planet, yet so many people fail to see that. Oh man. It's just so amazing how great these characters are. They aren't paper-esque, and neither is their undying love for each other.

Can I just say, I love you for saying this? Not many people are willing to admit that Aerith DID know she would die and did so anyway; which makes her character all the more tragic and great, which makes me TRULY admire thatshe was willing to give herself to The Don in exchange for poor young Yuffie -_-

And this quote from her novella proves it all really, Cloud was literally broken-hearted from her death and on the verge of insanity, it also goes on to say Aerith had to do what she did as being the last Cetra...further insinuating that she knew. I never understood why people argued that she did know its stated numerous times in FFVII and Maiden of The Planet.

The Forgotten City. Aerith, the last remaining survivor of the Cetra had fulfilled her mission to protect the Planet. The final place where she was supposed to reach had no boundaries no matter where she went... ~ MoTP

People really do whitewash Final Fantasy VII's story, they'd rather butcher the story just so they can drag Aerith's character/romance with Cloud through the mud, I mean to each their own of course but, honestly, trying to put Aeriths character through the meat grinder and ignoring the most important parts of FFVII just to keep her from loving Cloud and make her look bad, it sucks. :oy:

D'aww, I love you, too! Yeah, people are just ignorant of Aerith and her character. They don't give her a chance. They just think she's some Mary Sue character that's paper-esque, when in reality she is one of, if not THE, most well developed character in the entire franchise.

Yeah, exactly! Again, to the ignorance. They just wanted to finish the game, rather than truly paying attention to the main core of the story.

I feel the same way. I love Aerith and Zack. Heck, it's my favorite pairing just because I find it ridiculously cute, but I do love Clerith, as well. It's so obvious in the game. They think that Aerith should strictly be with Zack. She loved him so much, but she learned that Cloud was the one for her. That's fine. She loved him, and Zack understands that, I'm sure. She even loved him while in the Lifestream! She had him on her mind the entire time. People just want CloTi, even though it was non-existent. There were never mutual feelings ever. He liked her when she didn't like him, and I don't think it's ever said that she liked him, though it's obvious, yet he loved Aerith. Give it a rest, people! D:
